I had hand food mouth a couple years ago, when I was like 22-23 years old. Worst 2 weeks of my life! High fever, sores in my mouth, I couldn't even eat or hardly drink anything. I lost like 10 pounds. And that magic mouth wash did not work for me. I hope your babies feel better soon, I can't imagine my little babies getting that stuff! It is seriously the worst sickness ever! Love your channel 💙 Get better Brooks and Gaines!
Those sweet babies! I hope they feel so much better soon! My Ben had HFM and an ear infection not long ago. Longest week of our lives! Praying for them and Momma & Daddy! Love sent!
Broke my heart when Gaines said he throat hurt so bad. She is such a precious girl. So glad Brooks is feeling better. Sending get well wishes to you all.
HFM is the worst! Unfortunately, you can get over and over again! I had it when my son had it and I was miserable! It felt like some one was tattooing my throat! I hate that these littles have to go through it. Be sure to sanitize everything lol! We threw out all my sons pacifiers and got him new ones! I was so afraid it was going to come back! I sure hope your babies feel better soon! To answer your question about bedtime... We put both of our boys to bed together!
Me and my partner normally share taking the kiddos to bed, however since i started back at work nearly 2 years ago,(I work nights) my partner has done it the most.... Hoping Gaines and Brooks feel better soon!!!
My 7 month old nephew had a rash all over his hands, feet, and mouth and was super cranky about a month ago. His doctor said it was just a viral infection, but I'm positive it was hand, foot, and mouth (which is viral). My poor sister in law contracted it from him, so they were both miserable at the same time. My brother agreed after he Googled images of what it looks like. They are both ok now.
Oh how I remember the days of our daughter and son being that sick at the same time and trying to stay on top of it all....God bless you both! Pray they're well SOON! As for routines on bedtime-my husband and I each did a child and then switched kids the next night and back n forth that way...we always wanted to make sure our babies had memories of us both doing everything with them..they're 22 months apart and I truly believe they benefited from us doing that bc both of them are WONDERFUL PARENTS and have continued our way with their own babies..our 7 beautiful g babies! :) Love your family and will keep you close in prayer! 💛💛
I have 3 kids. I usually put the 7 month old to bed. And we both put the 2 and 3 year olds to bed. I'll spend one on one time with our son and he will spend one on one time with our daughter, then we switch. It's the best of both worlds and the kids get special time with both of us :)
My youngest (3) I usually put to bed, about once a week her dad will. Her routine is pretty simple - we brush her teeth, go potty, read one short story then tuck her in and give her a good night hug & kiss. She is very much a routine person - and gets very upset like Gaines if you don't do everything in the same order every night. Her routine used to be much longer but we had to adapt it for my sanity. It was to the point that she was adding new "to do's" to the routine every couple of days and it was getting out of hand. It was a little rough getting her used to it but now it's no problem, And she goes to sleep much quicker and stays asleep. My other three are older (10,13,13) and I just tell them to go to bed and they do. But when they were younger it was the same routine as my youngest now. Hope Gaines & Brooks feel better soon!
Isn't it amazing how much faith and trust we have in our pediatricians? And they always know what's best for your kid. I hate going to see someone new who has no idea what I'm talking about. I know my kid I know she's not right, fix her!
Hannah Schaffer no but generally speaking if that doctor has been working with you and your child for awhile they have a pretty damn good clue about what is best for your kid.
My almost 3 year old just had this two weeks ago. We're right outside of Birmingham and we heard there was an outbreak in preschools around here. His fever got up to 103 the first night and then the next day the bumps started. It was horrible for him. The rash started healing up after about 4 days (scabbing over) and two weeks later are still healing and now his hands and feet are peeling really bad. His feet bothered him at night and aveeno oatmeal bath helped so much! My doctor said it's harder for them to catch it again after having it but it is possible. Praying for speedy recoveries!
Bless Their Hearts 💙💜 My best friends kiddos had hand foot mouth ickiness. Warm oatmeal with lavender baths sooths the inflammation with the sores. We alternate nights than on the weekend have story time in our bed over in our home. Both of my boys are on the Autism Spectrum routine is key. 💙💙 Roll Tide
I knew it was hand foot and mouth that first doctor you seen for Brooks needs to go back to school for saying it wasn't hand foot and mouth smh. Make sure you tell there teacher they have this so they can deep clean to make sure the others don't get it. Make sure you wash all the binkies and cups and disinfect all the surfaces you can to stop the spread of the virus!!!! Hope they feel better soon
Eek that pod flower in your vase make it go away peas 😩*shiver* I love routines. Haha I had an old fashion bedspread that was possessed I swear! If if someone pulled it over me I would wake out tied in it once it was wrapped around my whole body and neck also I had a poodle lamp that I swear to this day when the lights went out it the eyes turned red!
