- Buzz unveils his Radio Shack, LCD Frequency Counter that he bough new, in 2001. It's a good tool to have in your HAM Shack, and still looks and works great after all these years.
Also a special salute to his son, who is serving in the U.S. Navy. A special thanks to all who have served!
Prayers for Mark. God bless him for his service!
Way to go Mark! You’ve got lots of support for your service. My son is on temporary active duty with the National Guard. I’m proud of him too. MikeinMinnesota N0WDM
Thank you Mike. Unfortunately, his R&R was cancelled, and they remain on patrol.
My Dad gave me his radio equipment a year before he died 3 years ago. One of the items was this frequency counter. I used it today for the first time. It didn't have the antenna in the box, but in June I grabbed a couple of BNC antennas off of my Dad's desk. Today I used one of these antennas, and from your video I can see that the antenna that I used is the one that originally came with this frequency counter. I'd rather have my Dad back though than to have his things. Jesus come soon.
Thank you for the video and Hooyah Pacific Fleet!
Nice. I have an MFJ variant, which is very similar.
i bought one many years ago
when I worked for Tandy corp in ft worth. got it on sale and my discount. still have it in excellent condition. the box was different. I have the frequency counter and antenna and owner book
I also worked for the Shack, and bought it for a song. Also have all the original packaging.
i worked for Tandy corp at the Tandy center subway dept for 10 years and 6 months
Jan 1991- aug 2002
As a teenager I worked at RS and bought one of these brand new with my employee discount.
Same for me.
so how far would i pull the antenna out for 27 Mhz?
The antenna isn't long enough to get a true match, but since it's simply measuring the frequency of the output signal, and you're so close, the antenna length really doesn't matter.
