You are doing a great thing preserving this car for future people to see! Don't listen to the naysayers! You do what makes you happy, so long as it harms no one else!!

Tip for rusty bolts... If you can get it to move a little, work it back and forth until it gets easy. This is basically the best way to get old exhaust manifold bolts/studs out without breaking them as often. Also, a squirt bottle (adjustable one with stream and spray is best) with some WD40 or really anything, even water, is better than trying to get that stuff loose with no lube.

I just pulled what was likely the original of spark plugs out of a 1984 Fiero (120K miles) and this was the only way they came out (well 3 of them, the first one was loose!). They had been soaking in oil from the valve cover. Even then it was a very stressful removal. I basically did a half turn loose, quarter turn tighten until I got them out and I'm glad I took my time and used a simple 3/8 rachet as the porcelain was cracked on them, I honestly don't think they would of come out if I tried any other way.
😎Engine is now running smooth, it's amazing that the Iron Duke was able to run in that state.

I have a 1987 ,this was my first car that I purchased. It still looks like the day I brought it. The Fiero takes a lot of TLC. They are beautiful cars. I salute you and your efforts to keep the Fiero around. Great work, keep it up, your doing a fantastic job!

Have you ever done a mechanical conversion? Awesome is not the word I would use for the abomination you suggest.

Try some exhaust wrap to help with engine temperature in the engine bay

I have done two auto to manual swaps. Find another fiero makes it easier. The pedals up front are the toughest part. To make life easier order new clutch line master and slave cylinder. You can leave auto rad in. The neutral safety switch needs a wire ran from auto switch. Good luck. I’m working on my last fiero project. My unicorn a 88gt she’s a 5spd putting a sc 3800 in her. Oh yes if you do a manual swap you will need a 2.8 manual computer too.

I basically did a manual swap on an 88 formula I had. I swapped everything from one rotted chassis to a rust free chassis. The pedals were the toughest part. But I found that you can take an apart the pedal assembly and bolt on the clutch pedal without removing the entire thing. I’m going to try that and see if it works. I took all of my parts from another car. Everything else is new

Great work Kyle, my partner Daniel would love to connect with you. We love your content, he plans on putting a C5 Z06 motor in his 1986 Fiero GT we just bought. We could really use your advice, thank you.

Well done . I have a low milage 87 gt leaks badly. I park it on cardboard. My 85 gt with a 4spd and almost 98,000 miles doesn't leak a drop and runs really well.
    Really enjoy your video's.

That rot looks like the absolute perfect excuse for a lightweight tubular rear subframe... just saying ;)

You should do a video on how to do a manual swap. There's forums about it but no visual representation!

People will suggest either a 3.8 supercharged engine or a smallblock. Screw that. I suggest either a newer 2.0 turbo GM with 6speed OR even better, the GM 3.6 V6. lotso f horsepower, lots of revs, and will sound better than either the 2.8 or the 3.8. It should be lighter to as it's all aluminum. If you don't mind an automatic, pull the whole thing from an Impala. I'd figure out a 6spd though if it was mine.
You could find a 3.9 V6/6speed from a Pontiac G6. Not sure what other cars this engine was in. If I remember correctly it was the last evolution of what started out as you 2.8 V6. They made something like 240hp with no boost

take the time and do a 3800 supercharged swap ... you will love the insane speed

What rims do you have on this car? Somewhat easy engine swap would be the DOHC 3.4 that came in Lumina z/34.

Does the air suspension handle better then the suspension you had on the car ?