My 2 daughters had HFM last Spring and came down with it about 10 hours apart. My oldest had a bad case (rash all over her mouth, throat, legs, etc) and my youngest had a very mild case. Hubs and I never got it so fingers crossed you guys stay well! I definitely didn't want ANY part of it! I put the girls to bed...every single night. They won't let any one else do it if I'm there.
Hope Brooks and Gaines feel better soon. It's hard especially for Brooks who can't really verbalize what he is feeling. Poor baby. Gaines on the other hand is so adorable. She is super smart and her vocabulary is amazing for an almost 3 year old.
My husband got HF&M when our 2 yr old was two or three weeks old and a preemie on top of that, bless his heart it was the worst for him. I still needed his help so he bought gloves so he wouldn't touch our girls and I sprayed Lysol like it was going out of style. I do know that you can get HF&M more than one time and that you don't know it's HF&M until the bumps show up. It's very contagious!
Poor little ones! 😢😢😭😭💔💔 I hope they will get better and well so so soon! 🙌🏻🙌🏻😊😘😍❤️ May God Bless You All! 🙌🏻❤️❤️ Brooks's smile ! 😍😍 May God Bless Him and Bless His Sister! 🙌🏻💖💖 And Gaines is sweet when she hugged her brother at Doctor's room and made him laugh in the stroller! 🙌🏻😘😘💙💙❤️❤️ And Brooks sure does love his sister. 👏🏻👌🏻👍🏻😍❤️💙❤️
My husband and I both put our twin boys to bed as often as possible, which is almost every night. We pray over our children and pray together as a family. I remember the days of multiple steps to the bed time routine. It gets easier as they get older, I promise ;)
Daddy puts the littles to bed. I work afternoons, but even when Im off he does it now. It splits up the work since I do the mornings and daytime alone. Different strokes for different folks. :)
I had this when i was pregnant and it was horrible! Poor babies they are too little😢💜 i have 4 kids and my husband and i both work together to put the kids to bed☺
Our night time routine is just mommy putting both boys to bed. I have always done it and I know how they like things done so mommy always does it. Plus my husband is firefighter so he is not always at home to help with the routine. Hope to run into you guys at the Alabama Game Saturday!!! Can't wait for it!! RTR LOVE YOU GUYS!!
I'm 21 had the same thing last week! We went to the hospital because I had some sunstroke from too much time out on the lake, and I also told them I had a bit of a sore throats as well. They all guessed it was the start of strep throat, I went home and a few days later I got these spots on my palms and soles, and sores in my mouth. From reading all the comments from your video from yesterday got me to look up HF&M symptoms and that's exactly what I had! So it's definitely going around, even in adults. So be careful, Cullen and Katie! Hope you guys don't get it too. Hope the kiddies feel better, this one is no fun.
Hi Cullen and Katie, Wanted to let you know that Bonnie and Joel may be able to help you with THE HAND< FOOT< MOUTH virus. One of there children had the same thing. Might help you to talk to them. Babies are always protected. Love your family. ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
My two daughters got it and I thank you for sharing this, they have the 71 type so we are super concerned because we live in China(I’m spanish and wife is Chinese) so in here you never get a standard answer and the first treatment wasn’t even right at the first hospital so our youngest 1 year old got worse till she got the right cream for the blisters.
That doctor is soo nice! I remember when he got the glass out of Madeline's foot. You guys should become friends with him so we can see him in the vlogs more often!
Also when my daughter was itchy from the spots I mixed baking soda and water together and rubbed it on her spots, that was the best for her itching! I bought a bunch of random cremes that I thought would help but baking soda paste worked the best!
Poor babes!!! I hope they both feel better soon. Are you able to nurse Brooks having that or is he doing nursing??? You haven't mentioned that lately so I wasn't sure. I also generally put my 4 boys to sleep. Just depends how the night is going.
Glad you got to see your regular doctor and he got everything sorted! And Gaines is such a good little patient (I think that's the right use of the word)! When I was her age I hated the doctor. lol
I had hand foot mouth disease when i was about 2 yrs old. My mom said i was miserable but at least i don't remember it. That's the good thing about sicknesses etc when childs are young that they forget about it ever happening.
