- ASMR version. Surviving -20°c or -4°f Winter Camping in the Snow under Full Moon, Winter Ambience, Sounds for sleep, relaxing, study, anxiety relief - NO TALKING just relaxing ambience and ASMR sounds.
Cozy cold tent camping in winter, without a fire. Using my Hilleberg Nallo 3 & Hyperlite Mountaingear Southwest 4400 backpack, I wanted to go out backpacking & camping high up in the mountains of the North. The forecast said no wind, dead calm with minus -20°c or -4°F. I choose skis for this mountain trip. It was wild and beautiful as I found a spot in the open to pitch my tent under the full moon. I brought coffee & food and found some true peace with wonderful views of the moon and mountains. No hot tent in my videos.

About me: I am an adventurer and wilderness explorer. My youtube channel focus on outdoor wilderness adventures and exploration, backpacking, hiking, canyoneering, skiing, climbing and mountaineering. Nights spent in a tent, alone or with friends. From the snow covered mountains and misty fjords of the North, to the remote plateaus of Yellowstone and the debts of the red canyons of Utah to the summit of Mt Whitney and the heart of Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park. I love the Wilderness!

I'm at 34 minutes and I thought to myself. After all he has done I bet that was the best sip of coffee ever ☕
Haha, yes, those cups are amazing!
I'd add a few chunks of pre-cooked bacon as a snack along with the coffee.

Hi. LIKE. LIKE. BEAUTIFUL. GORGEOUS. SCENERIES. LANDSCAPE. AWESOME. HIKING. CAMPING.
Thank you!
Love your content very pleasant.
Can't wait for winter again and see you snuggled up in a blanket as it snows covering your entire tent. I always feel like I'm with you there. Thanks for all the content you do for us I really appreciate it keep it up!
Thank you so much!
@@NorwegianXplorerlike the previous poster implied, the feeling is so ambient, it’s almost as if the viewer was there in person.
Thanks Oleg
So cool and refreshing to watch. Heat and humidity nearly everyday here in the US Midwest now. Then storms. Repeat. Done with Summer lol.
Lol, I thought you might like some winter at this point:-)
I know some people do not think that snow is beautiful but I am not one of them. I love the snow. Very soothing video. Enjoyed this very much. Stay safe and warm.
Thank you, snow is beautiful, unless it is in the cities
What a stunning location ! So still, isolated... total freedom... Beautiful...
Couldn't agree more!
always love when you made a cup of coffee and ate the gourmat in the middle of the snow it seemed really tasty with an amazing scenery 👍
Thank you so much!
You certainly are dedicated Jarl and I admire that. Walking in your skis over the snow you looked like a spaceman exploring the surface of some icy planet in our solar system. Thank you for such a relaxing video. 💯👍🏻
Thanks 👍 Vonda
Grand vast snowy frozen wilderness. With Jarl and it appears no other living thing! I've only watched the beginning of this video but by all appearances it's a great one through and through! And I'm glad the sun was shining. 🌞
Glad you enjoyed it Stan!
👋Hey there Norwegian Xplorer,
As always, another wonderful video from start to finish.
Always enjoyable to watch & I always love seeing the snow & the blue sky by day.
Nice clear cinematography & the colours are vivid, crisp & clear abound.
Tusen takk for sharing & I will soon watch your most recent video.
Peace✌
Glad you enjoyed it
Greetings Jarl, what a magnificent place absolutely gorgeous, the moon was beautiful, power to you looks like you were warm and had a good sleep,I wouldn't be sleeping there without heat no way ,thanks for sharing stay safe
Thank you, yes I slept, but it took me forever to melt the water, right on the border of what is possible using winter propane cannisters
I'm at 47 minutes ! The most beautiful image : the full moon so kindly smiling at that lonely human being : the red man near his read tent....
Thank you Regine:-)
Amazing Camping Adventure Jarl !!
🙏
Second part min. 48 - Awakening with a pure blue sky without any cloud, beautiful atmosphere ! - It is quite a job setting up and breaking off the tent. I wonder if you don't have a painful back afterwards.... Also putting on and taking off all your trousers, snow- and skishoes etc... And FILMING ! Thanks for letting us participate a lot of episodes in your life, Jarl ! Always worth seeing ! 😆
(Part one : I meant : red tent (not read), faute d'orthographe !)
Haha, yes, it is quite a lot of work everything while filming, but not breaking up camp, that is pretty fast actually
Just gorgeous. I am looking forward to visiting my son in Sweden!
Thank you! Have fun!
This was an awesome video!! Thoroughly enjoyed! It is always a pleasure seeing your fabulous camping, skiing, and hiking videos. But this was an extra treat!! Blessings.

