In this essay I will discuss the basic elements behind Crest's poetic and thorough understanding of what it truly means to be a boss in Dark Souls... The Bed of Chaos is a representation of tragedy. The tragedy of Lost Izalith, legacy of the Witch of Izalith. Within the representation of this tragedy are other representations. The player is able to experience these tragedies first-hand and come to understand the mental anguish the Witch, her daughters and the inhabitants of Lost Izalith suffered from. Yes, indeed. This addition of suffering from the genius of Crest is what brings a newfound resolution to this boss fight. And the moral is that "You shouldn't be a dirty witch" (Gwyn, Fextralife Wiki).
I dunno what the devs were thinking leaving that tunnel run up to the boss core so empty in the first place, seeing it so vibrant with different critters really brings it to life now!
I died laughing when you landed and there were two capra demons on both sides of the screen. This boss fight was far more interesting than the original
@@chosebine2169 the bonewheel skeleton actually represents the feet and the tragedy of not appreciating them enough to invent a wheel for transportation, which is the sin that the witch of Izalith committed that caused her to turn into a demon
You know I went into this video thinking you might've found a way to incorporate the deleted bed of chaos animation into the fight, where it crawls around, is a lot more active and would've functioned as a legitimate boss fight instead of a puzzle. Instead I got bed of chaos if the dark souls 2 developers designed it lmao. Also you forgot to add the blighttown toxic snipers, to represent that the enemy is always out of reach: Lordran is dying slowly but steadily, the future is fully set on a hollowed path because of gwyn and his fear of the Dark. When you start the game, the enemy is already far out of sight, long gone past any point of sanity with their deeds already done. Spending the game charging towards gwyn while gathering up souls innately is a toxic journey, as your goal becomes more and more diluted, and by the time you reach him, the only choice you canonically have is to link the fire, and continue the toxic cycle. 800 blighttown snipers would perfectly convey this message :)
@@user-rj2jx8sh9q Hah, skill issue, do what I did Run DS1 on such a shitty pc that blighttown becomes ludicrously easy due to your frame rate already being bad, only issue is iron golem becomes the hardest fight in the game
this is still a problem that the Bed pf Chaos itself has only 1 hp. It would be so much cooler if it'd have normal boss hp like 30000 so you could really enjoy fighting it!!
Honestly though, seeing a clusterfuck of weak enemies as you slide down would actually be a cool gimmick and alternative to the original boss. Like if a bunch of unique egg carriers and demons writhing around, it would be a good nod to the bed of chaos being a matronly figure to demonkind.
They could have had lines of egg carriers that served as a meatwall, if you focused too hard on them the bed of chaos would land easy hits on you. Maybe they could two taurus demons that will attack after you break the first line of defense (only them though) them when you get past them a wave of Capra demons rushes you BUT the bed of chaos is Flipping out now, trying to keep you back, so she ends up killing them with collateral while you just try to survive. Then plop that pyromancer before the fight under the cave. Blammo.
I absolutely love the pinpoint attention to detail and accuracy to the lore of lost Izalitth when he threw a bunch of enemies in the path to the last bug because it was empty. The designers must have thought the same thing about lost izalitth when the added 20+ skeleton dragon asses to fight. (In a lake of magma)
Im actually brought to tears to see my favorite bosses given such a loving and thoughtful touch up. I will be downloading as a permanate edition to my runs.

The reasoning for the enemies being is exactly the type of irony the lore community often times lacks with some of the batshit theories I've heard.
Because the lore is so great and doesn't need to be turned into memes.
