Milford Sound in rain is amazing as well thousands of temporary waterfalls running down the massive cliffs everywhere it really looks like the mountains are crying
When driving in nz stick to the left. The speed limit is just the limit! Not a target!. Drive to the conditions. Alwaysssss. Too many tourist have died or killed on our roads. Nz roads are so windey everywhere. #drivesafe
Great that you included Abel Tasman in your itinerary as unfortunately many tourists miss out on this unique part of NZ and which is actually a protected national park. If travelling to Abel Tasman absolutely recommend the kayak tours with the baby seals 😁
Great Job. I liked that you named specific walks and small towns that you enjoyed. I also appreciate the flexibility of this trip which can easily be modified to include more or less days on the road.
On the West Coast the best bit is the mountain valleys and caves, and pancake rocks. Id recommend a cave tour and tube down the river ( or if you havent in queenstown, get a jetboat ride)
Excellent video/summary and amazing recommendations! We will start planning the exact same trip now! Thank you and I look forward to seeing more content from you!
I'm planning a trip to NewZealand in November but I didn't know where to start but after watching this video I have a clear picture. you made such a beautiful video ever with the best guide explained good work make more videos how I get a tour Newzealand road trip guide??
Because of Covid you will almost certainly not get a visa as our borders are closed to almost everyone. Returning Kiwi citizens have to spend 2 week in an isolation hotel - now at their own considerable expense - and I don't think you will be allowed in yet.
Thank you for the VERY helpful video!! I am planning a 14 day trip to the South Island and I will certainly be considering your tips! All the time editing paid off.😊
stracks- adventure thank you! I will check it out. I also have a north island video on my Channel, check it out. We only got to go to Wanaka & Queenstown on our previous trip and want to go back to go explore the South Island properly.
just came across your channel..!! great content with superb illustrations and crisp editing !! enjoyed it ...loads of warm wishes from another travel vlogger
As a kiwi born and bred in the North Island my man is right. If you're strict on time spend it in the south. they don't call it king country for nothing.
Hello from South Africa 🇿🇦 I love your country, I often gaze at its Fjords and beauty through Google Earth. I hope to retire my parents there one day. ❤
Man alive! Don't miss out on the north island! The two islands are completely different but the north island has many great places to visit and please don't by pass the eastern bay of plenty! Ohope beach, whakatane, east coast, Gisborne and then Hawke's bay!! Love love it 👍
I'm from New Zealand but I haven't really been to south island much, so this is really cool video will definitely do these things. (I've only visited Nelson and Hamner Springs)
You are correct...South Island should be your first option....If you want to do north Island and are limited on time..Far north from bay of island northwards should be your second option
I wouldn't recommend the watersports in Wanaka. It's a very cold lake and If you're just spending a day I'd recommend a nice walk around the waterfront and check out the town centre. Its nice and cute and a bit more Kiwi than the absolute tourist town that is Queenstown and Arrowtown (when the shuttles of overseas tourists come in)
There were probably too many Lakes on this list. Wanaka, Tekapo, Milford Sounds, Queenstown are all very nice lake areas but you don't need to go out of your way to hidden lakes as there are already heaps on this list.
Sand flies are such a pain! Prepare natural remedies like sprinkling a little vinegar, or essential oils like eucalytus, lavender, or tea tree oil your clothes. Don't get it on your eyes! You can of course buy different kind of sand flies deterrent from the chemist/pharmacy To relieve the itchiness apply calamine or menthol lotion. Placing cold, damp cloth or ice pack on the affected area for 5-10 minutes or until itchiness stops.
I see you are using a lot of drone footage in your video, and it's gorgeous. I wanted get get a drone for an upcoming trip to NZ but I was scared off by all the mentions of the very strict drone regulations they've got and from others I got the impression you are hardly allowed to fly it anywhere and requires loads of paperwork. How have you experenced this? Is it less complicated than it appears to be and worth it for just personal pictures/videos ?
Hey, yes they are pretty strict in New Zealand. In national parks you can’t fly but there still is quite a few places that are not a problem flying recreationally.
Pretty good list, but I just want to slap you for missing the Franz Josef glacier walk, that is just amazing. You have to accept that you WILL get rained on if you are on the West coast.

New Zealand 🇳🇿 is nice and your video have nice shouts but the nature is not %100 worth if I can’t enjoy swimming in those cold waters . But the Philippines 🇵🇭 is amazing and the waterfalls / ocean / rivers are beautiful and the water is warm so you really enjoy swimming / snorkeling / diving etc.

All of Queenstown is a no fly zone unlike in this video. The national parks (lots) are DOC permission only.
Sorry, but I'm turned off by the title. In 14 days you can 't even see the must sees, let alone all the other great places, so it's impossible to combine "Ultimate" with "14 days". Realistically the ultimate trip would take a year.
