Hi, I heard the two clicks and did as shown in the video, but my blinds still do not retract up or down. The blinds just switch backwards or forwards. HELP!
Hmmhmm. Well that's not what we want to have happen... Brian chiming in here, he says that if it reconnected but there's still no movement, you will have to either have the glass replaced or have a new panel. Something is probably broken internally. Probably not the news you wanted to hear but there's always a way forward! Just not a DIY way. We'd be happy to help connect you to your local Pella office for service! :)

What about just the tilt? We have two knobs. One for the blinds going up and down and the other that just controls the tilt and it’s the top knob that controls the tilt that somehow disconnected from a magnet and now doesn’t open and close the tilt properly.
If the tilt operation isn't working, we'd recommend having the slide operator replaced by your local Pella service. That slide doesn't have near as much travel as the up and down operator does, so something is likely needing internal work. Thanks for the question and sorry that it's likely not a DIY solution! But happy to help regardless.
Can you show me or explain to me how to DIY adjust the door? Mine locks fine when open but rubs at the bottom lock and will not fully lock. Thanks
We can add this to the list of things to film, but Brian is off on vacation right now. That said, he still saw this comment and--bear with us here-- provided some tips for you to follow. Here's what he had to offer: Depends on the year the door was made. Older doors have plastic shims behind each side of the hinge. To lift it up remove all shims from top and middle hinge then add 2 or 3 shims to the bottoms hinge. Newer doors may have adjustable hinges. If you have adjustable hinges: Loosen the 2 Phillips head screws then turn the top hinge adjustment to the minus sign. Once adjusted tighten the Phillips screws down tight. The bottom hinge loosen Phillips screws and turn adjustment screw to the plus sign then tighten Phillips screws back. Or you could also try a completely different method which works great. Just file some of the point off of the bottom multipoint. This will allow the multipoint to completely throw don’t will lock. Hope this helps!

Where is the likely failure if the thumb knob and key won't engage the lock? It turns and stops, but the door won't lock. I am lifting the handle when trying.
The first thing we would recommend is try to operate the lock with the door opened. If it locks fine with the door open, it means the door needs to be adjusted. The locks have to completely throw in order for the lock to be able to roll over into the lock position. If that doesn't work, it likely means that we'll need to get a service team out to take a look at it. More than happy to help with that as well!

My door is making a squeaky noise when I slide the door. Do you lubricate in the adjustment holes? What do you recommend to use? WD-40?
It’s best not to lubricant the rollers they have greased bearings. However, if you do lubricant, we recommend using silicone spray instead of wd40. You can try to spray the inside adjust hole, but that may not reach the roller. If that doesn’t work you can pick up on the vent panel and pull the bottom towards the inside of the house to remove the vent panel. Just lay it on its side, lubricant the rollers, and put it back. Hope that helps!

Great question! So replacement parts can be ordered and delivered through your local Pella branch. If you google them, their service number SHOULD pull right up, and they can handle it from there!

I'd call your local Pella showroom and see if they can order over the phone. They can grab all the necessary information if you know exactly the part. If not, they might need to send out a service tech to take a look. Hope this helps!

Oof. Sounds like there's something internal that needs to be fixed beyond just resetting the magnets... Our recommendation is to have a Pella technician come out to take a look. I'd start by calling your local Pella branch. Hope this gets resolved for you!

So what do we do when only the top magnet engages (no 2nd click) and will no longer grab and slide down or pull the shades up at all?!
Unfortunately, this sounds like it's out of the realm of DIY. Pella would need to come out and service the unit, likely replacing the blinds between the glass. Sorry for the bad news, but we'd be happy to help you get set up with a service call. :)

Oh no. If you're having trouble tilting the blinds closed, you'll either need a new piece of glass or have the slider operator replaced. More than happy to help set that up for you!

What if I only get the snap in you show in the video when I push the magnet toward the top. I can't get the magnets to snap at the lower part of the window? What might be wrong?
A bit iffy on this one. As long as it connects to all the magnets at the top and operates fine the bottom snap isn't necessary. If connected at top but it still isn’t operating properly, you would need new glass with blinds.
Mine are still stuck halfway. I've tried pushing it up to reconnect and get through both of the snaps, but it then it gets halfway down and then snaps hard and falls again to the bottom. Meanwhile the blinds are not rising or lowering anymore. I don't know how to fix it.

My Pella Single Swing Patio Door stopped opening a few months ago. It locks and unlocks, but when the handle rotates to open the door, the latch doesn't move. I have removed everything like what is shown in this video and I cannot get to the latch to move it to open the door. Any suggestions, special tool to hook the latch like the old credit card trick?
You will need a new multipoint lock to replace that one. The latch mechanism is broken. The easiest way to get the door open is to use an oscillating tool with caribe blade. Then, cut a notch in the latch. Doesn’t need to be really deep just enough to get a 5n1 in or a stiff putty knife. This will give you enough grip to push latch into mechanism to open door. From there it’s just replacing old multipoint with new!

What tool did you use, a flathead screw driver? I’ve used a flathead and the hotshot wouldn’t turn. Maybe a wider screwdriver and turn harder?
Yes, that was a wide flathead. Need to use one that can catch the sides of the terminal in order to turn it. Great question! Hope this helps.

I'd recommend getting it to where it's not locked in with the blinds or shades. In the video Brian has it all the way at the bottom when he takes it off.
How did you take the slider off, mine got hit and I need to take off and fix so I can get the magnets working again
Just use a little bit of pressure with your hands to get some leverage underneath and you can pull it right off! Be careful though, this is a 250 series and not every slider operates the same. We definitely don't want you damaging the operation!

Hello, great information. My door will not close by itself, but I must pull the door to close it and it is very difficult to lock, this after a new gasket was installed. My pella tech suggested a new gasket would solve a gap on my door at the bottom which is over half the width of the door, unless the lock is properly engaged. Would you have a suggestion. Thank you
Hey there! Thanks for the comments and definitely, we can put a gasket or weatherstripping replacement on the radar. For now our advice straight from Brian would be that your new weatherstripping will need some time to compress and form to how the door sits when it's in the lock position. Once weatherstripping takes memory to how the door sits, it WILL get easier and easier to lock with time. Hope this helps ease your mind with your new weatherstripping install. My mom has the same door handle. The inside door handle has come off. There is no set screw. How does she fix this?
Well, our first recommendation at this point is to get in touch with your local Pella showroom. We should be able to handle (pun intended) the issue on our side. But, if you'd like to service it yourself, it is possible for you to repair a handle repair kit from Pella. It will come with all the clips and bushings needed to fix the handle set.

I ordered 13 hurricane shield windows via Lowes. My wife and I installed the small ones. But the bigger ones are heavy. To reduce the weight, I want to remove the moving sash, but I can't find a latch or something that allows me to do so. I called Pella and was transferred to an agent from the service department. She insisted on giving her the Lowes sales number so that she can identify the exact window before she can help. Anyway long story short, I don't think she is knowledgeable. I will call again, maybe I get a more knowledgeable person.
Sorry you had that experience. I'm not sure if you were calling in to North Carolina or a different branch, but... it MIGHT be their policy to ask for the number. In any case, let me try answering what you got going on here. For the Hurricane Shield windows I would recommend watching this video: ua-cam.com/video/l3baQVqqxrE/v-deo.htmlsi=8OoSaZTQhSqhzrTI You're going to need to tilt the sash down to 90 degrees, and then lift one side to pop it out, and then do the same for the other side to get it out of the balance. There won't be a latch, just a notch you'll have to look out for. I would also recommend caution as, I'm sure you've noticed, these can be really heavy, so definitely a two person job.
