I am not being kind and you are not just a home cook, If you went to cooking school you would be the top of the class. I have tons of cookbooks and none of them have your mind or vison to do food except one and she was a lady from the south who did not go to cooking school but used food in season and had your vision for food and cooking. I have her cookbook somewhere , you have got to be related to her,

Hey Kathleen! Always good to see you! Yes, it does! I know it’s coming to see larger sized jars (1/2 pints) but if you’re looking for a USDA approved recipe they don’t recommend it. While I’ll also make fermented mustard every now and again, I get my ferments in other ways so I usually don’t bother to use while seeds. Love that you agree powder is the way to go! Thanks for stopping by!

Great job as always Cassandra! Have you ever grown your own mustard! Then you would have your own supply and also mustard greens to eat, which are full of antioxidants. I always have a large jar of powder. I used to mix it up for a mustard plaster when my kids were small. Have a beautiful day!

Hi Angela! Oh no! I’m so sorry to hear this! A few others shared good results on Instagram. This recipe is essentially the exact recipe from “Small Batch Canning and Preserving” Were you able to review the step by step directions on my blog? I truly feel down about your results because I don’t want you to become discouraged about canning, preserving and making things from scratch.

Angela! I thought about you and your feedback all day today. I appreciate you for sharing and I want to make sure consistent results are achieved every time. If you’d like please email me at cassandra@becomingafarmgirl.com to share more. My truest intent is to share delicious recipes related to canning and if my instructions aren’t clear, etc I take ownership about that. I truly hope you enjoy the onion jam! As a fellow canner I APPRECIATE having other canning friends because it’s something do solo without having physical canning friends. You were so kind and gracious in your feedback, but I want to make this (and all) of the recipes I share 100% user friendly. I work outside of my home during the week so please forgive my hours later response.
