  • This is an extensive look at Born Free 4 brought to you by: www.lowbrowcustoms.com
When motorcycle aficionados Mike Davis and Grant Peterson conceived their Born Free experience, they had no idea their little bike show would grow into the grandest and most eagerly anticipated celebration of custom motorcycle style and culture in the world. Born Free's location in Southern California - the heart of American motorcycle customizing - only intensifies this event's impact and allure. "Born Free 4" gives a behind-the-scenes peek into the planning and craftwork required to bring hundreds of motorcycle-industry players, 3,000 show bikes and over 10,000 bike riders and rabid fans to the rolling hills and green pastures of SoCal's beautiful Santiago Canyon for a day of music and machinery among great friends.

The artistry that goes into these bikes, you would think, is something that could be appreciated by everyone from any walk of life. These builders have every reason to be proud, very proud.

Love it Love it Love it. I'm 63 been riding everything you could imagine since I was 9. So really nice to see builders who love what their doing instead of doing it for the money so refreshing. Great concept, man I wish I would have thought of that. Great Awesome job guy's please keep it up. I live right outside Philly and haven't been to Sturgis yet ( my dream ) but now I'm thinking you just gave me my new dream. Going to talk to my Boy's and try to put something together and hopefully see you on the next one. Thanks for making an ole biker happy 😄

Like the one guy said, I couldn't tell you what my favorite bike is because you forget the last bike you saw cause the next bike pushes it out of your head.
That's why the 1970's term (FAR OUT)! summed up that era of customization.

I am working on making my sporty more of my style. I am looking for Comfort and style along with a bigger tank it’s a slow go but it’s getting there. Videos like this help me get my creative juices going. The guy from NJ never been to a place in NJ called chatter box. I grow up about half an hour from south Hackensack. There is big groups that meet up you just have to look. No state has an event like born free. That’s why it’s so great

9:57 Caleb Owens 76 FLH is probably my favorite bike featured on here! Such a unique look for that type of bike. You can blast around town or take it to the drag strip. It just has a tuff look to it and I love those old AMF tanks with the very 70’s look with the choice of colors for the tanks striping and logo against a plane all one color tank!! So well done brother!!!!

There's a bike in nova scotia built with 2 motors, it's been around for awhile, built by a guy named Mike who owned toads cycle in Dartmouth NS, neat thing is the motors are side by side and one of them runs backwards from original meaning alot of parts in the motor had to be custom made.

I built a couple choppers and took them on road trips, my back started bothering me, i took a year off from riding and bought a Street Glide and i'm enjoying it, you can still do mods and make it your own, i put s 23 inch wheel on it and gonna travel and enjoy. Bikes are bikes, i still like Choppers but the roads up here in Chicago are too rough.

At all of the Born Free shows the stars are on the field. You could do 2 hours out there and it would not be enough. Try showing some of those bikes on future videos. The builder bikes are cool but garage builds, some of those were way cool!

I like the understated stylized look of some of these bikes. Reminds me of bikes I used to see on the street in the 1970s. They don't rely on flashy chrome, engraving and complex paintjobs to get their message across. They still have a garage-builder appearance that gives them a tasteful appeal. Don't get me wrong, I love the big spendy glitzy bikes at a lot of shows, but these bikes show that's not all there is. Very nice.

I have got to make the trip to this show! Every year I say I am but someone in the crew will pussyfooted out or ha e an emergency come up. I just don’t wanna ride that far without 2 or 3 fellas. I wanna bring my first ever bike which is also my first hard tail bobber. It’s a 1979 Kawasaki KZ1000. It’s super dependable but just having backup would be nice! I’d love to bring my knuckle but that’s a far trip to ride then get a good ways there and have it breakdown and miss the show. Eventually I wanna do a cross country ride hitting all the big fest and events on my knuckle like Giddy Up, Born Free, Mana Tried, Fuel Cleveland, Brooklyn, so I and so forth. But this next year def gonna do born free on the Kawasaki! It’s stripped down basic, badass, fast as fuck so it’ll be lots of fun! Anyways love the video and the festival looks like the thrill of a lifetime. As long as theirs shows like this Sturgis will never make it on the list. All the footage I ever see seems like it’s just new baggers and Orange County style choppers with every piece of chrome they can possibly fit on a bike, with absurdly large wheels and lo pro tires. Meanwhile I’d role up with stock wired spike wheels painted black from a 39 knuckle head with what looks like car tires with 200 sidewalls on a 13 inch rim lol. And it’s seems to be a lot of sloppy old men being Percy to young topless bar maidens with giant fake tits that look like two zeppelins in a dead heat hahaha LOL!!!! Yeah so I’ve gone off on quite a digression here so please forgive me and I will see you in 2022 at Born Free 14!!!!

if you are building a chopper. you are going to need to make a seat pan and get it custom made.