The moon is beautiful
Indeed!
Wonderful video. I love that its takes time, no music , natural sound, just to the core of the experience. I also love your comments though 😊 be always safe and greet mother earth. Greets from bavaria😊
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you!
Wow I'm amazed very much Everytime you have new video I'm watching God bless

So beautiful place
It really is!
❤ OMG this place is beautiful as always. Definitely we have excessive heat and heat advisorys so seeing this cold and snow is wonderful. Stay warm and safe, least its not raining like ur last ones. Definitely miss ur voice talking but natural sounds are good to. ❤❤ 💜 💕 From Kansas ❤️💚💙
Thanks Pat, I thought you would enjoy some cold now
I'm with you, on your "heat" reply.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
@@NorwegianXplorer O yes most definitely ❣️❣️. I hate this heat you can't take off enough clothes to be cooler. Love this Thanks for taking us with you. 💕 💜
@@azclaimjumper I know I hate this heat you don't feel like doing anything.... 💕
Did the temperatures improve in Reno, Bill?
Oh I love your adventures just perfect greeting from the UK
Awesome! Thank you!
So nice to see and hear a winter video, Here in Florida the heat with humidity has been brutal. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching!
We didn't get much snow around these parts last year so I didn't get my fill of winter camping. I love summer but I'm actually looking forward to winter to get to do more snow shoeing and camping.
Yeah, winter is amazing
so mesmorising thank you so much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Looked so cold. The silent version is fine. I rather hear your narration though. My hands almost got frost bite while you broke camp. Lol. Keep safe bud and thanks for giving us this experience!!
Thanks Butch, there is a shorter version with narration as well, this one is for the ASMR crowd:-)
Дзякуй вельми тикава , респект .
Thank you!
Excellent video Jarl. I really enjoyed all the natural sounds. One thing i did notice is you took time to admire the beauty of the night sky which was lovely. Can i ask you if you have seen any unusual sightings in the night sky of UFOs or any unusual paranormal sounds while been alone in your tent? I hope you dont think im crazy asking this?
Regards
Matthew

