this mod would be even better if after more days pass the amount of survivors decreases and zombies increase and a varying amount of bombing runs and condition of cars until it eventually becomes regular pz with some survivor camps and travelling groups
Look more into the mod ;) thanks exactly how it works. its customizable to the point where there are i believe 16 bandit factions that can spawn in determined by what you put in the sandbox settings, each faction has its own setting and name. though these setting are new-ish they were in the mod as of my playing it 2 weeks ago.
Day One really needs a safety mechanism to make it harder to accidentally hit a friendly NPC. Or some mechanism for clemency for when you spray down a cluster of zombies already eating the face off an NPC and take down that already-doomed NPC in the process. I mean, chaos is the point, but it makes it basically impossible to actually use friendly NPCs as anything other than distractions to dump pursuing zombies onto.
This is EXACTLY what I asked the modder for in their comments, an option to turn off NPC targeting unless already hostile. He didn't seem too keen on the idea sadly :(
Superb Survivors didn't had a problem with that for friendly NPCs. All he has to do was not make your allies attack you when you accidentally attack them.
My bet is that the mod author was trying to recreate the feeling of that one scene in black summer where a bunch of survivors tried to fight their way to the arena. Because they didn't have the training, they ended up being in each other's crossfire
This mod is amazing, my first time playing it I was as bitten by a zombie and scratched up bad jumping out a window, ran to another house and covered all the windows with curtains, locking all doors. Bandaging myself, washing my bandages in the sink, I just listened outside as gunfire would slow down, eventually becoming silent, and then the bombs started. I ran to a medical center I saw earlier and it was charred black with a group of military guys outside, I tried to make it to a new house but was shot by someone and died. I think the initial outbreak is the coolest part of zombie media
I've found the explosions in this mod are kind of disruptive, and destroys most base locations (The survivors ignoring doors and throwing themselves through windows and destroying barricades also kinda sucks). Also, because only the area your character loads gets destroyed in the first day, It can ruin the immersion when you find a new area.
I think a better way of implementation is preventing the NPCs from actually following the player and would instead for the 1st week of the game they would be numerous but would act like just background fluff unless they are military or police. After the 1st week (could also follow the Louiseville blockade dates) the NPC background fluff would slowly become rare, and the actual survivors would start to spawn that can be interacted with. And by the 1st month the only way to find survivors would be rare survivor camps with more than atleast 3 people with the rare occassion of finding survivors in survivor homes.
90% of NPCs are working this way. They spawn around you, but does not follow the player. The 2 NPCs that start with you are your "familly" members so they follow you. Then one team of soldiers and 3 army veterans. Additionally you can right click on any of these NPCs and order them to leave you. The reason why they follow you is I wanted the player to discover that they increase your survival chance during the final event where you have to fight off 30+ bikers. But most players are accustomed to the fact that they are alone fighting the rest of the world so I understand.
@@slayer_pzhey, if you’re actually the dev of the mod, you should see if it’s at all possible to assign voices to only certain survivor groups. Such as, police voicelines for the police group, and military voicelines for the military group. Of course this would require even more voice work probably, but I feel like if you leave some documentation and some of the framework for other modders, someone might come along and supply their own voicelines. It’s entirely up to you however, since I know some modders are a bit stingy when it comes to letting other people “reupload” their mod. But it will be a welcome change to see more appropriate voicelines (or even just speech bubble text) for other survivor groups.
I would imagine the race event was just a big pile up of cars. My first thoughts be "everyone is going to wreck. Might as well play the tortoise role."

@@MrAtomicDuck Yeah, I totally agree with you! I saw some mods or pack of mods that add a totally different (and amazing and sometimes insane) twist to the whole zombie appocalypse. And the build 42 and what's planed behind will even more broaden the possibilities. :) I'm so hyped. ^^
Imagine the Bandits mod with the Stalker Outfits mod. We'd be able to properly role play STALKER with 10 Years Later, the Bandits mod and respective gun mods with that EDIT: Also imagine the Police Stations getting bombed the airstrikes. That would be a massive pain since you would have to double time it in order to get the guns and ammo before the building comes down because of the bombing runs

Mr Duck, Can you recommend a modder who takes commissions? I am trying to have a few small small mods commissioned and don’t know who or where to start.
@MrAtomicDuck north of Killian county mod. Has 2 cities, smaller city on Eastside of giant island prison (alcatraz), NW part of smaller city has a garage with a poster of you 🤔. Mod dev must be a fan. Place has very unique items, like terminator and alien statue, to name a few. It's a bit south of the garage in vhs store. Very high zeds population. 1 shotty blast and hundreds of zefs will stream out of each buildings.
As awesome as this mod is and I enjoyed it quite a lot, I had to disable it in the end. Even if you manage to survive Day One, those damn NPCs will be the death of you. There is no way to tell if they are hostile or if they turn hostile because you did something. I once entered a house where survivors were at and yelled at me to leave. I did, but they started to chase me and would not stop until they caught me and beat me to death. The only way I see to survive in Day One, is to treat ALL NPCs as hostile after Day One. Shoot them all. I really dislike that, honestly. I get it that there would be lot of bandits in this setting but I want there to be SOME friendly NPCs, even if its a small number. Problem is, no way to tell when they turn hostile or what makes them turn hostile. Aside from attacking them, obviously. Awesome mod, been playing multiple times and only manage to make it to day 2. Frustrating thing is how the NPCS have no concept of social distancing (in a virus outbreak even) and stands right up to you literally rubbing crotches. They tend to also hone to you, disregarding the zeds nearby, while getting in the way of you trying to clear the area. Workaround I found is to get into a car so they break contact and engage the zombies. But be careful they will crowd around the car, and when you stub their toes as you drive, they can get mad and aggro you instead
"rubbing crotches" is the correct way to describe it. I've agro'd a bunch of NPCs in this mod who walked between me and zombies I was beating on. Still so much fun!
@@slayer_pz Pretty sure I responded, not quite sure if the comment was deleted but right click I get "Join Me" not Leave Me. I have to click Join and then get the Leave me option
Really awesome mod and idea! I just hope the NPCs get fixed so you don't have 10 NPCs running in and out of you not leaving you alone. I also had NPCs and zombies constantly running right to me while hiding in a room trying to get my gear setup, never seen or made a noise just B-lined to me. Never a fan of enemies always knowing where you are and would like an option to disable that as well for the bandits. Still a fun chaotic mod but I would appreciate those changes or options. Couldn't imagine all the work that went into it so hats off to the dev!
I am not against the idea of npcs but these npcs are not too smart yet. Superb survivors slightly better but if the devs starts working on them on build 0.43-44 then they have some inspiration.
