Very handy! Thanks!
You are most welcome!
I love you for tip number one!
Happy to help!
Thanks for these helpful tips
You are most welcome, Zaid.
Thanks for this video very useful. UA-cam allows you to label and link time stamps for transitions or different topics in the description box. I would be more inclined to save this video if I knew I could easily select the location of a topic you went over that I found useful then having to search through it. just a suggestion
Thanx for the very usefull tips :-)
You are very welcome!
That "explore" button - I never know how to use that. It's a shame I didn't know many things about Google Drive when I struggled with my thesis in the past years. But thank you for this tutorial, I'm learning new things today!
So glad you enjoyed this tip. Thanks for watching!
Thank you
Thanks. Can Save to Drive be used with other browsers such as Safari or Microsoft Edge besides the Chrome browser?
Thankfully
Hi Scott, Thanks for the great video. I'm sure going to use the tips, they are really useful.
Regarding the "set expiration" option - I do not see it in my documents sharing advanced options. Is it a G Suite only option?
Thanks for the great question. Yes, upon further review, it does look like the 'set expiration' feature is only availible to G Suite users.
Very good !!!!
Thanks for watching, Ralph.
Hey Scott, thanks for your great videos, just a quick question, what's the difference between google drive and Google docs??
Thanks for watching and the question. Google Drive encompasses a variety of applications including Docs, Sheets, Slides, and more. In other words, you could say that Drive is the productivity suite and Docs is one of the apps within.
Check out my newest video for google drive and google docs reviews!
Great voice and great explanation
Great comment! Thanks,
how can i view win rar files in google drive , i connected zip extractor but when i select file and choose open with option there is no zip extractor.thanks
Bro was very good session.
Thanks a ton
I like the Ctrl = / for finding short cut keys. I know I can save an accumulated amount of time by learning to use more of these. Now I can look them up quickly and not have to write them down to learn them.
That's a great tip. Thanks for sharing!
The ability to clip photographs from the web is interesting. So far, Google don't have a web clipper yet so this will do until their beta app is ready. Thank you, I didn't know GD was able to do this.
You're very welcome, Anne. Thanks for watching!
Fantastic. I'll definitely use the "OCR", "Explore" and "Save to Drive" functions a lot. The only concern is that I will be too dependent on Google Drive and when I get back to China I may not be able to access it easily.
Thanks for sharing your feedback, Tracy.
Thanks Scott for your tips, to open the key menu hit Ctrl+/
Lets take a moment to appreciate UA-cam recommandations. They ditched the most watched section and replaced it with recommendations and trending. Brillant strategy 🙌
Hi Scott. The expiration icon/feature is not showing up in my Sharing dialogue box. Neither in Chrome or Firefox. Is there a setting that I am missing? All I get are the three modes of sharing.
Hi, Randall. What I failed to discover until after posting this video, is that the Expiration feature is only available to G Suite customers (Google for Business).
thank you.
You're welcome, Bibek. Thanks for watching!
This was a fantastic video! Thank you.
I have a question, when I ask my employees to upload pictures to the Drive, why does it use their personal storage?
If you are using G Suite, this shouldn't be an issue. But without G Suite, it will make use of their own Google account's storage.
@@Simpletivity thank you, I need to look up g suite then. Lol
1:06 - convert image to text - that was the winner! Thank you so much for that tip! :)
You are very welcome, Andre. Thanks for watching!
I noticed i do not have "set expiration" timer. Is that something on a G-Suite account or is that a setting I need to set? Or is that an extension? Thank you
It turns out that this is indeed a G-Suite feature.

So glad to have you here! Thanks for subscribing.
Does google doc have any shortcut key for highlighting or text coloring?
About sharing, please: If a folder for example is shared to different people (random is different time), how can we be sure that they won't be able to remove or delete any file inside that folder? Thank you!
It's now Ctrl + Alt + / to get keyboard shortcuts (Acer CB515 23/03/2020)
I was about to sell my iMac after 3 weeks of horror getting this machine becoming my own. Until i found this presentation..... Thank you
Great
Thanks for watching, Dev.
I cant seem to find the timer for sharing, has it been depreciated?
Great video! I uploaded a photo of text into google drive. I then wanted to open in google docs to use the OCR. It only gives me the choice to add more apps- no google docs choice. How do I get google docs to be a choice? Thanks!
Hmmm, I'm not sure why you wouldn't have this option at 1:40 in the video.
I'm just looking for a way to sync a folder on a server daily with a team drive. Idk why this has to be so difficult.
How did you get 30gb of storage on google drive? I can either have 15 or 100
Is it possible to translate picure with tables to translate in doc with tables?
How to convert photos to OCR as a "group" using Google Drive? because only one photo is converted to text at each step (through conversion by Google Doc).
ocr recognition of documents and the automatic transcription when an image with text is moved to google drive is amazing and something i've been looking for. also, saving an entire website was pretty cool to see the entire layout. great tips. thank you for sharing them.
i'm using evernote for getting things done. i've set up a system to tag notes and keep things flowing in a task/project mgmt system within evernote. i wanted only one program to handle many things for me.
i'll add google drive to the list of my productivity tools.