Good Question
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
Thanks Matt, I have not seen anything unusual, but sometimes one might see a different kind of military aircraft that is not common, especially over the desert at night
Say hello from indonesia alam yang sangat menakjubkan👍🇮🇩🇮🇩
Hello!
Sitting in the Utah desert today, that snow looks pretty good about now.
How hot is it in your part of Utah?
Very good !
Thank you! Cheers!
Hi. LIKE. LIKE. SNOW.
You are definitely a four season backpacker! How do you prevent frostbite on the bare skin of your face? I would think you would need a balaclava and snow glasses. I salute your determination, durability and toughness! You are solo on this trek - incredibly solo! So well documented!
Thank you, my skin handle cold pretty well, the problem at these temperatures is when I need to take of my gloves to film, it gets cold pretty fast, but I use some thin woolen liners for my gloves that helps, I can manage most of my filming with those on.
@@NorwegianXplorer I didn't ask about bare hands. But in the winter when I'm cleaning the driveway of snow my fingers get so cold. It is very painful! Yes on the glove liners.
Oh, the face, I have never had a problem with that unless it is very windy, but then again if it is very windy it is usually not that cold. I do bring a face mask, balaclava and a woolen buff just in case to be able to cover my face.
i dig the booties 😊❤. seen Eric Normarkuse similar booties on some of his trips !!!
Yes, I have seen that too
Lindo vídeo parabéns amo lugar assim pois adoro ver neve ainda você mostrou aluá e estrela muito bom seu vídeo parabéns Deus te abençoe
Thanks, you too!
2:04; looks like the snow has a hard crusty surface.
5:39; I knew you were preparing the snow surface prior to pitching your tent when I saw you methodically stomping a shape on the snow with your skis. Beautiful clear blue sky.
14:05; Textbook tent pitch - Hilleberg would be proud.
31:03; Time for coffee right after the tent is pitched & your "stuff" is organized inside the tent. I've gotten to know your routine, Jarl.
38:44; Is that going to be a hot water bottle at the foot of your sleeping bag?
40:14; wondering WHY you've not piled snow around the tent perimeter
40:40; There it is, Real Turmat Freeze Dried meal about to be hydrated & then consumed.
58:04; Good closeup of the Hilleberg YKK COIL zipper, NO TEETH. All zippers on all Hilleberg tents are YKK COIL zippers, no teeth to snag.
No need for any dialog, the beautiful scenery speaks for itself.
Do you refill the partially empty gas canisters so you always begin an adventure with a FULL fuel canister?
1:01:39; Is that a radio tower on top of that peak?
1:03:17; no wind as you're breaking camp, just a beautiful day with intense blue skies
1:23:00; Love the roll down tops on a backpack
I watch long videos like this one in 30 minutes segments.
Warm Regards from Reno, Nevada U.S.A.
Thanks Bill, the forecast was for chilling cold weather with no wind, so didnt need to pile the snow for this one, I made two hot water bottles for this one if I remember right, this was right at the limit of what the winter propane cannisters could do so the boiling took forever, bought a multifuel burner foe next winter season, so that should be interesting.
@@NorwegianXplorerI cut off the toe box of an old wool pair of socks that I put around my fuel canister. Prevents condensation from forming on the fuel canister when being used + it's easier to sleep with than a bare metal canister.
Yeah, that should help, I do not sleep with my cannisters usually, I just let it take its time.
Hey this was amazing footage and an amazing adventure! Thank you for sharing with us. I’m not sure we can pick up those stove cartridges here anywhere in the states. I just use my msr white gas stove in that kind of cold. Only problem with white gas is you can’t use it in your tent vestibule. Also curious about how you keep your water bottles from freezing in those crazy temps? I use the zippered cozies but I’m not sure they’re working at -20F like where you were here. I also liked those hip high camp bootie thingies. Are those available internationally? Just curious. Good stuff here sir. You take care and I’m honestly looking forward to some winter trips this year.
Peace be with you. NQU
Also, how do you pack your pack with bare hands?? Oh my goodness!!
Hello, the winter canisters are made by Coleman, so should be available, you have to take care with ventilation of course. I boil water and have in the Nalgenes and put them in my sleeping bag for extra warmth. The footbags are made by Helsport a Norwegian brand
@@NorwegianXplorer ok. Sounds good about all. I will check out Coleman here and see if they find them. Does the Norwegian footbag company sell to the states? Thanks again sir, for all your hardwork!
I am not sure, google Helsport Footbags and see what you find
@@NorwegianXplorer ok. Will do. Thank you for the tips!
What size backpack is that which you are carrying here? I lived and was cold in Canada for several decades and never really enjyed the winters, but watching your video, beer in hand, while it is 88 degrees Fahrenheit outside - it's wonderful to enjoy the cold vicariously this way. ;)
Haha, that is great to hear, enjoy your beer! The cold needs to be in a pretty place, right? This backpack is 70 L, maybe a little too small for a winter trip like this
You.are.amazing.
Wow, thank you!
hi what cameras do you use to shoot 4k 60fps hdr? thanks
I use a Sony a7mk4

Te salut cu respect, nu-ți ingheata mainile la -20 grade ?
Salutari si multa putere.
Thank you:-)
