Hello, I am from Russia, a teenager of 16 for years, I grew up without a father and to be honest, my childhood was not easy now everything is fine and your content that I accidentally stumbled upon from time to time I watch, thank you for such help and support ❤❤❤
Thank you for being here for us and giving us your love and guidance. I want you to know just how much you mean to us, even if we all don't know each other personally. You taught me a lot and I hope you're doing well, we're here for you, too
He cleaned the mess!!! First. See? This is one of the reasons youre so great...you are thorough... if ypu encounter it while doing something, ypu tell us avout it. Might seem trivial, but im not confident, if i dont have all rhe information...ty rob ❤
Those oscillating saws are a life-saver in so many ways. They're versatile but they also solve very specific problems other saws can't. They don't do an amazing job when outside their usual use but they will get you by in a pinch with the right blades and going slow.
Truly fantastic video. Full of dad knowledge like checking for nails and measuring thrice. Bobus tidbit: If an old door sags away from the hinges, you can take out a hinge screw (connected to the door frame) and replace it with a longer one to pull the door back into the wall. Going through the hinge helps hide the screw. I like to use a grey screw on a brass hinge just to remind me it's there in case I need to take the door down in the future.
I need a “how do you replace broken chains on ceiling fans and remove the bulb plate when it’s attached to those chains” video. You’re such a great man!
This is so helpful, thank you. I’m renovating a property built in 1900. Some of the things I inherited include replaced interior doors done poorly. With crappy cheap reframing and doors. I’m also going to replace the front door. In case you have a chance to help someone change theirs consider including exterior prehung door, too. Thanks for all you do to bring content that models things a dad would. It means a lot ❤😊
Thank you so much for this channel .. i grew up with a dad he was there but he never taught me anything, and everything i need to do i need to figure it out myself so I'm very grateful for you thank you ❤
I'm about to hang a door in the next month so that was nice to see. Though I swear this video was a repost without the sponsorship in it. My door hang is more complicated as I'm having to do the rough in on it to but this was helpful. I do wish you specified the mail gauge too.
It is a repost without the sponsorship because the sponsor has suspended their business, and I didn’t want people getting frustrated trying to use their support. 👍🏻
By any chance do you know how to fix different types of scratches on a car. Such as front bumper(plastic part), and side panels? Just a question thank you for your time and videos
When you were putting the shims in, if you don't have a cutter, can you put them in sideways and tap them in with a hammer instead to save having to cut the wood?
Please can you do the one I always struggle with please no matter how often I try! ...applying a bead of silicon sealant to a bath against tiles, and shape it after application without making an absolute mess of the whole area!
I love these videos and am grateful for them! I'm trying to learn how to fix things, so I'm also collecting tools. I use pliers a lot - both ordinary ones and a needle-nosed pair. I often need extra leverage to turn things and I learned that you can also get pliers that open wider than the usual ones. They're much easier to use than the small wrench I used to try to wield before I discovered them! If you don't already have one, you'll want a steel rule like the one "Dad" uses, of course. (I have one with both inches and centimeters and often find the cm. easier to measure with.). Another essential tool is what I grew up calling a Stanley knife: to my irritation I can't think what it's called here in the States! But it's a cutting tool that cuts with a razor blade, which you retract when not in use. (And a tip which I learned not long ago: if you ever need to cut vinyl flooring, you can get a different type of razor blade for the knife. The end of the blade is shaped like a sort of hook and it makes cutting the vinyl a LOT easier!) I'm sure others will have more ideas, but those are the things already in my very basic collection. 🙂 Congratulations on becoming a homeowner: no easy feat with today's house prices! I know that learning how to fix things oneself, with the help of videos like the ones "Dad, how do I...?" so kindly makes, can save everyone a lot of money.
Couple of questions: Do you always start flush with the hinge side? If your prehung door already has the trim on it, do you remove during install? And, if I have a 18ga brad nailer, will that work or should I stick to drill and screws?
Can you please do a video on how to replace 3 handle bathtub fixtures and spout? Single mom here whose son is 16 and dad is gone. We are trying but we have NO IDEA how to do this! It’s leaking all day! Help!
I don't mean to be a drag but please use cm and metres/ The Metric system, I and many other are from the other side of the world use this system, it would be awesome thxxxxx
Your phone will do the conversion for you if you just plug it in. He's teaching the principle. Your doors will likely be a different size anyway. Don't worry. You've got this.
Im a young black male who’s parents are sadly gone. I’ve been eating candy for the last three days. Can you make video about how to escape poverty. Thanks✌🏾
I’m sorry you lost your parents 🙏🏻 Obviously, I know very little about your situation. If you’re in high school, is there a counselor at your school that you can talk to about this? They have tons of resources at their disposal to help guide you.
U make me miss my dad. He fixed anything.
My dad is still here, ninety this summer, but he was my handyman for years. I’m sorry your Dad isn’t here anymore.
Good luck to you @@tracypolselli1464
me also, he've taught me a lot when i was a kid

Joined the channel just to say thank you. It’s so important and really necessary to have such a “dad”

I laughed out loud at the joke.😂

There are three things you can watch forever: fire burning, water falling, dad installing a new door... apparently...
huh... Who knew...
Ok mate, that's the type of joke my pop would make lol 😂

Hi, I was wondering... what all tools should I have in my toolbox? First time homeowner & all I know is hammer, drill, bits, flathead, & phillips

Fatherly Nice 🚪
What if I have an interior door that I have to lift up on in order for the door to latch? Do I need to put a shim or something under the bottom hinge?
I love you man
Hi Dad ❤:)

Hello dad
What is the name of the tool you used to trim the excess drywall above?
It's an oscillating saw. They're pretty handy and can do a lot of jobs if you go slow and it's all you have with the right blades.
Lmao 🤣 🤣 thanks dad
Ти для меня очень важен спасибо тебе за то что помогаешь нам😄
whats the name of that tool you used to remove that little bit of sheet rock?
An Oscillating Multi Tool
I use it all the time 👍🏻
