Really need to get this into the hands of UA-camrs. Won't be spending that type of money until I have heard at least a few good reviews from trusted 3D printer UA-camrs.
You seem sour to ratrig for some reason. I have a vcore 4 400 hybrid for almost 2 months now. Have since more or less stopped using my 3 other printers including a trident 350, because this thing just works. Instructions are as good as vorons with tons of pictures and almost screw by screw steps. I can lay down plastic at 25mm^3 all day long. Also the discord is great, idk what your seeing but people have been helpful belt tuning, dropping models left and right for mods, building diy bom source lists ect.
You know those reviews are fake as shit, right? The youtubers are bought with free machines to promote them cheaply. It's called "User generated content marketing"
I have placed some pre-orders each one some weeks apart. Hoping to see some reviews over the time. Each time I got an payrequest, I check if reviews are online. I canceled all pre-orders over the last months, because no reviews were online.
@@MarkusRe72 Yup. I pre-ordered months ago, and they've played games. They "released" the IDEX but dont actually have it ready to ship. These guys are clowns
I'd be happy to just get my printer and IDEX at this point... This Kickstarter like launch crap we as consumers are forced to deal is bull shit. Stop launching products until you have inventory and are ready to ship what people are paying for.
its only progress if it is actually in the hands of the hundreds if not thousands of consumers who paid for it. Too bad that's not the case for the printers either.
Is there any chance that mill cnc electronics will make their way into the stronghold series? It would be great to be able to configure a stronghold pro kit under fluid
While awaiting beta mill I ordered low profile vice from inception machines... the vice is great but inport tax was hurtful :D So you could provide similar vice or even slightly bigger within the EU :) it would be great.
Thank you for simplifying the ordering. I had no idea what I needed to get up and running before in terms of purchasing. I had no idea what was required and what was an upgrade. Also if it is an upgrade, what would be the benefits?
I know you guys are doing alot of projects right now but have you guys ever thought about making a resin 3d printer kit? i know it has a lot of weird aspects to it that don't fit quite as well as a cnc does into your product line but i would love a resin printer where the community and speedrun the development of the tech like the community did for fdm.
maybe as a future idea: you should sell the hardware kit without the frame, rails and lead screws. for example, i already have the moving parts or i want to build a 350 Version. so I will have to purchase only the aluminum profile and the ground plates locally.
Never mind the 8 week lead time lol. They "launched" the IDEX, their website claims in stock... Yet you have to wait 8 weeks because they don't actually have the parts in stock to ship anything. You are essentially financing their inventory orders. It's a joke.
Well let's look at the toolhead. Rapido uhf, orbiter 2, 4028 big boy fan, ebb42. So there's 200ish. Now we got the printed parts for this new head, and parts for the old head cause it needs changed too, ok fair not a huge cost on there end for that but lots of time installing heatsert, cutting wires, bagging tiny bits ect. Plus umbilical cords items, and the new calibration hardware camera and switches. Then theirs the incredible programming that's built for it that makes it about plug program play. It's a tad steep but it's not outrageous priced compared to my diy tridex which isn't as cool.
Hi Diomedes! As we explained, you were a bit unlucky with your specific order configuration (late delivery on a specific component), but your machine should be just a few days away from shipping!
@@miklschmidt I understand your point, but it's important to note that the feature is discussed in relation to the overall experience of the idex system, especially on a vc4, which doesn't come with the necessary hardware to use the highlighted feature as standard. Some views may misinterpret this, and I simply wanted to highlight this from an audience perspective.
@@skyeblackledge2068 I get it. RR machines are modular, customizable and configurable. By default the v-core 4 doesn't come with anything, it's a configurable kit with recommended standard hardware. If you want to use any of the features listed in the video, you gotta put the right items in your cart. That includes the filament sensor if you want spool join mode, Rat Rig sells both the BTT Smart Filament Sensor v2 and the Orbiter v2 filament sensor in the shop. The RatOS 2.1 documentation will list what's required for the different features. Note: you can use *any* filament sensor. Even if it's a dumb switch put into a custom printed part. If they had to list out every piece of hardware you need for every single feature they talk about, these videos would be a lot longer.
Hi Ratrig. I am kindly asking you to reply to my emails. I bought an IDEX upgrade and workbench from you on the 2nd of September, and now more than 2 months have passed and I have received nothing and no one is responding to my emails. I received my V-core 4, but I can't assemble it because I need the workbench. If I assemble it without the workbench, I can't lift it afterwards. I am understanding that you have a lot of preorders, but come on 2 months and no one is answering emails. I am starting to think that customer support is of low quality; that would be a shame to have good quality products and low quality customer support.
I was one click away from buying a VC4-500, but there's just so little information to find about it online. The Discord is filled with sour grapes that won't answer questions that are "beneath" them and there is barely any informative youtube videos about the printer. Why is this? When i first saw the printer i thought this was high end and good shit that would get plenty coverage. Support is also omegaslow (6days) to reply to e-mails. So i ended up with a Voron, which i guess is what most people do when they try to research a ratrig.
I also found it very strange. So many people seem to be interested in this printer, but beside 2 short reviews (247 printing and Jan Tec, which did only one video 2 month ago) I couldn't find any videos. They are advertising ratos 2.1, but the documentation isn't available yet. It's also odd, that cameras aren't included and no physical user interface is on the printer. I think Ratrig will send more printers to reviewers, when it's fully developed and MMU available. I actually think they don't want too much attention, because they wouldn't be able to produce that many printers, which would lead to frustrated customers. I won't buy a printer unless I know it's a good printer. At that price point I won't gamble.
Agree. I was looking at this, but have decided I'll wait and see if there are some UA-camrs out and more of a Reddit community that maybe talk about and have experience with the VC4. I have a lot of questions, but no one seems to be able to answer. They really need a Q&A section, more outreach to UA-camrs, and A LOT more support. I'm willing to buy, but the support needs to be at the level of Voron and Prusa.
The answer is pretty simple, actually! Many, many people want a V-Core 4 right now, but our production capacity is limited. We think that right now it's more important to allocate machines to our paying customers than to marketing efforts / influencer collabs. It's as simple as that. The influencers will continue waiting until we have some excess capacity. They are patiently waiting on the queue like everyone else. :)
They are only so big guys. I bet their warehouse is already capped out. Even adding one extra item adds a full rack worth of inventory. Also, I found the opposite experience with voron vs ratrig. Browsing voron, new people get ignored constantly. The RatRig discord on the other hand gets people answers 95%+ of the time. I haven't seen any of these "sour grapes" in my 5 months I've been on there.
Can I get one for free? I will give you the best of the best promos for you in a couple videos, I’m an actor and stuntperformer who is trying to jump on the boat of making props but I need a really good printer but as an actor I o my have money for rice hahaha