You're very welcome. Thanks for watching!
Expiring for Shared link is for paid Workspace only?
that voice... you are codebulet!!!!
Unfortunately, that Sharing Expiration Date option is not universally available :( Thank you for all your great tips!
That's true. You do need to be a G Suite user in order to make use of this feature. Thanks for watching!
Drive also serves as a great back-up for computer files.
Yes, it certainly does. Thanks for sharing!
I agree! I use it often for computer files!
Ignore last comment I figured it out. You might want to show short cuts for Mac Safari too in future.
its good
I've been using gdrive for about 30 years it always amazes me how incredible it is I've been using it for streaming the OCR is amazing everytime I look at it there's something new
So glad that you're getting so much out of Drive, Jerome. Thanks for sharing!
Is there no weclipper on the market which give us only the article of a website without ads and so on like Evernote or OneNote can do? Why is there no competitive clipper from Google?????
That's a great question, Gerwin. It will be interesting to see if Keep get's an upgrade to its web clipper in these areas.
Have you tried Mercury Reader? It's a Google extension. It may help.
Yes there is. Evernote and it is fantastic
I use Mercury Reader, especially when I need to print (I have trouble reading on a screen, so I do a lot of printing).
Chrome extension Mercury Reader removes ads. See if that helps.
I need a tip: How do I download a file I have previously uploaded to Google Drive??
I can upload for example an image but when I later try downloading it I get e.g. the message: Access to doc-04-70-docs.googleusercontent.com was denied. Why???]
What is the point uploading something to google drive if I later can not download it any more?
I'm not sure why you are receiving this message. You should be able to download any file that you uploaded or have shared download access to.
I should be. I have my cellphone connected to my gmail account. Sometimes uploading things with my cellphone to Google drive. When I later use my desktop computer, log in to my gmail account then I get that weird message when trying to download a file. Tried to ask the Gmail guys but no answer there.
OK, found out what happened.
I have 3 Gmail accounts, open all the time. While uploading works fine because there are different links... ...drive/u/0/my-drive, ...drive/u/1/my-drive, ...drive/u/2/my-drive...etc to distinguish between the accounts downloading is only possible for ...drive/u/0/my-drive. Guess thats one of many google bugs.
Would be nice, too, if people could copy files from one google drive to the other.
Glad that you found the reason for this message. Thanks for sharing!
You really screw my google sheets up. You said to Ctrl + = + / would bring up short cuts. I'm on a Mac with Safari and my google sheet blew up the size of my window and now I can't get it back to my original size. Please help!!!
For anyone who could not find an open in Google docs option, you need to upload image into Google Drive first. Not mentioned in this video and seems obvious once you know, but I had quite a few friends saying they could not see that option.
Thanks for the clarification, Ian.
Yes. I thought of that (uploading image to Drive) too but the image still opened in Google Docs as a picture but with no OCR text. This was disappointing as this is definitely something we could use. Good video though, thanks.
is there a way in sheets to add a... cell? I do not how to call it - anyway - the wish is to have a word or text that you add to one place and you can add it to other places. If you change the FIRST one - ALL will change! Like in a contract preset - I just would add one name and in all places in that contract, it would change.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The image text grab thank you
You're welcome!
in Mac it's Command / to see the list of shortcuts
Thanks for the tip!
the ocr one is my favourute
Glad you liked this one, Dave.
and you have 30 GB storage? and using just 6 of it??
any hack?
Thank you anyway!!!!
How do I see my contact list
You can access your Contacts by selecting the Google Apps icon (9 dots) in the top right corner.
Long screenshot ✔
Thanks for watching, Farhan.
Well done me boss
SAVE TO GOOGLE DRIVE
image ocr to doc google
Right click? I am using iOS
at my work, we deliver a lot of packages and some deliveries don't have online tracking. so you only had a ticket. each time a customer ask you have to look in a box full of papers.
So i took a photo of each tiket and upload to drive, then you can do a text search for all the pictures ! ! no need to make ocr on each.
Awesome! Thanks for sharing, Oscar.
you sound like Lionel Hutz from The Simpsons
As a long-time Simpsons fan (and Phil Hartman fan), I'll take that as a compliment!
On the nosey, Peter! Couldn't place it at first.
Please please please
Please try to make your videos 3 or 4 times faster and shorter
Businessmen lack time more than anything else
10 min is ideal for the UA-cam algorithm esp for showing up under suggested videos
You can set the playback speed to 1.25x if you are in a hurry

You failed to warn your viewers about copyright violations. You imply that if you find an image on the internet, that it's free to steal. That's not the case. As a photographer, I make a point to go after intellectual property theft. Some more flagrant violators have coughed up four-figure checks for using my copyrighted photos without permission or compensation.
Thanks for sharing your feedback, Ken.
VERY irritating trying to find the start of your info - way too much time on sponsors. Cant you just add an image? Or put it at the end please. Subscribed hoping you will do that. 3 out of 5 useful tips. More please! Drive is a mystery to me.
Tone too patroning, cant listen.....
