    I tried this today. I added ginger, used maple syrup instead of honey and air fried instead of deep fried the cauliflower. It was so delicious and quick, made it, ate and cleaned up the kitchen within my lunch hour.

    Very tasty recipe the entire family loved it. For those of you looking to bake vs fry, skip the step to steep in hot water for 15 min they will cook properly in the oven. Preheat the oven to 400 f /205c, follow all steps in order, after dipping the cauliflower in the batter then dip in panko bread crumbs (I used about 2 cups) and place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and then bake for 20 minutes. The additional panko coating creates a nice crispy coating and there is no mess on the cookie sheet. When adding to the sauce you don't want this to sit in the sauce too long it will loose its crispiness. My changes to the recipe, for the batter I used 1/2 chili powder and paprika. For the sauce I added about a tsp of freshly chopped ginger and another tsp of golden mountain sauce which is a Thai variation of soy sauce.

      Won't the water also have all the germs and possibly the worms commonly found in cauliflowers? It would probably be best to discard that water and have clean food, hopefully still with most nutrients in tact.

    This is an incredible recipe let me start with that. This can be done healthier in the oven and making a few changes. For the Cauliflower mix i did it exactly the same except I used 1 tsp chilli powder and 1 tsp paprika (i think this tastes better). Once you but in the oven put in for 425 on parchment paper for 30 minutes. When 15 minutes left on timer remove and then spray with oil (i used olive). That'll crisp it up a bit. Just a little spray goes a long way. Also i did not add salt to this mix, you can omit it.
    Also for the onion garlic saute, you can use 1 tsp of oil and do it on a non stick pan, just add a smidge more water (when sautee) and do it a little earlier so nothing burns. I used 1 tsp ketchup and 1 tsp soy sauce and 2 tsp honey and it turned out great. Also i never added salt to the recipe because there is salt in ketchup and soy sauce.
    also for a spicer version when you saute, saute in spicy chilli oil.

      Bravo Jonny! Haha. I was thinking it would be healthier done in the oven. The only problem I have is "cup" measurements...? I am in UK and use a different system.

    • @TheKlali100
      @TheKlali100 3 роки тому

      @@georgealderson4424 cup refers to volume instead of weight so it's a bit hard to give an equivalent as it varies for every item. there are some great conversion sites on the Web though where you type the condiment and it gives you the equivalent in grams!!! I just gave up and got cup measurement on amazon though :D

    I made this amazing recipe many times, i found that for the batter its better to use half or a bit more than half a cup of water instead of 3/4. and if you want to add bulk to the dish to get more food out of it or just add more vegetables, you can add small sliced carrots cut into circles and then half to be moon shaped, a bit bigger than the spring onions, whenever you make the sauce. When you fry the onions, then add the carrots too. it doesnt take away from the flavor and adds a bit of crunch and sweetness

    I believe one of those last ingredients to the sauce was corn starch not corn flour. This looks good can’t wait to try it.Thank you for the post , I’m subscribing.
