had this video running a couple times before my attempt. did it first try! thank you so much for the calm commentary over the encounter. the wiki made me very anxious but this video did wonders!
Dang. I've been putting off DS2 because I didn't want to have to learn 2 new boss mechanics but you've presented it in such an easy and straightforward way that I think I'll do this today
4 attacks for Vorkath, and Galvek only really has the waves as something new to worry about. Once I boiled it down, made it much easier to pass reacting to a few thing than thinking about everything. You got this!
Vorkath is super easy. Galvek is all mechanic based. Once you figure him out it'll be easy but I'm struggling with galvek currently myself. I was nervous to try vorkath but it was simple. Galvek isn't really any harder it's just easier to choke because he's got 1200hp and way more movement mechanics involved.
@@thisislargemouth5566 the times I choked on Galvek I was standing too close to the ends of the ship and ran into the wave. Otherwise I was surprised at how simple it was
@@SolisTheSun I keep getting fucked up. Lol. 3 attempts so far. I've played this game in it's many forms for 20 years and I'm still terrible. 🤷♂️🤷♂️. I made it to the end of the third phase and misclicked and got taken out. He had less than 400 HP. I almost made it to the final phase. I'm confident with 2 or 3 more attempts I'll get him. Then I can camp vorkath to pay for the rigour prayer I bought specifically for this lol.
@@SolisTheSun been trying the last few days and now I can't even get the fucker under 600hp. I'm getting really unlucky with bolt procs and I only have 77 range so I'm constantly hitting zeros.
2 tries so far and the first time I almost had him. Second try he casted like 10 waves back to back to back, along with the bombs in between. Was so bad rng. But your guide has helped me a lot in knowing how to even get to that phase and what to do during it. So thank you for making this video.
Sounds similar to me. I was surprised he was easier than Vorkath with his "special" attacks that are completely negligible aside from the waves. Happy to help!
Thank you so much. Got it second attempt on my ironman thanks to this guide. Ended up teleporting out on the first try because i only procced my ruby bolt 1 or 2 times by 3rd phase and ran out of supplies (only brought sharks, no brews cause my herblore isnt high enough yet). Second attempt I procced the rubies about 8 times lol. Had a bad streak near the end and ran out of food with literally 1 hit of health remaining on him so I decided to chance it and I killed him with 15hp remaining 😆 I can't even tell you how much of a confidence boost this video gave me. All I can say to anybody else who is struggling and reads this comment is that RNG is a huge factor with the bolts. If you get unlucky just tp out and try again. It can be a bit painful but your luck will turn around and eventually you'll get a faster kill. I believe in you
Just remember Center, Restores, Waves, Move for the phases and avoid the fireballs. He's simpler than Vorkath, just longer. I found not watching his health helped reduce some more stress too, since his phase change is so obvious. You got this!
Thank you for the simple guide and the low tier gear really shows its all about technique. Ran straight into a bomb about 10 seconds into my first attempt but aced it second try!
Thank you! And that was the plan. Moving forward, as little as I can take into content so it'll come off as approachable whatever stat levels are. Most of OSRS is mechanic knowledge and practice over gear.
Thanks for the guide! With 76 ranged I completed DS2 following your Vorkath and Galvek guides, both first try! The hardest part were the 3 metal dragons before Galvek, but I eventually cheesed them by standing under them while the companions did the damage lol
From one content creator to another, great simple guide, thank you! Love the plot twist at the end lol. I've got a maxed main & iron in RS3, but the high end of OSRS quest bosses are really giving me a different kind of hell. Going to give him a shot to wrap up DS2 now, cheers.
Guess I am a content creator at this point, huh? Glad to help out. What got me past my DS2 wall was just simplifying what to do. Other guides gave all the information and min/max strategies, etc, etc, it felt like overload. Figured I could use my skill in simplification to help others who may have been overwhelmed. Gl on you're attempts! The hardest part for me at least was battling my own nerves in phase 4.
I struggled on him too for a few kills. Then I recorded a run, watched it back, and saw there were only 2 attacks (pink fire and dragonfire ball) from him and 3 tips for the phases to succeed (P1 stay in middle, P3 dodge the wave, and P4 just keep moving). Hope it helped simplify the fight a bit!
The rune/Addy dragons definitely gave me a harder challenge than Galvek or Vork as well. Glad to help, but you deserve all the praise for the kill! Gzzzz!

Thank you. Very helpful guide. Got the kill on 2nd attempt after teleporting away on 1st as I ran out of food on phase 4. (side note: Funnily enough, took me 10 attempts to get past the metal dragons :D)
After 5 attempts I did it. Reactionary play over preventionary play. I was finding in the panic of the last phase, I wasn't able to focus on avoiding his rocks, so the constant walking made it much easier for me to just attack on my tick cycle while walking (being out of run as well). Gzz on the kill and seeing alternate strategies!
@@nayronics for sure! I also think I was going into his melee range occasionally when I was trying to stay moving which didn't help either xD So glad to be done with this, thanks again!

Yeah, it's just gonna be tougher. Anti-dragon shield helps the most. With shield, his max hit is 18. Shield plus regular anitfire potion, his max hit is 3. Shield plus super antifire, his max hit becomes 0 (full dragonfire protection). No shield, his max hit is 66/51/46 (no potion/regular antifire pot/super antifire pot) with his dragonfire attack.
i always run out of food and i'm wearing full black d'hide, i decided to bring more sara brews + recoveries and it still didn't make a difference, I've died already 7 times to this and every time Galvek is bellow 90 health and I make no mistakes. About to give up on this....

