I'm a local to this area and have spent time building and riding these trails. This dirt jump spot is called I-Street. So nice to see you appreciate our stuff, even though it's scrappy and worn down.
Yeah, it’s a sick spot. Where I started riding our local jumps would always get plowed and it was a constant battle. I’m still shocked that towns are embracing this stuff these days, it’s great.
So cool that you can show up thousands of miles away from your home base, and within a few minutes people are asking if you're Phil. Looking forward to this week's content!
Dude! Stoked you made it to I street! That place has shaped my biking over the last 3 years. Really awesome to see you riding it blind. Bummed the wind didn’t let up enough to safely hit the big step up on the backside. It’s a really fun jump and you’ve got air time for just about anything on it. Not sure if you’re familiar with Kurtis Downs, but he put in a ton of work building that and has done some really wild stunts on it. Finley Kirschenmann also did a cork 720 on it which was awesome to see in his Commencal edit.
hey Phil you probably won't reply but I just want you to know that your content got me through a really hard time, i was severely depressed and watching your videos has helped me so much and they bring me so much joy you may have saved my life thanks for the content never stop i love you Phil
Hey Hayden, I’m glad to hear you are in doing better. I have no idea what you’re going through or went through but just know that I too have struggled with depression. It’s not fun. I’m sure it hasn’t been easy for you. I’m also I’m happy to hear i could help in some shape, but ultimately it was your mental strength that pulled yourself back up. Don’t discount the small victories. Hope you are doing well!
@@SkillsWithPhil i want you to also know that you have gotten me into mtb and i love it so much. you have really helped me, you should be so proud of what you have achieved. Luv you phil
The ease at which you hit blind trails and jumps is on point, but what’s even cooler is how easy you relate to people. Offering the young man safe advice is what makes you the top in this game. Great stuff. Can’t wait to see MOAB✌️
I don't know if you'll overlap, but Remy Metallier is down in Moab, it would be sooo fun to see you ride together. I get some similar vibes from you both
@@SkillsWithPhil yeah, that's relatable enough for sure. Still looking forward to your Moab stuff, and I'm sure we'll get to see you two together at some point! Happy riding
Great advice regarding the dirt jumps, back in my noob days I went OTB over a dirt jump on my hardtail trail bike. Riding way above my pay grade at the time, broke 4 bones in my face and worst concussion of my life which I believe still affects me today.
I laughed at the comment about wanting to hit all the other features before attempting the step up. I've ridden I-Street several dozen times and I'm not even sure I've laid eyes on every jump. Just when you think you've seen it all you discover a new line somewhere hidden in the scrub oak. it is really a unique place to ride.
You killed it on those jumps! My wife and I rode it for the first time today, and I’ll definitely be coming back with my full face to do more than Mainline!
I’m so appreciative of the way you interacted with those kids. You’re such a genuine good person. They say never meet your hero’s, but that’s not true in this case. You totally made those kids day!
thanks for sharing man, so cool to live vicariously through your lens and be able to land all these suckers lol What a magical spot tho, someone needs to buy this land and officialize it before it gets sold for condo's and bulldozed.
Those. Jumps look super fun Lots packed into a small space too 🤘🤘. Also so sick that you show up and ride with some random kids they're were shredding too. And definitely something to take away with that message for the one guy regarding dirt jumping.
Phil, I recently started to want to get into mountain biking but I have a Nisiki pueblo that’s kind of bulky but anyways I made some jumps and a track in my backyard and in my woods and I like it and I was wondering what a good bike would be that isn’t over 500$ and is a hard tail and something. I only am asking you because I know you’re good with bikes
I used to live just a few streets over from here, so this is cool to see. I Street originally wasn't built with permission and it's a great example of the value making jumps official brings to the community instead of destroying them.
Dude. You are my favorite channel to see pop on my feed. I love that folks always know who you are. I hope to see you on a trail one day. Like forget some hollywooder… I wanna ride with Phil

Such a cool spot! Also I love how responsible of you it was to talk less experienced riders out of dirt jumping.

