My 2012 Ride I bought used in 2015 from a Pawn Shop that had posted it on craigslist. Got the additional seats for it from guys on kayak fishing forums who advertised them in the classified sections on those forums. All of our other yaks were new. I've bought plenty of other stuff on craigslist over the years. The usual cautions apply; meet in public, meet during the day, be armed if your state allows it, be situationally aware when you meet.
Great tips! I bought my first kayak used and I was lucky enough to try it out in a pond before buying it. There are so many things to look out for when buying a kayak, and this video did a great job of summing it all up! Thanks for sharing!
Man that was great tip and information. I have a CO worker that's looking for a use kayak right now. I will share this video with him so he would know the knowledge of it. Great video thank you for sharing it.
I just bought a used native manta ray 12 propel with a garmin 9SV nocqua battery a bending branches paddle a Jcreate and a net all for $1050 of market plus
If you are looking in the 5-600 range. I have a lot of Wendell Fishing Community that enjoy their Lifetime Tamarack. I don't think it would be too comfortable for an all day trip but a 2-3 hour outings.. it would do the trick.
Great question brother. Hard to answer because it is largely preference based. I have a 2018 Native Slayer Propel 10.. and it's still a solid yak..but it has been taking care of and stored correctly as well.
That's the year model I'm actually looking at 😂😂😂, but at a Jackson. Didn't really want to spend a whole lot starting off. I also figured I could update later down the road.
Hey NL, If you can find a deal and have done your research, you can get a great kayak (like new) or even modified to your liking for cheap. When it comes to PD kayaks, of course I like the Native Slayer Propel 10 as that is the one I use, however, don't worry too much about your height as the seat adjusts forward and backwards to accomodate.
unfortunately.. outside of calling the police and checking to see if it was stolen is the only real way that I know of. Most of the time.. they are sold before the owner whom it was stolen from even knows it's gone.

Has it been in a flood is the best question 😂🤣😂. Good stuff as always!!
Thanks Sharky! Appreciate it.
Some yaks have a transducer scupper. That is a scupper that on the outside is the size and shape to accommodate a transducer.
Great video! Thanks for all the helpful things to look out for. I really appreciate your channel!
Happy to help!
You are absolutely right! Go for the close and shut the front door! They must have worked on a car lot lol
Anthony.. Probably :)
Great points. I'm about to go look at a boat just like yours.
Nice! Hope you get a great deal!

Thanks boss!
Good, solid information that applies to more than kayaks!! Good stuff, thanks!
Thanks Mark…. Appreciate it!
Most of the big box sporting goods stores have carbon fiber paddles around $100 now.
lol, a stripped out screw is a problem? Replace it with a rivet, or well nut, or a stainless steel nut if you can reach the inside.
Maybe not a problem, but it can be used as a bargaining tool to reduce the price.

I have a cheap 200 dollar fishing kayak now. I'm not rich. What is a great sit on top fishing kayak for my next step up?

How old is too old? 2? 4? 6years old? I understand that the older they are, the more that can go wrong or have to be replaced.

@@kevinpitts3548 You should be good if you do a good inspection. You will be able to quickly tell if they took care of it.
@@wendellfishing thanks again
Is it better to get a used kayak, or spend the extra money for a new one? Also, what pedal kayak would you recommend for a 5' 4" 13 year old?

Is there a resource for checking if a kayak is stolen?

It does ))))
