I am 2000s kid and still really like M83 tbh. I kind of like some old songs but they are not my favorite. However, M83 combines an 80s feel with a modern/electronic feel which I think I really like.
Top 3 Life Musics. This song have a unique softness... Transcends. Brings me good memories of the past and motivates me for what will come. Love Love Love.
Wake me up from the long way that we've come Just to find out that it's all been said and done But we'll do it again and say it's all in our heads Something automatic when you speak before you think And you walk beside yourself to pass the time If you never play the game you never lose anyway See the photograph on an empty wall Pictures of a life I can't call my own I need a love that won't do me wrong Waiting for the sound of a false alarm The pictures all that I know So afraid to unravel what we've made Out of everything that changed before our eyes You see the turning of the tide will bring us back to the shore Take a photograph when it starts to fade to black Someday you might never know if I was there It's the harder that you try that makes it hard to let go See the photograph on an empty wall Pictures of a life I can't call my own I need a love that won't do me wrong Waiting for the sound of a false alarm The pictures all that I know See the photograph Are the pictures real? See the photograph Are the pictures real? Want the pictures to be real Want the pictures
repeated listens make this album tight!. its an album, it flows. into my 4th trip through the album. and my fav song keeps changing. cant wait for summer this feels like a summer night kinda vibe. good times without prejudice. and well its got beck.
I always listen to an album that I expect to like more than once for this exact reason. There are so many Radiohead albums that I didn't get on my first listen but that I love now.
The hook is so damn catchy. Really loving this album the more I am listening to it. This is just a lot of fun. And yes it does remind me a bit of Random Access Memories from Daft Punk. Keep on reinventing M83 !
I can't stop using this as a go-to song. The chorus is incredible, fuckin' Beck at it again! WIDE OPEN was indeed a good song also with THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS.
+Manuel Chamate If Becks on the track, you know there's gonna be some sweet as hell bass. (also Beck's bassists has been working with M83 for years and he's real good)
Check out the movie "The Guest" then. It has amazing soundtrack, similar to M83 and it's amazing. I mean not just the songs but the movie as well. You'll be surprised how perfectly the songs match to the story and the athmosphere even if it sets in these days and not in the '80s.
Love this song for the most part, but I always end up waiting for the snare to come back at the end, but it never doeeees, it just fades off...I'm sure that's the point, but it just leaves it sort of incomplete for me. Ah well, still good.
I’d never head this song before until Alexa played it in Satin Jackets shuffle. While I still don’t think they go together, I love that she did it. I love M83 and Satin Jackets separately lol
Make the decision that it won't stay that way but it is hard for him at first and think it's better if you wait for the right time all this to avoid going back to the same
WTF HAPPENED TO M83. holy shit this is like a weak r&b album you can sip wine to in a turtle neck. how are u gonna follow up hurry up were dreaming and all the amazing tracks from we own the sky, moon child,i guess I'm floating, intro, outro, omg man this is horrible and its my birthday. born in 1987. fuck please drop the HEAT i know you have it anthony. take it off ur hD and upload it. PLEASEEEEE I've been waiting for this album for so long
Look at your comment then get back too me. You just explained how many times they've reinvented themselves. Like imp on child would have never made it on huwd people would has trashed that song. I noticed you take things from the less experimental albums as examples. Before the dawn heals us is my favorite album. The album that came after before the dawn was so different. But the thing you need to understand is that artists do this kinda thing all the time.
you cant make the artist release only the type of music YOU want to hear, thats why they are called musicians, not your fucking slaves, therefore they can release what ever the fuck they want
people who appreciate 80's music and introspective music will love this M83 album
Yeah, it's like 80's-90's music recreated in 2016
I am 2000s kid and still really like M83 tbh. I kind of like some old songs but they are not my favorite. However, M83 combines an 80s feel with a modern/electronic feel which I think I really like.

