- His Dark Materials, the BBC-HBO adaptation of Philip Pullman's best-selling fantasy trilogy, has returned to our screens.
Here the cast and crew of series 3, including Ruth Wilson (Mrs Coulter) and Amir Wilson (Will Parry), visit the BFI IMAX to introduce the final series of the show and explain what's happened to Lyra Belacqua and how her father's battle against the Authority is about to come to a head.

Philip Pullman is Executive Producer and he has approved of the adaptation, so that’s good enough for me.
This series is easily one of the best book to screen adaptations. It's adapted so faithfully from the novels it's crazy. HBO is doing it a disservice not marketing it much unlike their other shows.

I’ve never read the books and HDM really was one of the most cinematic and well told stories on TV lately, they did beyond amazing escpecially considering the budget
Agreed. They had nothing like the budget of a Game of Thrones or the bigger Netflix productions like 1899, etc., and could have done great things with that extra money. But they kept with the core of the book and it makes it excellent watching. Plus the daemons look fantastic.
The only time I subscribe to HBO was every time this series come out. Always worth it!

They put a lot of effort to add all the most important details in this finale. I have read the books and watched so many adaptations. Many of them were disappointment. But the His Dark Materials series was overall good work for me and I loved it.
Everything about this story and adaptation was brilliant! The cast was exceptional..I cannot rave enough about it.

I watched the whole season,i don't like fantasy series cuz the writer has their own laws,but cuz Dafne is my crush i watched this season,by the way RIP PHYSICS 🤣🤣
Maybe they can explain why they ruined the adaption and completely demolished Will as a character as well as screwup so badly his father’s death scene

I’m kinda happy they changed the death scene. It felt so random in the books, like you rejected me so you die. It felt really off for me
