That brought it all back for me .A young 12yr old girl watching TOTP in 1973 .Roxy Music singing Streetlife and seeing Bryan it just hit me between the eyes !! From then on completely addicted !! I will always remember my Dad's face when he took me to Woolworths to treat me to an LP. I chose Countrylife ! With the rude cover ! It was £3.99 !
one of the greatest bands of any era....music died in the second half of the 90s but Roxy are one of those whose music will live on forever...quality knows no time.... even now when you introduce someone to RM they are stunned by the depth and range of their music....not one passenger in this band...everyone a true contributor...not many bands can say that..
I'm a Roxy Music devotee. From the moment I heard and gasped at the audacity and sheer cleverness of In Every Dream Home A Heartache from For Your Pleasure, I latched on and have never let go. My music vocabulary was greatly expanded by them and the music and ATMOSPHERE their sounds absorbed into my psyche. In other words I LOVED THEM. Superb does not do them justice. When I heard they were going to be FINALLY nominated for the Hall, I marshalled my fellow Roxy friends on a get out the vote campaign to make sure the objects of our intense fandom would be heard and rewarded. The induction last year was a validation of why VOTING counts. I WISH I could have been at the induction ceremony. The choice of two members of Duran Duran to induct them was a no brainer. In my mind another person who could an equally as well induction was Nile Rodgers of Chic. He named his band as a homage to Roxy Music. That homage and Nile's deep musical knowledge and tastes mirror my own. I feel a kinship with him on multiple levels. VIVA Roxy Music!

I grew up in a small town in Utah I read an article in circus magazine about Roxy Music this was 1975 I had to order their album stores didn't carry it I believe Roxy Music becomes a way of life
Sad how there's no music these days worth listening too or as creative as Roxy Music was..... I had the privilege of seeing them from backstage twice at the Academy of Music in NYC mid to late 70's if my memory serves me..... incredible band live too....
They were one of the best Live bands to ever play at the R&R HOF. Amazing, considering their ages. Bryan Ferry & Roxy Music have their 50 yr tour in 2022! Well deserved induction! 💯
All 8 Roxy Albums have a special magic to them that has inspired musicians since the 70s - even Bowie has loved Bryan Ferry's songwriting. I hope more kids these days will take the time to listen to Roxy Music and take something from them.
The eighties was filled with real artists MJ, Prince, George Michael, Queen Red and so many more..I will add Madonna as she was incredibly successful during the eighties. A well deserved award for Roxy Music but was long overdue......If only music on the radio today, was half has good as what Roxy produced during the seventies and eighties.
Just announced a 50th Anniversary Tour and I have my ticket for DC (my girlfriend who lives in Holland can't make it). Quite possibly last rock concert I'll ever catch. But since it's Roxy, I'll be going out like Ted Williams.

Roxy Music deserved better. Yes i am a musical snob, i call it...`standards`. Im quite confident most music lovers would agree.
