How does the ride of the model y with unplugged performance luxury suspension compare to the new highland model 3 performance (or the new highland model 3 in general)? There is almost no way to test ride those after market suspension kits so would be nice to have a frame of reference.
You know, hot takes, but all they really need to do is put seat coolers and the MX air suspension in the MY and it's a superior car to the MX. The MX lowkey has a dated (pretty bad) interior, the dash makes the main screen just a giant useless navigation so the dash ruins the screen, stalks are very much superior (don't @ me) and motorized doors aren't really a helpful feature. The MY, honestly, is so close to being a perfect car in its current state imo.
Lol 😂 I also hate those "Tar Lines", especially with FSD on. I get paranoid going over them and usually turn it off then back on. I agree on the 19" wheels, way smoother ride than what the Performance rides on.
When i had to take my MYLR into service i got a bunch of texts telling me they probably wont have any loaners and i better find alternative transportation. Plus, no more Uber vouchers. I lightly complained and they got me a loaner but it looked like a family of 10 (with pets) were just in it.
Same thing happened to me. I got the most filthiest dog hair filled loaner after they made me wait a month to get service but they were going to keep it for a week before they even started the work.... I'm like no.... Call me when ur gonna work on it because I can't Uber 95 miles twice a day to work.... They ended up finding a loaner for me.
Waiting on the new Y. Cancelled my Cyber Truck order. My 2022 Y received Nov. 2021 shakes, rattles and rolls. Love all the software updates and FSA has never been better. But the wife wants the German ride. Would you consider your new 3 as good as a german ride?
@@Gjeebs Last night a truck was behind me and I thought it was a Ford 150 Lightning, but when it passed it was a BYD pickup truck with some weird plates here in Houston, TX. Are we being invaded by BYD? It looked cool.
Weird. My January / February built 2023 Model Y LR with 20” rims has carpeted door pockets, but unfortunately missed the projection headlight build date. This one has the projection headlights, but no carpeted door pockets. I rented a 2021 Model Y LR with 20” rims from Hertz. It felt like a bucket of bolts compared to mine. I’m not sure I would have purchased the car if that was my first experience with a Tesla. BTW, I have the white paint. I will say it is just as durable as most manufacturer’s paint, and a lot more durable than the 2020 BMW in Portmaio Blue that I used to own. I used to have a Soul Red Mazda as well, that was awful also. I’d put the white paint up there in terms of durability after almost 25,000 miles of driving. Over the years from having multiple cars from the same manufacturers (for instance the Mineral Grey BMW I had was probably the most durable paint on a car, versus the Portmaio Blue, which was awful), sometimes paint durability is color dependent.
Hi! quick question. I just ordered my Tesla it hasn’t arrived so I’ve been watching all your videos to prep while I wait for it to be ready in a few days. I ordered the 2024 model y long range awd 20” induction wheels. I have not been able to find info specific to my question regarding charging. I live in an apartment that has a generic EV charging station in my garage that I can use for free charging. Can I use that charging type regularly or will it hurt my battery and do I need to find a Tesla charging station to charge (and only occasionally using my apartment generic charger)? I only anticipate using my car on the weekends since half the week I work from home and the other half I work within walking distance from my office. I’m trying to figure out what kind of charging schedule I need and what will be my primary source of charging. Or do I need to get a Tesla charging chord and ask my apartment about changing spaces to a place where I can plug into a Tesla charger? If you have specific video that covers this please let me know… I’ve just been running through all your videos and haven’t seen anything that specifically answers my question. Thanks!
Any J1772 charger will work fine with your car. I charge mine most of the time with the low power charger. The car will come within an adapter that would work with that charger and it won’t hurt your battery at all initially it was thought that actually those batteries were better than using Superchargers.
@@stevenichols4639 thank you very much!❤️can I just let the battery run down during the week while not in use? And just charge up to the 80% right before the weekend when I plan to drive more?
@@carriecarrie7975 battery level (state of charge) will stay the same just sitting there unless it’s using sentry mode all the time. I work from home and occasionally the car sits for 3-4 days and it’s within 1 or 2% of where I left it. I charge about once a week as well so charging to 80% Friday before driving on the weekends would work fine.
@@dannyboy480-y4mVery cool - thank you. I went to ASU and left Tempe in 1992, and obviously it looks unrecognizable to me. I loved my time there, and it sure looks different now! I love my 2024 Model 3 Performance with FSD - enjoy your Tesla, and thank you for your content!
When I was researching the Tesla specifically the model y there was never a mention about road noises nor stiff suspension. Just flowering comments about how it is the best car they’ve ever driven. Now that I purchased my Model Y all I hear about is complaint la of stiff noisy ride! And I can most assuredly see why after owning it! Yes I test drove it but a 20 minute ride doesn’t tell a story .
Just but a used Audi Etron at this point 😂😂😂. 30k or less and EVERYTHING a Tesla forgot what makes a decent car, is upgraded to luxury at the same price 💯✌🏽
funny comment when over 1 billion Model Ys were sold worldwide in 2023 and barely any sales for the Etron in comparison. I came from Audi to Tesla and never looked back. Nobody wants an Audi Etron. Also it has an abysmal predicted reliability rating, at 62 of 100.
