"Crime is so inclusive." 🤣
Set the tone for 2024
hahaha, small wins
The mob-adjacent styles/characters also have an undercurrent of anger and feeling justified in your violence. It's not an aesthetic I'm into anyway, but I'm pretty put off by the violence-adjacent vibes of it.
This is fair! I personally don’t watch a lot of media simply because I don’t care to consume violence or stressful content in general (when it’s of a fictional nature, staying informed on violent current events and history is another topic). It’s a personal choice. I’d hope that the people emulating this aesthetic aren’t also attracted to the violence associated with it but are more interested in the glamor of it all
You’re so thorough! This video is really well done 💄
aw thank you so much!! this means a lot 💓
ngl this is the first time I've heard of this and I'm lowkey glad about it 😭 there's too many "cores" and "aesthetics" right now, it's overwhelming
Hahahah I’m not surprised! The internet is a hugeeee place. These trends change every day 😮💨
I hope you blow up because this was sooo well made and u have so many videos, just found u but definitely subscribed
You are so sweet!! I read this as I was stressing about the research left to do for my next video and this really cheered me up 😭 I appreciate it
Love your video essays 🖤💄
Thank you so much!! Hehe :) 💓
I love this aesthetic but I already dress like this 🤣 I love Versace, animal, print and big hair. But honestly, people should just do what they like!
and I LOVE that for you. I don’t know how I feel about the cultural appropriation debate surrounding this, but I can acknowledge that it does relate to a specific culture and I get why people want to emulate that
@@carlascalling I’m not Italian but many of the “mob wife” aesthetics are popular in my culture too & now people are saying my look is mob wife 🥴 …I was going for Tina Turner but thanks 😭
hahahah. you have to keep some tina reference pics on hand to teach people
💄🧥 Great video!
thank you for watching!! 💓

Everyone is following trends, even if it’s only a group of 10 people. Most people that like this style don’t embrace cartels and selling drugs or idealize being an object next to a rich man. Also something you are not taking into consideration that the world is not only America and no one in Italy identifies with this aesthetic as a ‘national identity’ that would be ridiculous. Someone wearing this style now is also is also plainly aware that it’s funny and detached from the original thing (most of the people that have this style now don’t wear real fur, contrary to the original mob wives) you clearly also have this awareness and detachment while wearing a juicy couture tracksuit. Have fun with fashion, not everything needs to be over analized until it finds itself in an early grave.
Thanks for the thoughts! I think we mostly agree. I did try and explain that I was talking about Italian-American culture that is inspired by Italy. Didn’t talk about Italian themselves because I don’t know much about them!