Wake me up from the long way that we've come
Just to find out that it's all been said and done
But we'll do it again and say it's all in our heads
Something automatic when you speak before you think
And you walk beside yourself to pass the time
If you never play the game you never lose anyway
See the photograph on an empty wall
Pictures of a life I can't call my own
I need a love that won't do me wrong
Waiting for the sound of a false alarm
The pictures all that I know
So afraid to unravel what we've made
Out of everything that changed before our eyes
You see the turning of the tide will bring us back to the shore
Take a photograph when it starts to fade to black
Someday you might never know if I was there
It's the harder that you try that makes it hard to let go
See the photograph on an empty wall
Pictures of a life I can't call my own
I need a love that won't do me wrong
Waiting for the sound of a false alarm
The pictures all that I know
See the photograph
Are the pictures real?
See the photograph
Are the pictures real?
Want the pictures to be real
Want the pictures
Thank you ❤

2:37 and on makes this a legit 80's song Becks voice right there is just pure 80's new wave ballad like for real.
Everything Beck lends his touch to ends up producing something quite unique. What an amazing artist.
Beck collaborations never dissapoints :D !! Also, one of the best albums of the year
repeated listens make this album tight!. its an album, it flows. into my 4th trip through the album. and my fav song keeps changing. cant wait for summer this feels like a summer night kinda vibe. good times without prejudice. and well its got beck.

The hook is so damn catchy. Really loving this album the more I am listening to it.
This is just a lot of fun.
And yes it does remind me a bit of Random Access Memories from Daft Punk.
Keep on reinventing M83 !
Totally reminds me of Random Access Memories…
just discovered this and I’m obsessed.
I've come to really like this song and this album over the years. I listen to it on rotation much more than Hurry Up, I've come to realize.
I can't stop using this as a go-to song. The chorus is incredible, fuckin' Beck at it again! WIDE OPEN was indeed a good song also with THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS.
This album means so much for me
The most underrated song
Hauntingly beautiful and melancholic. A very moving and personal piece of music.
The bass in this one is rad af.
+Manuel Chamate If Becks on the track, you know there's gonna be some sweet as hell bass. (also Beck's bassists has been working with M83 for years and he's real good)
Really? I didin't know that Justin Meldal-jonhsen was working with M83. He's a badass bassist.
+Manuel Chamate his daughter does some vocals on for the kids

how about schmaltzy? like this album.. but here the schmaltz is pure gold
Nothing's cheesy when it's Beck!
Love this song for the most part, but I always end up waiting for the snare to come back at the end, but it never doeeees, it just fades off...I'm sure that's the point, but it just leaves it sort of incomplete for me. Ah well, still good.

I got it on with my lady to this song.. 9 months later she gave birth to a Fender Precision Bass.
La sensación que produce en mí es increíble!

I’d never head this song before until Alexa played it in Satin Jackets shuffle. While I still don’t think they go together, I love that she did it. I love M83 and Satin Jackets separately lol
Favourite song!
Video this song please!!! I liked
I knew Dream Academy and M83 were similiar.
absolute banger. also relatable
I keep on thinking the lyric is "She's a photograph on an empty roll."
Two words: Hall & Oates
my favorite song))
Is this something about you mixed with Dream Academy?
💕💕💕
beck = music multi universe
That intro sounds just like Cosmo black by Dynatron.
Check it out, if you like 80's or synthwave you'll dig it.
💙💙
funkyyyy
Beck's other songs are good too... so it's no surprise this is not bad.
Well here is the interpretation that can be given to the song:
We have a young man who has just graduated, goes to any job and starts doing things that he doesn't really like just to earn an income.
After a while he decides to pause And notice that his life has not had anything that he had thought
Make the decision that it won't stay that way but it is hard for him at first and think it's better if you wait for the right time all this to avoid going back to the same
Does not want to be a puppet And it is just that fear that starts to move him But what if what you've been through isn't so bad?
What if you are making an impulsive decision only to realize you were wrong?
So ask your perception to be real
Toto - Africa
Did they play this live with Beck yet?
fucking amazing.
this sounds like Shook
Best song the album except solitude
+TheMurderKitty So do you mean it is the second best?
+ocean “iamoceansroar” babin I will always see solitude as a single, it was released before the album came out.
качественно
Sounds a bit like Robbie Williams!
☺☺☺✌
This song reminds me of Alan Parsons Project "Turn of a Friendly Card"
chaeyo.0 , viene por ti y solo por ti
Remembers me of Camel. But Camel is from a different galaxy.
Guess who is here
TimeWind

It's called reinventing your sound it's the only way you hang around and become one of the greats Radiohead, RHCP, The Killers etc....
+Chris Roberts exactly. very thankful they aren't just releasing the same thing over and over again. good to know not everyone is boring.
Moon child*
you cant make the artist release only the type of music YOU want to hear, thats why they are called musicians, not your fucking slaves, therefore they can release what ever the fuck they want