Unfortunately not. I had no idea he was down here or that outerbike was happening last weekend. I’m terrible at planning and coordinating this stuff.

Damn, same thing happened to me it was a weirdly built 6 foot dirt jump hip that I went straight on and got knocked out for 30 sec, scary days lol
As an old fart rider, I really appreciate your ability to just go ride and vibe with the “youngsters”. That was great to watch.
Great advice man about the dirt jumps with that young man. Sick as always man! Can't wait for the next adventure!
Awesome stuff dude! You show up anywhere and people will always, “hey Phil!”.

Awesome how you chill with the locals immediately!
00:01 "Is the bike in one piece?" LOL. I hope not or it must be really bent to fit in that bike bag!
Great video Phil, you land so softly and in so much control.
Oh damn Phil!!! You went to I Street? Awesome!!! Did they happen to take you to "Bobsled?" (Broke my leg on that one!!)
Imagine having something like this in New England 😭😭😭
You killed it on those jumps! My wife and I rode it for the first time today, and I’ll definitely be coming back with my full face to do more than Mainline!
IST JUMPS
That's where I learned to jump

I Streets an absolute Staple in Utah. Love that place, had my fair share of injuries there.
I like how you make riding buds w strangers in 5 seconds. Better than riding alone.
Agreed .. 5 10 sucks after Adidas bought them ...
no way that kid with the full factory pivot is riding in keens, whaaaat
The kid rips so he can do whatever he wants! 🤘
Yo if you got time during your trip you should check out the Eagle mountain bike park
Excellent session, dude! Looks like you all had a wonderful time.
I grew up watching your videos and got an appartment on I street 5 months ago
I wish I could ride there it likes there is a lot of cool stuff
That’s a sweet local! I can only dream of this 😅
if you are still in utah you should go to the ogden bike park
5:26 that looks like a dangerous junction
You should come to Mt Penn, in Reading Pennsylvania. It’s nothing like this, but you should still check it out sometime
First again
Nice content Phil 🤩🤘🔥

you should do a gncc ebike race
Hey Phil, do you have a bike and helmet or just a bike for $450 or less bc that is my current budget. I am 5’ 7” by the way.
If you have make you way down to San Diego I would love to show you around some narly jumps

Utah definitely is recreation friendly. The do MTB and LOTs of other outdoor recreation right, allow the industry the freedom to grow themselves.
Translation:"Really hard to get yourself prepared when you don't have a home base"
"I had to poop"

Wish I could ride with you for 1/2 day and have you teach me how to jump properly...lol.
Wow! not sure how come I missed this post, 9 months ago. It is so inspiring to watch your videos Phil. Thanks
This is sooo awesome seeing you on my home turf! I love I street it’s like a playground a little kid would design in a sandbox.
We've been having that problem in our local shops. The valve won't gold air.

Phil. You ever plan on coming to Texas?
Ain't nobody wanna come to Texas for mtb lol
@@klevz3207 we actually got a lot of stuff and some really good spots here.
All this looks so scetchy.
I was there about a week ago, everything definitely looks considerably bigger in person.
You should come out to BC and ride ledgeview. Some of the best jumps and berms around here and a rats nest of trails but fun
Should definitely check out bobsled, one of the all time great trails here in SLC
Looked so fun! Question, why has your suspension swishing sounds been getting progressively louder in the recent videos?
Oh man Phil! Looking forward to some awesome Utah content !! Peace!
Not firing on all cylinders but still slaying it🤣.
Phil will you do stickers again?
Don’t know why, but love the sound from your front fork, mine does not say like that 😀
Biking when you are that tired is so hard. Then you sit down after you have eaten and showered and pass the fuck out.
Awesome Video!!!!
"So many options." sounds like one of them good problems.
Haw do I find properties that will let me build
Yes finally you made it to my local jump spot
Another dirt jump spot you can hit is “9 line”
Yea, it identifies as a step up when there’s stairs made to get up to the landing lol

Awesome cool trail 💪🤘👍❤❤❤
Love your dirt jumping videos!
Phil have u heard of santa cruz California
How is your bike so silent? It's beautiful
Stoked you made it to my neck of the woods!
