It's really frustrating that UA-cam favors people who upload very frequently. Basically saying yeah sure just pump out a bunch of crap content instead of taking your time to masterfully craft each video.
Luckily, It’s only part of the algorithm they use :) it rewards people who stick with it and helps filter out people who post two to six videos and disappear. Other parts of the algorithm involve watch time, likes vs dislikes, subscriber count and tags :)

I'd never ring the bell even for my fave UA-camrs because I hate push notifications in general. What is most helpful to me is a regular UA-camr who stays on schedule so I know when to go look for them on my own accord.

Great tips ! The niche thing drives me crazy though because I love doing my storylines but my beauty videos get the most popularity. Guess I need to stick with what does well?
You can have a dual niche video channel if they coordinate well. Beauty, fitness and/or lifestyle go well together, toy videos and fashion tips maybe not so much. In any channel, certain videos will be more popular. If you find one video is getting ten times the views, look at what you did differently in that video. If you do choose to pick the one that is more popular, you can start a second channel and cross promote as well.

I'm right there with you. I think my biggest hurdle currently is consistency. Over the last year my life has gone up and down so much, my content has not been consistent and I'm sure it's hurting my views, subscribers, etc.
Anyone that subsribes to my channel and likes any video... I will subsribe back... I am super supportive xx my wifi isn't too good... will sub back even if it's after an hour or two lol xx
Being a new video is only part of ranking in searches, make sure to use tags, specific titles (“hatchimals unboxing” as opposed to “toy video!”, translations,description boxes.... all of these give the search engine more words to match with what is being searched. Consistently uploading is another factor. Don’t forget you need an interesting thumbnail to make people want to click :)
Life with the Arellano’s I do this as well and what it really comes down to is finding time out of work and making it your “youtube time”. Does that make sense? I think I’ll make a vlog about this...
I have diligently been working to get my watch time back up from doing ads the wrong way. It is now back to four minutes and sometimes I hit 50% referral. But still not there yet. I was sooooo discouraged this past week. I just learned how about you can create a remarketing list from youtube and I am going to try and use that.
My last video recently got picked up by the algorithm and suddenly I've gotten 100k+ views from the Homepage. The video previously had 10k or so views and was already my most viewed video.

I have diligently been working to get my watch time back up from doing ads the wrong way. It is now back to four minutes and sometimes I hit 50% referral. But still not there yet. I was sooooo discouraged this past week. I just learned how about you can create a remarketing list from youtube and I am going to try and use that.
