- We are in the endgame now.
The Clone Wars S07/E09 "Old Friends Not Forgotten" aired on Friday and I wanted to share this. At the start of the episode, Obi-Wan saves Cody's life. Days later, Cody executes Order 66 and betrays Obi-Wan. This hurts on so many levels.
This episode was fantastic and it hurt a lot. What a start to the "Siege of Mandalore" arc!
Rex: *Fights the chip and struggles to hold back against it*
Cody: So anyway I started blasting
Lol but It’s really just sad. Rex resisted, but Cody didn’t even try. It really makes you think about how Coby felt about the Jedi and
Obi-wan. Did Cody really not see his general as a friend during those 3 years. (Than again it was the prequel films and no one anticipated the series back then)
@@tiyonbaret6914 Cody didn't resist because he didn't know about it
@@Cyberleader672 Oh yeah
@@tiyonbaret6914 Cody didn't resisted because the prequel trilogy didn't cared about clones unlike clone wars
@@achintya-7 lmao exactly xD ppl have a bunch of theories on why rex resisted and Cody didn't, of course a lot of them make sense but this is def the main reason
Cody's betrayal hurts more then I ever thought possible before watching the Clone Wars. Clone Wars made me love Cody and the clones.
It’s not his fault tho
It hurt before TCW too.
He didn't betray him though... It was his chip
Ugh...you kept showing up at every comment section whining about what you felt. Makes sense since the fanfics you made were cringy enough
@@harbingerd.8457 The fact that you are attacking someone who shares their opinion is just sad. XD
That new Obi-Wan scene was so legendary and caught me off guard when I watched it last week
Too bad he was hardly in season 7
Damn why is obiwan so good at cutting things mid air
Anakin: “I HATE YOU”
cody and obi wan made a great couple wish they got married
That should be obi wan's 4th ability in bf2 "the high ground slice"
Ikr
It really is not that good because it made Anakin hate Obi wan
I like how palps specifically get rid of obi wan by calling cody first bc he knew obi might be able to bring anakin back
Actually I think he called Cody first because he was the highest ranked clone in the clone army
@@ronnieroy485 Well good point but I think so that he wanted to get rid of Obi-Wan first because Palpatine knew that 212th attack Battalion was lead by Obi-Wan among with Cody and that Obi-Wan's was one of the strongest Jedi ever so I think that's why he killed him or we are both right in a way
@@ronnieroy485 was Cody the highest ranked?
@@bigmonke1449 one of, he’s a clone marshal commander. That’s the highest rank a clone can achieve and there were only a couple of them, Cody, Fox, Bly, Bacara and Neyo.
A small tear swept through my face as later on in that scene he said "blast them" and that command is later on used to betray obi wan
it wan't his fault
66 likes as there should be
Without the inhibitor chip, I'm sure Cody could never betray Kenobi
You know Cody was sour he didn't get the order before he gave Obi Wan his lightsabre back?
@@fatallyfatcat5274 I know he gave the lightsaber back before the order, but what do you mean?
@@HelloThereGameplays He was unhappy he didn't get the order earlier when Kenobi was unarmed.
Before the Clone Wars show inhibitor chips weren't a thing and the clones executed order 66 on free will..which honestly made it more disturbing, so before that was decanonized, Cody ordered to shoot him even though he had the free will not to
He rights, cody will never betrayal his jedi
Obi-wan: "I'd protect you with my life Cody."
Cody: "Thank you, Sir."
Obi-wan: "Cody, you're supposed to say it back."
Cody: "Yes Sir."
Obi-wan: "Well then?"
Cody: "Well than what, sir?"
Obi-wan: "I've got a bad feeling about this..."
Good soldiers follow orders.

