Multiple Sclerosis and Slowly Expanding SELs, oh and a very overdue update on my hospital appointment consultation.
This video was recorded about 7 weeks ago but I just never posted it due to one thing or another. Mainly because I was getting through some personal issues, I had Covid (again) and then I have really been struggling with extremely low mood (I like to avoid the word depression if I can) which as I'm sure you can appreciate if you've ever been through it makes you want to shut yourself off from the world.
Anyway, this video is in no way any professional advice or information on SELs and their link to MS, or guidance of any kind - I am simply trying to understand and navigate this disease and make what I can from it.
If anyone is interested, here is a bit of information that I did manage to come across from a blog written by someone who has MS himself. The link is here www.everydayhe...
I will also put more links below for those who are interested in a deeper read on this.

Great video but can I point out something, when you drew the third circle, look how accurately you re-drew around it indirectly looking at it! WTF, That is some very good eye hand coordination! Take care Laura
My hand eye has always been pretty good 😊 not sure I've ever tried it not directly looking at it though - new skills??! 😂 Hope you're keeping well, good to hear from you
Thankyou. I still can't come to turns with my diagnosis
Sorry, I know it can be very difficult. My thoughts are with you
Thanks Laura, very helpful as always.
Well done Laura. Thank you for this👍😊
You drawing on that white sheet of paper reminded me of a scene from Event horizon. They also talk about black holes, a different type but with a similar outcome :/
One to miss then maybe?! These black holes get everywhere..
So pleased that your appointment went well. I have to say that after all these years this is the first time I had heard the term Sels! I will be googling this some more and asking my neurologist about them next week at my appointment.
Thank you. Honestly first time I'd heard about it too, but extremely interesting to read up on. It will be interesting to know if you find out any more information. Hope you're well.
I love learning something new about this disease. It helps when you visit your neurologist if you know what questions to asks. Thanks Laura 😊❤
Hi Lisa, you're welcome. Wow and there is a lot to learn! I was so lucky that she was so open and happy to take some time out to explain it, all good stuff. Hope you're well, P. S Still loving our blanket, and the amount of comments I get on it is just wonderful 😍 #doglife
@@lauraironstalksms Thankyou so much, so pleased you love it, it makes what I do worthwhile. Hope your good too. 😊❤️
HELLO BEAUTIFUL!
I'm happy to hear you're doing well with your MS. I've never heard about SELs. Thank you for the lesson. To my understanding, black holes are old lesions that were so intense that in their aftermath, they permanently killed some of the brain, leaving the black holes on the mri. I'm definitely no doctor, but I do have a lot of black holes.😒
This will explain better than I can.

As for back pain. Have you ever tried cold? While heat feals good on sore muscles, cold is better for healing and inflammation. When I say cold, I mean COLD. 🥶
Thank you, Laura, for your insite on SELs and another great video. 👍 😘
Hello you 👋😊.. You're very welcome, looks like there's a few people (including me) who didn't know about these. There's a bit of reading material floating around so it's worth having a read.
Thanks for the link, I'll take a look at that now 👍. I used to take freezing cold showers pretty much everyday, but then I stopped after reading something - or maybe my Mum mentioned something to be that wasn't so good and because I trust my Mum and Mum's know best I stopped. I think maybe an ice pack on the back would be better than heat I agree 👍. Actually, touch wood my back has been great the past 3-4 weeks because of my new morning stretches and back mat 😊
Anyway, I hope you're doing well and are beating MS your way, God knows it can be a maze of perplexity sometimes but knowledge is power 💪
