Good advice, Gus! I had a bad experience with Inkbird controllers. I went through two before I gave up and bought something more robust. That Inkbird spoiled a lot of honey on me! I now use a Johnson Controls A421 controller and it's been operating flawlessly for a couple of years now. You can see my cabinet build on my channel if you're interested. Thanks for your content!
@@brettjurgens2638 The inkbird malfunctioned and failed to shut off overheating the honey and potentially burning my building down. They replaced it but the second unit was no different. My installation fell well inside their installation requirements. Their customer service department ended up just ghosting me so I had to look elsewhere.
After hearing that this has happened to other people, I think I'm going to buy a second unit as a backup failsafe to run in a series. I've had it happen to me in a small box but I use one that holds 20 gallon now and that would be a major loss to scortching
Good video Gus. One question I wonder about with these boxes is whether the fan is mounted to draw outside air into the cabinet (or push it out)... or is it simply to circulate inside air only? Have you ever used your cabinet to dry honey? Thx
I just inherited a warming cabinet from my mentor who decided it was time to hang up his bee jacket. The cabinet has an old thermostat from a chicken incubator that I want to convert to digital. Do you have a picture of the interior? You mentioned you were going to post some, but I don't see any. Thanks Gus.
I show the interior in a few videos, I don’t have any pics. I just have the thermostat probe taped up and you can see the light bulbs in the vid. Nothing too complicated.
@@tomamato216 oh ok it’s a muffin fan, they have 4 bolts on them so I drilled 2 holes diagonal 1 top and 1 bottom, then just shove it in there, friction fit I guess. Nothing fancy.
Pretty much the same set up as I have, you may wanta ck into incubator heaters, are much more accurate an will only use half the electricity. Just a thought. !! We have several warming cabinets, an do barrels ,buckets and bottles
That's the best information out there on this subject. You did an awesome job 👏. You helped out a lot of up and coming beekeepers, Gus.
Thanks
Thanks, Gus, going today and picking up the freezer. Keep the videos coming.
I've got pretty much the same commercial refrigerator setup.
Great content in all your videos Gus. Really helpful to those of us between the hobby and the commercial level. Keep up the good work. Thanks!
Thanks for this great information. That parts list really helps out . I hope you have a great season. Thanks
Loving the recycling aspect 💪
Thanks a lot Gus. Just converted a refrigerator thanks to you.
Thanks for sharing man. The warmer will make things so much easier for you!
@@gusmitchellcranesnesthoney6529 I think you are right.

Can you elaborate on how it spoiled the honey? I'm a little confused

@@ThatBeeMan gotcha. For some reason my brain never thought of overheating and carmelizing when you said spoiled...

Nice video Gus! I keep mine at 110 and does the job.
Great idea. I'll be building one.

Are you using 100w incandescent bulb or led?
Great video!
Yes, incandescent.

It’s only meant to circulate the air inside.
I haven’t used it to dry honey but I have used it as a queen cell incubator
Gus is your fan running all the time or does it kick on when the lights are on?
I think it should run all the time

@Gus Mitchell- Cranes Nest Honey I actually wanted to see your fan setup from the inside. Thanks anyway. I enjoy your videos.