The more you watch Clone Wars, the harder it hurts to see Cody betray Obi-Wan. He was probably fighting the programming chip with all his might and it’s sad that the movies failed to show it.
The subtle movement by Cody when Palps executed Order 66 may be interpreted as he was shocked before his programming activated
ROTS Novel:
“Yes, sir.” A silent buzzing vibration came from a compartment concealed within his armor. Cody frowned. “Go on ahead, General. We’ll be right behind you.”
That concealed compartment held a secure comlink, which was frequency-locked to a channel reserved for the commander in chief.
Kenobi nodded and spoke to his mount, and the great beast overleapt the clone commander on its way down into the battle.
Cody withdrew the comlink from his armor and triggered it.
A holoscan appeared on the palm of his gauntlet: a hooded man.
“It is time,” the holoscan said. “Execute Order Sixty-Six.”
Cody responded as he had been trained since before he’d even awakened in his crèche-school. “It will be done, my lord."
The holoscan vanished. Cody stuck the comlink back into its concealed recess and frowned down toward where Kenobi rode his dragonmount into selflessly heroic battle.
Cody was a clone. He would execute the order faithfully, without hesitation or regret. But he was also human enough to mutter glumly, “Would it have been too much to ask for the order to have come through before I gave him back the bloody lightsaber …?”
@@RyanTheDark When ROTS novel published, the TCW series hasn't been released yet. More importantly, ROTS novel is Legend now.
@@lawrencegreen7191 Cody was always obedient and by the book. He would have gave the same reaction now even with the Clone Wars. He served the Republic first and foremost, not the Jedi.
@@RyanTheDarkI don't think so. In the TCW series every clone was more like human, not droid.
Obi wan is the GOAT
It's enough to make a grown man cry
This made me cry
This is the most epic moment of the Clone Wars
Cody: General!
Goosebumps every time 🤩🤩
This is where Cody's redemption arc begins.
The biochip takes full control of a clone's mind. All memories gone, it's like they reset.
This scene is so damn underrated
Boys... it happened... Bad Batch season 2 episode 2. I am in tears
Inhibitor chip might be removed from Cody in Obi-Wan Disney+ series and Cody might ally with Obi-Wan
you're onto something.....
or it won’t be removed and cody will be a villian :,(
@@jamesthomas9020 Don't worry, I sure Cody will remove chip in Star wars Bad batch crossover Movie with Transformers Cyberverse before kenobi series.
This comment section didnt kniw that cody won’t take out the chip and still serves the empire as a drill sergeants or trainer
IS IT TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR?
PROBABLY BUT-
The new animation is amazing
Appreciate the upload
But the lightsabers look like spaghetti
What do you mean new animation? Is there a new show or something
I love how the season properly reintroduced the return of the best character in Clone Wars!!!!!
Poor lizard
I mean... Cody didn't really have control over himself, none of the clones did.
0:23 in the trailers I though obi wan was flying on some creature
Maybe cody was fighting the chip.
Maybe the reason he used cannon is because he knew obi wan would survive it.
Cody could have set up a better ambush for obi wan but he didn't.
I felt so awesome during the first clip, although not so much in the second clip
"You know it makes us differet from battle droids? We make our own decisions, our own choices... and we have to live with them two..."
Cody
If there was no context behind the chips and order 66 it would look way sadder, he has zero hesitation before gunning down Obi wan, even though he saved him
I hope Cody in The Bad Batch season 2 where he already remove his chip.
When you are loyal and your number one guy at work backstabs u.
About Rex, he's known Ahsoka since she was a youngling ("PADAWAN"). His slight hesitation to shoot her, and his knowledge of what "Fives" told him gives him reason to hesitate.
On a different note. Obiwan should have had a deeper splash. At least an injury from hitting rock.
This scene was so well done
Not gonna talk about the times Cody had to save Obi Wan?
Even though the Inhibitor Chips weren’t established until The Clone Wars, I like to think that Cody pausing after Palpatine told him to execute Order 66 was him being in the same state of shock as Rex. Like, he didn’t want to execute the order, but had no choice.
You are actually correct in thinking Cody pauses after receiving order 66.
Unfortunately in the novelization of revenge of the sith the only thing that went through Cody’s head was “why did you wait till after I gave him his lightsaber?”
Obi wan: saves Cody
Cody: *Blast him*
I wander if Disney will reanimate this seen for Star Wars the clone wars
its not his fault
I always hated the part when the lizard fell. ;_; Such a horrible noise. Poor thing.
0:26 Epic
It's sad b/c I don't think Cody would've followed that order if he got his chip removed.

I’m still wondering what made One of Kanan’s clone get his senses back even though he was controlled by the chip
Who cares
Superjayjay 09 you just had to be that one guy in the comments
According to the comics, one had a mental breakdown after killing his master. That clone then made his ship self-destruct as atonement.
Its just a kids movie anyways who cares

This scene: *exists*
The shippers: 💥👄💥

Cody didnt have a choice... his chip didnt get removed sadly...
Cody explaining why obiwan is still alive : "NOBodY COuLD SuRVive ThAT FalL SiR
cody had no choice tho
never trust a clown
He just did it without any emotion. Damn it Cody!!! 🤦🏾🤦🏾
I mean Cody was more susceptible to the control of the chip. He used the clones strategies, and didn’t think too heavily outside of the normal battle plans and whatnot like Rex. Rex being under Anakin is what gave him the strength to break away from the Order’s directive.
Then again, Cody wasn’t really given much lore at the time of TCW so… eh.
That's not his fault at all. He was made to execute order 66. Imagining a scenario you program a robot and order the programmed robot to do whatever you want, is it really practicable for the robot to defy the program in their body? We shouldn't be too hard on Cody. I believe Obi-wan forgave Cody regardless since Obi-wan knew Cody was compelled to do order 66. Even for bad batch, Wrecker's inhibitor chip was activated after clone wars. Before that, bad batch's chips were considered inactivated.
Wouldn’t call this a betrayal. The clones aren’t to blame for Order 66, when they’re just as much of victims as the jedi are.
Cody was the biggest Clone Traitor ever, He played everyone and everything in Clone Wars
Dude, It wasn't his faults, It was the inhibitor chip. We will see him in Bad Batch season 2, he already remove his chip, which it could A Commander Cody series.
@@isaacrebellion9893 Really?! Any source to testify that?

There’s a thing called the bad batch pal. Just you watch and wait.

There may not be much of anything pointing towards Codywan being canon, but goddamit if scenes like that first one don't make me love the pairing even more.
(Also just straight up Obi is a badass for doing that)
The clone wars makes the rest of the Star Wars prequels look like a shitty fan fiction
Not all of it
Okay but like.... why is this so romantically coded??? Or maybe it's just me but...
Its not. Dense cinderblock.