@@16bitmetal9 and I can only guess you have an antifire pot and a couple restores. You have the same gear and stats I had, and the fact you passed Vorkath and get him to so low of health means you CAN beat Galvek! Maybe check out that menephite remedy tip as it will constantly restore you're stats from my understanding, negating phase 2 special attack and the brew stat reductions.
@@nayronics oh just as an update to everyone here, I have beat it! I ended up borrowing my clan mates dhcb and using dragon bolts and it did insane amount of damage. I beat it in the first run with it! :D
100% correct. If you have a 0 invocation ToA completion, Galvek is cake. For me, quest Vorkath was more difficult than Galvek, so if you make it to him, you can kill him.
How tf are you just eating those red range attacks. I literally can’t get past phase 4 because they hit 20 through my range prayers. I’m currently stuck on this boss and it’s so irritating running out of food everytime.
If you're making it to phase 4, you should be able to get the kill with a lucky run of bolt procs. I know a few people who have done it that way. Stats/gear? Other option is to get a few more levels and come back.
Someone explain to me why the 2 metal dragons before Galvek were 10x harder than him? Lmao Idk why but the metal dragons made me reset 4 times, rhey kept hitting me thru prayer
Iron man here, literally just got 70 ranged. I don't have access to anti fires yet, using black dhide, helm of noitznot, ruby e and diamond e, with pineapple pizzas. Never done ds2 yet. 😢
Without antifires at Galvek, the Antidragonfire Shield (base one and upgraded one act the same) will take his dragonfire attack to 3 as a max hit. Praying mage on top of this will have no affect, so I'd still pray range. Is there a particular spot in the fight that is hurting more than the others? And I'm guessing at least a rune crossbow is being used?

Im about to face this guy in the quest, is the onslaught of dragons before him tough?
Not too bad and there are checkpoints. The hardest is at the end with the rune and Addy dragons.
@@nayronics yeah took me 3 tries for the final boss :D
Can you do Galvek without antifire potions?
Yeah, it's just gonna be tougher. Anti-dragon shield helps the most.
With shield, his max hit is 18.
Shield plus regular anitfire potion, his max hit is 3.
Shield plus super antifire, his max hit becomes 0 (full dragonfire protection).
No shield, his max hit is 66/51/46 (no potion/regular antifire pot/super antifire pot) with his dragonfire attack.
Great guide! Thanks
No problem. Just trying to help!
Huge help man thanks!
Glad to help out. Gzz on quest complete!
it doesnt matter which i pray against it still melts me for all of my food before i can finish the kill
Gear/levels?
Keep the guides coming!
Next one is being recorded now!
When are we going to get a practically guaranteed corrupted gauntlet so i can start grinding it for massive gps :D!?!
I'll add it to the request log!
@@nayronics i need itttttttttttttttttttt
thank you! was able to get it first try!
Glad to be of service!
Died 3 times already, ruby bolt (e) not working.
Rng be random like that. I know I've felt that feeling.
Great guide
Glad to help!
what plugin are you using to show stats that are drained?
"Boosts Information" I'm pretty sure. Default on runelite
@@nayronics thank you sir.
i always run out of food and i'm wearing full black d'hide, i decided to bring more sara brews + recoveries and it still didn't make a difference, I've died already 7 times to this and every time Galvek is bellow 90 health and I make no mistakes. About to give up on this....
If you can make it to Galvek, you can beat him! What is your set up other than black dhide? (If you're still struggling)
@@nayronics so my gear is: Zamorak Coif, amulet of fury, black d'hide body & chaps, barrows gloves, rune crossbow, ava's accumilator, anti-dragon shield, archers ring(i), snakeskin boots, and I use ammo ruby bolts(e) when Galvek is high hp, and in his last phase I switch to Diamond Bolts (e). I'm 76 att, 81 str, 72 def, 79 range, 74 pray, 76 magic. My Ign: RitzRisay
Switch to a dhorak helm for defense, some kharyrll pieces including blessed dhide
@@nayronics oh just as an update to everyone here, I have beat it! I ended up borrowing my clan mates dhcb and using dragon bolts and it did insane amount of damage. I beat it in the first run with it! :D
thanks for this guide
Glad to provide. Thanks for the comment!
thanks ill use this guide
Glad to share!
thank you very much
You're welcome
what im seeing from this is that even entry mode toa is harder so ill be fine
100% correct. If you have a 0 invocation ToA completion, Galvek is cake. For me, quest Vorkath was more difficult than Galvek, so if you make it to him, you can kill him.
Why didnt you have a wave phase?
I got a lucky ruby bolt proc and the damage pushed him to the next phase before he could send a wave at me.
THANK YOU!!! made me a myth
All credit to yourself! I merely help show that bosses may not be as hard as we can make then out to be.
Thank you!! Got it first try
Gzzz! Glad to help out!
Stats/gear?
Other option is to get a few more levels and come back.
just beat ds2 thanks to this guide
Gzzz! Welcome to the Vorkath farm.
i had no ruby procs on vorkath and like 2 diamond procs feels rigged.
RNG gonna RNG. Sounds like my typical luck as well.
Someone explain to me why the 2 metal dragons before Galvek were 10x harder than him? Lmao
Idk why but the metal dragons made me reset 4 times, rhey kept hitting me thru prayer
Welcome to OSRS quests, where the final boss is not the hardest part of the quest!
