Another great episode. I agree with you re the David Canary years. I actually stopped watching after Pernell Roberts left, although I was still a huge Michael Landon fan. My much older self has found Bonanza on UA-cam and I’m enjoying watching the first six years all over again and now watching the eight seasons I missed. This time around, Adam is my favourite and I understand even more why the show changed for me after he left.
I'm 45 yrs old. I loved watching re-runs of this show with my late father. This woman is a credit to so much. I just want to say Rip Thomas Timothy Thomas.
I really love your channel ❤️ It leads me back to my childhood days when i could watch so many Bonanza episodes along with my beloved late grandma 🥲 She also was a huge fan of this show! Greetings from Austria 👋🏻😃🇦🇹
I can´t believe how much you know about "Bonanza". Thanks a lot. Bonanza was part of my life when I was a kid here in Chile. Un abarazo.....gracias.....great job!!!
Regarding Victor Sen Young being out of character, check out the beginning of the episode "The Fear Merchants". Hop Sing is speaking with other Chinese men using his normal voice. Makes it look like speaking with the stereotypical voice is for interacting with non Chinese people.
Everybody rails against David, but not his fault..I liked him in the role. And he was wonderful as Adam/Stuart Chandler on All My Children!! Matheson was on the last season of The Virginian (Men of Shiloh). Excellent documentary on Baseball with Bing Russell!!
To my knowledge, there has not been a biography written about Victor Sen Yung. However, there is a wonderful book about the film business during the 1940's. Among other things, the book tells about Chinese actors during World War II.
I remember episode where hop sing didnt speak with a Chinese accent I believe it was the one where his friend tried to buy American 🇺🇸 flags for his son’s birthday cake 🍰 and his friend got bullied by cowboys. Loved 🥰 Mitch Vogel people give him is bad rap 😢
Same opinion here re the David Canary years. Besides Adam looked much better in those clothes than David Canary. Pernell was a better actor too. Not interested in series after Adam left. The show lost its appeal and family interaction chemistry.

Ah yes. You're right Ken. I forgot about that. Thanks.
I liked the Candy years, he had great chemistry with Mike and there were some great action episodes that featured them both.
I liked the Candy years ;)
That red haired kid wad the death of the series.
I loved Hop-Sing ❤

Victor Sen Yung was in two movies with Humphrey Bogart: Across the Pacific and The Left Hand of God. Does anyone know if the two were friends?

Has anyone seen Flower Drum Song? Victor Sen Yung gets his comedy chops on as nightclub emcee Frankie Wing in the film. He even sings!
Hop Sing ❤❤❤
Yum Bing Russell

Yes.

Kathie Browne was married to Darren McGavin.
Mitch Vogel ruined it for me. Btw, I have a pot made by Victor.
