      I hope he does manage either The US or Canada. He could do wonders for both as his major weaknesses aren't as much of an issue at International level. I mean Southgate is equally as tactically rigid and one dimensional and he made multiple finals. Difference is that Marsch's style gegenpressing front foot ball and so is actually fun to watch.

    Clint made the point I've been making for YEARS when it comes to USA v Mexico...when you're ALWAYS playing home games you aren't being tested like other teams. Even if there are 50k Mexican fans in the stands they are predominantly Americans...and the environment is still familiar, in the stadium, hotel Etc. They're not dealing with the same situations as they would if they were in other countries

    Marsh is still learning. I think Leeds is a really difficult team to coach. You have to be a strong coach to handle the pressure of the club and the fan base. I think a team like Bournemouth, Sheffield, Fullham, Wigan are clubs he should look for who can implement his style but let him grow…

    I hope Maurice Edu makes a leap to try and coach. I think he has a good sense of how to become a solid manager(of people)and coach(tactics, strategy). He is Someone who has played in America, In Europe, and the USMNT national team(especially with WC experience). And was always respected by his peers and coaches. His commentary has been solid too. I think he'd be a good fit for the USMNT. He seems to have great man management skills and could help bring all the players together and get them playing as a proper team. Its just he is tactically inflexible but that's less of an issue at International level. I do hope he's able to get another high profile job as I think he is a great coach so long as he can work on his lack of tactical depth.

    It's funny to me how English people sneer at what Jesse Marsch says about belief and togetherness. Maybe instead of condescending about it, be self-aware enough to think about why that dismissive attitude may contribute to why they haven't won a tournament since any of us were born and are famous for choking in penalties. Obviously with the talent that the US has even when they punch above their weight they aren't winning the World Cup, but when has England ever punched above their weight? If they had, they would have actually won something by now.

    i hope he learnt from the Leeds experience, first season - he survived with his style of play by fine margins. second season - he got his players in (Brendon Aaronson, Weston McKennie, Tyler Adams, Max Wober, Rasmus Kristensen) and most could not cope in the Premiership.
    his tactics got found out. Watching Leeds that season, it was good positive football - but every team found that weakness of positioning too high up the pitch and pressing way too high and had beat leeds on the counter. It felt like he had no plan B or C - to change games and should of been sacked earlier to refresh the team.
    He talks a good game, but do I think he is ready for a top level team, NO. He has had short stays in European teams for a reason. He needs a few years at a mid level team and have a few consistent seasons before getting USMT job. He has good ideas, but once his tactics weakness get found out - he cannot change the game (yet).

    The way they improve is they merge CONCACAF and CONMEBOL. There shouldn't be two separate leagues. There aren't that many teams. It would be beneficial for both. The US is never going to improve if they are competing against Trinidad or Belize to qualify for the WC. With the current structure, they are basically granted a bid. European teams have to fight tooth and nail against the other best countries in the world. Italy didn't even make the WC in 2022 because of that! Imagine one of the historical soccer powers and their competition is so tough they don't make it. They need to play Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay to push their level. Yes, they play friendlies against European teams but they need to have skin in the game against higher level countries to qualify for WC etc. It benefits those South American countries as well to add more depth and quality within their conference.

    • @G10-n7f
      @G10-n7f 8 місяців тому

      @CG68810, The U.S. has already tried to make the switch to CONMEBOL but unfortunately the CONMEBOL federation has denied their petition on two occasions due to the CONMEBOL team’s refusing their participation (because for the U.S. to compete in CONMEBOL there has to be a voting process with all the participating countries and there federations and if the majority votes are against their integration there’s nothing the U.S. can do) but for a brief time there were rumors about them trying to get themselves in to the AFC aka Asian Football Confederation in an effort to improve by facing better competition.
      The only downside to all of this is that if the U.S. is able to compete in a region that is not CONCACAF it most likely will take years for that process to be completed and during that process the U.S. cannot play any matches until it’s done and since the federation only cares about money and not being successful in soccer I doubt the U.S. will ever become great in this sport.

      It is very, very tough to win in the EPL, without enough talent. Specifically, with a poor defensive back 4. Leeds just didn't have EPL quality at the back, and when Tyler got hurt, "the wheels just fell off" the bus - so to speak.

    Should have taught them defense first. Unfortunately he was doomed at the start because hes american and leeds didnt have the players for his style, but overall hes a solid manager.

    I'm an American Leeds fan who was a fan before Marsch and all the American players. He did not do a good job at Leeds or RB Leipzig. He was good at RB Salzburg who are almost always the best team in their league. He is probably the most successful and qualified current American manager and I would have no issue with him being the next USMNT coach. However he is not a proven manager at the top level and his next job is pivotal because its been two failures in a row for him at the highest level.

    OMG Jessie. Good talker, nice guy BAD MANAGER! I mean who thinks it’s good idea putting Raphinha at right back and play so narrow with a host of wide players 🤯 Stick to the talking and leave the coaching to others. Bielsa made me love football Marsh made me hate it! ALAW MOT

    Marsch needs to get over himself a little bit. Holding out on job opportunities because he thinks he deserves a top league head coaching job "I want, I want, I want" when he didn't have success in the premier league, unless relegation is a good thing.... Talking about the "American X-factor" work hard and build your resume back up until you have something to show you deserve another shot at it, instead of turning down opportunities because you THINK you are better and deserve more.

    Ugh ... when people in football try to be personalities it's so cringe. Of course ... exceptions can be made, ie George Best. But he was a one off.
