Haha, i can see it. we're exploring a new style atm but I'm glad you came back around :) Still got some work to do, but the new thumb style seem to be making a huge impact so far!
About Day One, it is very buggy as survivors are coded as zombies with human animations, meaning actual zombies will often ignore survivors to rush you among a crowd of 20, or they'll freeze mid animation while attacking a survivor. Survivors will always know where you are to attack or just wreck your safehouse
I really struggle with direction. I don't know what's broken in my brain but it's really bad. That navigate mod is a life saver. I usually run my games with difficulty and accuracy as top priority, but I find myself getting so frustrated with my poor directional skills that I can ignore it for that mod.
@sjonnieplayfull5859 i LOVE that idea. I'm doing a rp of a real-estate developer who was sent to fix up rosewood for resale when the whole outbreak is over 🤣
Not sure if you've covered it before, but there's a mod that makes arcade machines and the flipper playable. Always felt like such a missed opportunity. It plays an animation and a sound, and gives the player character a little happiness.
If you want a different vehicle pack KI5 also does exactly what Filibuster does as well at 5:05 Theres vanilla replacers, scene replacers, wreck replacers as well. The mod features various different types of vehicles: Old beaters Military vehicles Sports cars Trucks Vans Police, Fire and Ambulance And many more! Many, if not most, are fully animated with many different upgrades. Such as extra storage, working armour, sirens and light bars.
It's an older mod, but for anyone wanting to be able to remove/add negative traits as you go, and find that the magazines mod is too OP, the Dynamic traits is the one for you. Yes, some traits you can get/lose GIGA easily (like gaining weight to lose the underweight trait will take you like 2 in game days if you just eat butter), but it's a pretty good one
It'd be cool to find a car with a GPS set to go somewhere, where you can explore and find what they were looking for or going to. Also, GPS satellite systems that degrade over time, with the poorer brand of satellites eventually crashing into the earth, while the higher quality ones only become slightly less accurate over time.
For those looking for a few alternatives to the Workshop Mod and it's weapons and armor addons I suggest you look at Pallontras's mods. Pallontras has made a weapon pack that adds Scrap Metal and Forged Melee Weapons (a reason to level up Metalworking), Gauss Firearms from fallout (perfect for no gun loot runs) and the Tikhar Air Pressure Rifle from the Metro games (also good for no gun loot runs). After asking Pallontras about a Scrap Guns mod they said they want to make a Scrap Guns Pack but, is waiting for the right moment in life or tell after Build 42 comes out
I wrote this whole thing out before I realised you were talking about self-driving rather than GPS in general but I'm still posting it. GPS was actually released for civilian use in 1983, a good 10 years before the start of the outbreak. Although, it wasn't until the Gulf War that Selective Availability (an intentional error that reduced accuracy to ~100m) was disabled so I suppose _accurate_ GPS is technically period innacurate.
GPS is inaccurate in any case if the apocalypse comes. Unless multiple stations on earth upload navigational corrections and time information to the satellites every day or so, they will start to drift from their nominal orbit, and therefore the position the device on your hand will tell you will be way off. So in case of an apocalypse GPS is gone in a matter of a couple of weeks at best...
The gun sound overhaul sound more realistic but I actually like the base gun sounds more, they sound punchier from the few example that you played. Been thinking about doing another Zomboid run and then this popped up, thanks.
I've made some simple mods for my own use (and finally replaced most of them with better workshop mods). And for being someone who put my hands in the most basic modding of that game, I'm geuinly impressed by the dedication of the people making those very neat mods. It's a lot of work, and I have no doubt that they have to deal with some strange old (legacy?) choices of coding that can wear off anyone's motivation (or am I projecting? :D), but they do it anyway. :)
I only started playing Zomboid yesterday but I'm obsessed, I've been watching your videos for a few months so I'll finally get to try out all your recommendations 😊
Ah I wish the helicopter mods could go up and down levels so you could land them on buildings. Nothin like being able to find and use a helicopter to move between tall buildings in a “Floor Is Lava” challenge
Day One is extremely broken. Enemies spawn on top of me every few minutes inside my starter house, and there were no friendly NPCs...they all were hostile.
i havent played Zomboid in almost a year. I got the urge this week and just finished tweaking my modlist. Like 250 mods that I debugged and then as I was taking a break before launching this popped up! Back to the drawing board i go.

