Some UA-camrs... including me, Take sooooo long to get to the point of the video. And get distracted. This makes it harder on the person filming. And on the viewers. No one wants to see someone that takes sooo long.

Hahaha so true but also, having a background to analyze while listening to the audio is nice sometime, just watching someone can be really boring.. Haha I know I'm always multitasking when I listen to UA-cam.😂
One of the mistakes I realize is definitely my intro's take too long. If I were the one watching my videos, I would never watch the whole thing with how much I babble about other things instead of previewing the video with a strong opening statement or as you suggested, a thought provoking question. My biggest mistake is to see UA-cam as a number. Only views, followers, likes. Once I changed my focus on the FUN OF EDITING I.. I'm not sure if it improved, but I started to enjoy it at least🤣

A big mistake I see (and I've made myself in the past) is not having your thoughts together ahead of time when filming. Not every video needs a script but you should still have an idea of how the video's going to go/the topics you're going to cover. Otherwise you'll have to put in a lot more work into editing and it can still come off rambly. Great video you guys!

I cannot even tell you how many UA-camrs I've walked away from because of this very thing, like a 20 min video that took 5 min to get past the intro, only to have 7 or 8 minutes of applicable content?? They've lost me now, that's for sure- and how many other current or potential subscribers? And if not now, they will in the future as higher standards are set and bring with them higher expectations. Maggie! YES! I've been guilty of it too. Focusing on what I'm trying to share helps. I don't write scripts. But I will jot down the points I want to make. And I will practice them in the shower😳I only do 1 vid a week. So i usually have a few days practice getting my point across. And when I don't at least focus on specific points...I can really tell the difference in my video quality.
I agree. And, I sometimes fall victim to this. I am prone to falling in love with the sound of my voice and rambling a little. But, whenever I have a clear idea of what I wish to accomplish that day it is so much better. Wish you continued success Maggie!

I was expecting a bonus point about having the lighting behind them!! Half of Benji's face was blurry the entire video! Lighting shouldn't be behind you, it should be in front of you and reflecting on your face to get enough natural brightness
Mohamed DoDDa I know what you mean, it took me a while to get comfortable when I'm in front of the camera. When I watch my old videos, I'm amazed at how much of a difference being comfortable on camera makes 👍🏽
Mohamed DoDDa my first video I just had to DO IT. I did the video and posted without reviewing. (On purpose.) Turns out the video, not the audio, froze about 13 seconds in. (Not on purpose.) for me it was a good leap and now I don't know that anything will be as amateur as that so I know I'm "safe." Try it. We're all here to back you up. It won't be perfect but it will be a start!
I think everyone deals with that at first. I am guessing you are being too hard on yourself. Just shoot what you think is good and go with it. You will get better as you go. good luck.

I'm a beginner, beginner, but I had an idea for individuals with a lot of time on their hands and patience. Create two or three videos before you publish. Then publish the first video and upload the second and third (while working on the forth) on the days you chosen to consistently post your video. It will give you enough time when you start ahead like that. As for if it will work, I'm trying that out now. Also, guys, I like the "look in the lens and not your face" I kinda laughed because I learned that quite recently and out of all the advice I've seen on UA-cam that one I didn't get.

I noticed that as well. I am a new UA-camr and I was working on getting some props for my show. I am going to wait until I really determine where I really want to shoot. I love doing things on location because of the fact that i get to meet new people.
The most indescribable feeling is when you wake up in the morning and nothing has changed. This made me think if I should continue my youtube channel or not. Calling new youtubers, don't give up, keep trying, create more and better content and one day, we will be known to the whole world.

Great video! Mistakes I see beginners making is NOT responding to their comments. This is a great opportunity to build rapport with current and potentially new subscribers. I sometimes fail, but more times than not, I do resond to my comments. They take the time to comment to me, I should take time time as well! Anyone agree?
Scotty Dont I totally agree! Whenever someone takes free time out of their day to write me a kind sentence; I consider it a honor. I always respond back.
Responding to comments takes time but the effort is imperative and will eventually corollate to success. Succinct, short responses are the best. Thanking someone for their efforts is essential. Negative comments should be welcome. It’s all about strategy, time and effort when responding. Always be polite, respectful and willing to listen.

A Strong into gets me everytime and being consistent is very key. If you don't feel like you can't be consistent then create your videos in batches and put them out while you have time to work on new ideas.
CaptainJoe9 Maybe you can just play around with creative ways to film yourself producing firewood. Like timelapse, diferent angles, drone fotage, or post production video effects.
I think creating videos in batches is a great idea. I've done that on a small scale, once, where I filmed 2 videos in one go. I think another key thing, and it definitely goes in line with energy, is to film when you're in a good mood. I've definitely skipped out on filming when I knew that my mood was low, so to speak, and that would certainly translate on screen. So if you've had a bad day? Maybe wait till the next day to film when things are fresh, and you have a better outlook on what you want to accomplish.

I'm a beginner, beginner, but I had an idea for individuals with a lot of time on their hands and patience. Create two or three videos before you publish. Then publish the first video and upload the second and third (while working on the forth) on the days you chosen to consistently post your video. It will give you enough time when you start ahead like that. As for if it will work, I'm trying that out now. Also, guys, I like the "look in the lens and not your face" I kinda laughed because I learned that quite recently and out of all the advice I've seen on UA-cam that one I didn't get.

Great video! Mistakes I see beginners making is NOT responding to their comments. This is a great opportunity to build rapport with current and potentially new subscribers. I sometimes fail, but more times than not, I do resond to my comments. They take the time to comment to me, I should take time time as well! Anyone agree?

Responding to comments takes time but the effort is imperative and will eventually corollate to success. Succinct, short responses are the best. Thanking someone for their efforts is essential. Negative comments should be welcome. It’s all about strategy, time and effort when responding. Always be polite, respectful and willing to listen.

I mean, when we see someone subscribing to our channel, let us visit their channel. WATCH ATLEAST 3 MINUTES of His/Her VIDEO, then LIKE, SHARE, SUBSCRIBE, and TAP NOTIFICATION BELL, and of course, let's also leave a COMMENT. 4. We keep watching a video, even with a poor intro, when there is simplicity, value added, tactful execution of opinion or negative stance that is based in reality and logic, teachers who actually teach, information talked about has specifics (measurements for a recipe)
Basically, ask yourself "when? where? why? what? and how?

A Strong into gets me everytime and being consistent is very key. If you don't feel like you can't be consistent then create your videos in batches and put them out while you have time to work on new ideas.

I think creating videos in batches is a great idea. I've done that on a small scale, once, where I filmed 2 videos in one go. I think another key thing, and it definitely goes in line with energy, is to film when you're in a good mood. I've definitely skipped out on filming when I knew that my mood was low, so to speak, and that would certainly translate on screen. So if you've had a bad day? Maybe wait till the next day to film when things are fresh, and you have a better outlook on what you want to accomplish.
We filmed for 3 months, then edited in order of shooting...check it out at ximre! Each video intertwines with other segments!
