I’ve had a massive decrease in views since January 2023 and never recovered. UA-cam totally stopped recommending all my videos since that day
I mostly post shorts and my newest short only appears on the shorts platform 6 times in 6 hrs. Idk whats happening

Same but sometimes I change my tags to increase some.
I've just been setting stuff to private and focusing on building my presence on other platforms. Pivoting away when you find you're not wanted can be a surprisingly powerful move.
I like this method, for me personally if i see bad ctr in few hrs of upload i know a video will do bad. So i change things up right after few hours of failure. Great video🔥

This is 100% true. I posted a video several days ago and it barely got any views at all compared to my other videos, and yet the quality of the video itself was way better then anything I had ever done. Well the other day I changed up the thumbnail to see if that would help and several hours later.....still nothing. Then I wake up the next day and BOOM it is rapidly increasing in views! So yes, if the video is actually good but didn't do well try changing the title and thumbnail.
in those 8 minutes he basically told me to just change the title and thumbnail, and if it's not getting impressions, just have an end screen link to the video to get it back into the algorithm. your welcome.

I feel like the thumbnail should be him making a thinking and enthusiastic face with a red/purple gradient and white glowing background and a subscriber count analytic going through the roof

The end screen tip is a major key to reviving a previous video. I have a video from last month that had about 1K views until I released my next video this month. The newest video has almost 23K views now and from putting the older video in my end screens, the views have boosted to almost 4K views! Change the thumbnail if you need to, but if you link that video on a future banger video, it will start to get more views.
This may be a silly question, but I am new to the tips and tricks of UA-cam. When reviving an old video, do you change the thumbnail and title and re-release it, or do you just edit the old one and save the new changes? Thanks 😀
@@treatdizzinessathome2023 you just change the thumbnail in your UA-cam studio. Scroll down to the thumbnail section it'll say change or download and just select download and you can just upload a new thumbnail. Then just click the save button and you're done.
I’m truly grateful for all the advice from this channel, I posted a video a month ago but it had less than 50 views in a week but now it has over 2,500 views and it is the most viewed video on my channel. Now i have 224 subscribers thanks to this video 😊

Great info, I would add - if this video is also getting search volume and all has failed, simply look for the number 1 phrase that people are searching to find the video and edit the title to match that at the start of the title. This can really help if you are more of a search channel.
I love the cat. You have to show him/her more Dan. I watched the video you talked in this one and I liked it. I had the brilliant idea to change the font I was using in the 3 words of the thumbnail of my most viewed video a year ago, my views dropped. I noticed a few days later (I don't like to watch analytics everyday it gets me stressed), I changed again the thumbnail and used the old one. Almost no views. I tried to change the title and it's the same. So advice to everyone: if it works don't change it. Thanks for the video.

Great video! And yes I have already seen this phenomenon on my channel. Thumbnails and titles are very important. I did a re-branding a while ago and I'm thinking about making a new one soon. When I started my channel (different from this one) First few 4-5 days I got decent views on my shorts even one of them reached 55k views and other 9k but after that it's been 10 days I am getting like 2-3 views on every short and UA-cam is not showing it in feeds !! What should I do ? Do I need to create another channel and shut down that old one with almost 190 subs and 65k views on total ?

Great content guys. I recently fell into a niche and have been seeing some progress. With this progress I’m running an experiment on an old video that plateaued at 493 views. I changed the title and thumbnail to see if it moved at all. A week has passed and no movement. I will add it to the end screen and see what happens. Will come back in a week and reply with results.

What do you do for a video to get more impressions in the first place? whats if its low amount mostly everytime? i have 5-6% ctr on most of my longforms but it doesnt seem to get many impressions overall
We have 461K subs due to an insanely viral video we made many years ago received 200 million+ views, but never took UA-cam serious. Now our channel is dead and we're trying to revive it! Thanks for the great info!

