"Scratching Posts" which is a term used for when you place pieces of wall as a distraction for mobs. they will attack this first, and save your real infrastructure. It's especially useful for baiting ranged AoE attacks. This tip is worthwhile for just about any game where you have building an enemies (especially they are billions)
Bro what.! My first outpost is covered in radar but that's cuz I liked the idea of having the map covered No wonder I kept getting hit in th4 acidic plains I had some mainly on key points but didn't cover the whole map like my hq
Inside game folder find the file "initial_config.cfg" and add this missing line anywhere: set camera_enable_zoom "1" And to fix sound from the extra zoom find and edit this line value: set sound_max_distance "500" Now you can zoom out and have way better control and view of your base.
1) Make some tips about mods, a really good one is to mod out mr rigs with maintenance tools when building with rare elements or upgrading buildings. You can save 30% of resources easily on all buildings later in the game. 2) base location is really important, you want some kind of liquid resources in side, or even better, flanking the base. They block enemy's, and you going to need the resources later in the game. 3) Build little squares ( I do 6X4 squares) of defense outposts just in range of artillery towers from your main base , put mine tower lvl 1, rail-gun, and shockwave towers in them. Enemy's attack these first, they are slowed down/damaged by the mines and shock wave towers and it gives you lots of time to react to attack waves. use tip^one to build, so you can afford to let it being destroyed. 4) Buy the game, play the demo (its free but really short), its the best game I played in years! cant wait for co-op!
You can change the size of the upgrade/sell/repair tool and keep your mouse button pressed and just move it over everything. Makes spam upgrading as you tech up much quicker.
Also put wall layers and turrets 1 block afar from each other to prevent aoe to damage everything. And put some low lvl decoy walls around so the enemies attack them first without doing any damage to the base. Plus dont forget to make minefields around the bases, in chokepoints etc..
biggest tip that most people don't realized that turrets can be modded as well w/ the different mods you pick up threw Stashes.... If you running out of carbo and iron in the early game Scanner will help you find new nodes. Tier 3 Miner is highly more efficient 1item to 4per sec 400% increase in output.
Came back to the tips since I just started the game. I finished the prologue today, but I dragged it out for like 5+ hours as was enjoying it. Some good ones for sure, definitely has helped.
For the plant biomass powerplant do I need to keep going outside and cutting grass? I see a power production surge whenever I cut plants. But the power will dip down when I stop cutting plants, sometimes even power outage. I don't have this harvester (harvesting plants by itself) mentioned in other reddit posts, where can I find it?
1 question i always asked myself is when i see a mining field, carbonium cobalt etc whatever, should i place the miner so that it covers most of the spots, or should i spread them to the corners of the field so it would be 4miners than 1?
Best is to put the big one on the 3×3 ore cause it will cost (in energy) but also last the most. And then you may fill the corners square remaining with slowest, but less costly in energy, miners
Games deff easier with a key board and mouse you can be aloe more precise when building but the combat I prefer more on the ps5 controller rather then my keyboard and mouse!
Wtf, I just knew how to use Portal for fast travel, been searching for this info for so long. And I never knew the research has "TABS", wtf, I have been only upgrading buildings.
@@KenetorTV I assume energy storage does need a connection? Does it have to be next to a power source or can it be connected using electrical connector?
help, why not let me investigate the section where an alien head appears? I give him to investigate but time does not run, I do not know if you can make a small video of how to put the alien research building to work BECAUSE I DO NOT USE IT
The alien research lab needs power AND water to operate. Get mud from mud pools with pumps send the mud through pipes to liquid storage units then run pipes from mud storage to a water filter station and run pipes from the water filter station to seperate liquid storage to hold filtered water.. Finally run filtered water via pipes from the liquid storage to the input by the green arrow on the alien research lab. Once you have it hooked up to power and filtered water it will begin researching. To speed up research time you build multiple alien research labs as the building limit allows it.
@@KenetorTV Damn, I wanted a space cookie! Maybe next time… love the videos by the way. Very well thought out. I just picked up the game and have just learned a few more things. =]
Hey James, what are you finding complecated, ive known many other games that could top this, while not simple its certainly not overly complicated in my opinion, maybe I or others could help where you are stuck if youtell us more.
@KenetorTV I think it was too overwhelming with the number of choices and things to do. I stopped playing on the very first level after day 7. Maybe I should try again at some point.
@@jamesg871 maybe you were just having an off day, im not ashamed that occationally i will play a tutorial or an intro mission or 2 twice before i fully get everything. Riftbreaker is alot of fun though once it does click!
Try play a campaign (on easy), as it is basically a tutorial...be sure to listen to Ashley and Mr Riggs - they tell you what to do, for the most part. You might still need to google 1 or 2 things, but any RTS worth playing involves some kind of effort when it comes to learning the ropes.
1) Use your radar support to help you explore, use it every 30 seconds while running around and avoiding enemies. 2) Scanning? Don't worry - you'll unlock scanning turrets you can just plop down regularly and they'll scan for you. 3) Radar stations prevent enemy spawns. 4) Teleport stations can be accessed from anywhere once built so you can teleport around the map when needed. 5) Repair things in large chunks with the extra area. 6) Have fun and take it at your own pace PS: our brains get better at what we do when we sleep

i use these alot now, at least untill they update the AI to ignore them haha
They are billions, what a game.
Enemies don't spawn in radar coverage. Build radars all over your base and outposts. Cover the map with radar coverage.
Ty I keep getting attacked so I just repair half the time instead of fortifying!!
Very true.

I've heard some buzz about this game. I'll have to give it a look. Great vid bro
definitely worth a look! I have an affiliate link in the description if you get it ;)

kinda, when you complete the campaign you unlock challenge mode which is kinda new game plus, lots of replay here!
Never heard about this before now, thanks for the info! I might need to check it out myself
Hope you like it!
It's fun. I'd recommend
You should also consider looking for a swamp and other environmental help at the start of base building. Deposits will run out... But swamps won't 😉
What do you get from swamps?
What type of building and process is needed?
I just want to know how do I see what I have currently built on my base? There must be some way for me to see what hasn't been destroyed
Great tips, will help my gameplay a lot! first time playing this Genre of gaming and it can be punishing haha!! love it!
Glad I could help!

It's fixed now.
very useful tips

This game is great.
I love it too!
hammer is so much better than spear for big enemies
The best way to protect your base is to work your way to the edge of the map and wall and tower the whole map.
Then you never have a problem again
😂😂
I kinda did that but kept one area clear so i could keep farming the spawns.