I can't wait to play Build 42 beta in Q4 of 2025... *he said with heavy sarcasm* Several months ago when they came out and said that Build 42 was taking too long and they were going to trim down the fat and make the update a more manageable size, I stupidly thought that was actually going to happen and we might play it before the end of the year. I'm quickly starting to rethink that mindset. And as of late how they recently announced it won't be for multiplayer at first is even more of a kick in the pants - since that's exclusively the only way I play the game. Duck, your updates are the only thing that keep driving my interest in the game at this point. Much appreciation sir! Keep up the amazing work!
Maybe I'm the only person but I don't like vehicle animations. If your car is at an angle it can be super hard/glitch entering the vehicle. I wish they had an option to disable that maybe they do. Actually my current playthrough all the animated cars on the map just lost all their doors hoods and trunks. So now I've got a bunch on car husks strewn across the map. Would be fine for scenery I guess but they look like brand new cars just missing every part. Probably going to get rid on those mods on my next playthrough which sucks because they often are cool looking cars.
is there a mod that gives vehicles their own recognisable engine sound, i.e. V8's that sound like V8's, VW Beetles that sound like VW Beetles, etc. i only ask as most vehicles, especially cars, appear to have the same engine note. thx

I binged the food and sat on my porch waiting to get eaten
Let's be real, Day One mod is not a great experience. It's buggy, unbalanced and I can't see what people enjoy about it. It introduces absolut mayhem which might be fun for some time, but starting in a world in which many houses are burnt down and where are NPC groups of 10+ people with rifles, that follow you like bodyguards but kill you if you accidentaly punch one of them.... no thanks.
I mean it's okay to not like something, doesn't mean others can't enjoy it :D I can understand not liking it for the bugs right now, fair enough, but we were still able to have a ton of fun with it and it's a big step forward.
Yeah no I clicked this video because I know you and know your videos are good but that thumbnail really turned me off, do NOT do that again I wouldn't have clicked if I didn't already know you
I think it's the download button :) I've taken the advice on-board from folks and we'll see if we can change how that looks in the next ones! It's actually doing a lot better than my old style, but I get why the download button made it seem like an ad for something, so that part we can change :D Please don't make demands of me though, that's not cool. Polite suggestions or feedback are always better received.
I think it's time Indie Stone sold the IP to someone who would actually be bothered about getting B42 done, because Indie Stone obviously just cannot be bothered themselves, and the brilliant modders have done more for this game than the devs ever have or ever will.

Is it just me that thinks the mod gun sounds are significantly worse?
You can spend more time modding than playing the game lol
90 pages is way to less!
Just a comment for comments sake
Appreciate the support all the same :)
Hmm, I wouldn't recommend One day mod. It's to broken
28 seconds no views, you fell off!
I see this on all my videos now 😂
@@MrAtomicDuck you cant escape us heeh >:)
It would probably be best not to keep releasing the best mods to use since essentially every single mod is about to break once 42 goes live.
I'd have very little to talk about in the PZ world right now if it weren't for mods.
@@MrAtomicDuckplus dint the team say build 42 would be bringing some qol to how mods are handled and updated
Act undead
Covered it in my last mods video! :D
@@MrAtomicDuck how did I miss that?
@@MrAtomicDuck been enjoying that with 'they knee', pretending to be a z to infiltrate a large group and find the hazmat z
It's actually doing a lot better than my old style, but I get why the download button made it seem like an ad for something, so that part we can change :D
Please don't make demands of me though, that's not cool. Polite suggestions or feedback are always better received.
@@MrAtomicDuck bet :D really loved the video btw
Thank you!
I thought somebody i subbed got hacked because of that thumbnail, a fan of your stuff, not of this style
I understand why the developer is stressed - these modders do more work in less time than the actual game does - he needs to just hire them
Build 42 is taking way too long
I think it's time Indie Stone sold the IP to someone who would actually be bothered about getting B42 done, because Indie Stone obviously just cannot be bothered themselves, and the brilliant modders have done more for this game than the devs ever have or ever will.