The new title and thumbnail was exactly why I didn't click on it - I had no clue what would I get had I done so. However, I'm probably not the target population of that video :)

I have a question, ive been doing youtube for a year now, it takes me hours to make videoes with editing, thumbnail, Recording, etc. But like, how could i get more impressions and How could I Approach viewers better, i know u need to engage them in the first few second, everything works, but i have a very low amount of impressions even if i try my best, how could i get more?
I know a lot of people are saying the same sort of stuff, but I’m gonna add my 2 cents😁.
Now keeping in mind my channel is small, where I’ve been averaging 300-500 views per video. I did this for the last two videos on my channel at it totally worked.
I changed the thumbnails and title on both, as I notice the videos were still getting impressions. It took a day or two but BOOM! The first video went over 1K views (which is big for my channel) and the second video is making the same slow climb.
Anyway, if you read this, keep working hard! You won’t fail, if you don’t give up. Cheers👊!
Im still grinding and trying to figure out my key to success, I still enjoy making content and mixing it up but struggling to capture my target audience. I changed the thumbnail on a video I had that was stagnant and stuck at 10/10. In one day it's now 7/10
Did you reupload the video with the changes or did you just change the thumbnail and title? I have a similar problem with my last video. I changed the thumbnail and title and i have been getting a consistent 8.1% click through rate but low impressions. Just wondering if i should just reupload the video with the updated changes ot wait it out.
It works for shorts too. Just changing the title one of mine led to 7 times more views!
I just brought a 2 year old video that had 600 views to over 8k in just a week w yt shorts. Its not just as simple as adding a related video to a short. That is just 1 step of my process... Edited btw just cracked 200k this morning
Question - is there a maximum amount of time since posting a video that this works/helps? ie, applying these changes to a 1-week old video vs. a 3-6 month old video?

Love the explanation of how you came up with the titles and thumbnail etcetera. However, the rest of this is useless to small channels unfortunately... For a small channel if a video gets no impressions or clicks the first day it will probably flatline, changing the thumbnail or title later will do absolutely nothing, not even if you find ways to promote that video (trust me, I tried).
Yep once it flat lines it's very hard to get a video back on track. I have tested one of my videos, it's a Mortal Kombat tutorial, I must have changed the tumbnail 10 times lol its just a dead video. There is nothing to do that will revive that video I just have to let it dies in the youtube abyss.
@lajeandom unfortunately that's the way youtube works these days, and which Vidiq just doesn't get...
You can (hypothetically) have the most perfect video the entire world would want to watch, if the youtube algorithm somehow gave up on it and you're a small channel you can just as well throw it away (though I wouldn't bc there's also no harm in keeping it and it might still get some views through search and all).
This right here. The harsh reality these UA-cam advice channels try so hard to just sweep under the rug, but it still towers in the faces of small channels no matter how they try to look around it.

So yesterday I did upload a vlog 😅 results? You guessed it right 10/10 🤥 I was just frustrated.
Ideally when I do new a vlog, I usually get between 1/10 - 3/10 but this one just fell flat on its belly!
- The hook could be more specific about the problem it's addressing. Instead of just saying "videos that do not perform well", it could mention specific metrics like low views, low watch time, or low engagement.
- The hook could be more concise. It takes about 12 seconds to get to the point where it promises a solution. Shortening the intro could make it more attention-grabbing.
- The hook could use more emotional language to connect with the audience. For example, instead of saying "it takes your Creative Energy and it crushes it in an instant", it could say "it feels like a punch in the gut that drains your creative energy and motivation".
- The hook could use more vivid imagery to paint a picture in the audience's mind. For example, instead of saying "have the dreaded 10 out of 10 rating stare you back in the face", it could say "see the red thumbs-down icon mocking you from the screen".
Overall, the hook is good but it could be improved by being more specific, concise, emotional, and vivid. As a UA-cam creator, you can use these tips to create attention-grabbing hooks for your own videos.

Really struggling with CTR, lower than 1% usually. Using low word count, clear images, fairly short titles and complementary colours but just don't seem to be getting good results the majority of the time

Changing titles and thumbnails does wonders as well. Turned my 10/10 vid into a 1 and with the vids i uploaded after that its still beating them

I will say, those end screens help jump old videos pretty well... End screens are definitely important to help boost, even if you only manage to get a few views from it, it is more than what you would get from not having an end screen at all. But that is my 2 cents. 👍
It's funny how everywhere else a 10/10 is phenomenal and a 1/10 is a failure, but on UA-cam, it's the exact opposite.

I have a new theory and it is that UA-cam now has filters for small channels. I have done tests on other channels with different content and number of subscribers and it is the same, Short and videos dont grow, and these channels have videos with a guarantee of virality, but they dont grow because they are "small channels" and that is now a limitation. If you are small you have a maximum of views, but UA-cam will never recognize this publicly.