Welcome to pre school!!!kids get everything!!I taught pre school and I got so sick I was in the hsp..my immune system was bad then ..someone sleazed on me and I got sick..Oh man!! I just wanna hug Gaines her lil face is so sweet but so sad to see her sick..she looks like she's in pain..and lil man too..
It's interesting to see night routines since I never grew with having a night routine. for us when it's time to sleep, you go to bed, say your prayers and remain closing your eyes and the next thing you know it's already morning xD
Not sure if anyone else commented this but if y'all haven't tried the kids outshine fruit popsicles I highly recommend them. They have fruit and veggies in them and they can't even tell. They are so good!
My 2 year old daughter caught the HF&M twice in 3 months and even 1 caught it from her the first time a week after her. Very strange sickness, it's very contagious and it stays the stools for several several weeks... My hand and feet felt like they had needle in them and they burned constantly but my daughter didn't seem to be bother by hers. The second time she got it seemed less intense but her mouth had so many big sore she couldn't eat anything, she drank milk for three days... She bounced back pretty quickly compared to me. Hope your kiddos get better soon; i know they will !
my husband and I both put all 3 kiddos to bed together. First we do our son (5yrs), then we put the girls (4 yrs,7yrs) to bed. Then everyone gets hugs and kisses and its smooth sailing!
We got three new foster children in May. At first, we were doing bedtime for the 5yo and 8yo girls at the same time (12 yo boy is pretty independent.) It became competition time for them! They talked over each other during the story..they have bunkbeds, so I couldn't sing to one w/o the other trying to interrupt or get my attention. So over the summer, we implemented separate bedtimes for them. It has worked SO WELL!!! They get individual attention and their routines are so different, but best for each of them! After both alternate brushing teeth and change to PJs, 5yo gets a story on her bed...snuggles, a song, prayer, and lots of hugs and kisses...I turn on every night light we own (about 4), leave the door open with light in the hallway. My husband then comes in to kiss her goodnight while I start the routine with the 8yo. Sometimes, one of the dogs will stay with her. 8yo and I sit in the living room and she gets a chapter read from a novel. We just finished Anne of Green Gables (she loved it!), I sing to her, we talk about "stuff"...usually a question she has. We walk into her bedroom, and 5yo is usually asleep by then. She climbs up to top bunk, I turn off all the "non-night lights", I kiss her goodnight, and she always asks that I check on her and wake her up. (that has a lot to do with the fact that they've been in foster care, so knowing what to expect is important.) Then we sit with the 12 yo and watch an episode of something (right now it's Arrow on Netflix), and he goes to bed. We have the routine down to about an hour! It works so well for them and us!
Oh my gosh, I started cracking up when Cullen said "his little stumpy body" lol Brooks and Gaines are so adorable and basically twins! Also i wanted to mention that my family uses cough drop lollipops when children in our home are sick. I am Mexican so idk if they only sell them in Mexican markets lol but you can make them as well, get regular cough drops melt them down, put them in lollipop molds with the stick put them in the freezer for a bit and tada! It will help soothe their sore throat and are pretty yummy if you use the honey cough drops 😊
Katie, are you still nursing? Cuz I got a severe case of it from my daughter while nursing and had to take steriods. Take care of yourselves! The kids will get over it pretty quick, thankfully!
Oh my Lanta!!! I'm so glad our night time routine isn't the only one that's so detailed and long! My daughter is the same exact way about bed time! Paige is 4 and an only child. Daddy and I put her to bed together. Bath, brush teeth (in her bath), pj's, 3 books, kiss mommy, daddy puts her in her bed and has a short talk (they each day their 2 favorite parts of the day) hugs and kisses then its mommy's turn. We tell each other our 2 favorite parts of the day then I apply our essential oils, then we look at the pictures on my phone from the day, then we check the weather to see if a storm is coming, then hugs and kisses, then I lay her down and we sing "you are my sunshine" four times, we situate her 3 stuffed animals, I tuck her in, go get her 4 pieces of crushed ice, I get my pj's, kiss her again then tell her good night, sweet dreams, see you in the morning, tell daddy good night again after I get in the shower (she listens and waits for the water to come on!!!), good night, I love you. Shew! It's crazy!
Hope your little ones feel better soon. It's many years ago now, my girls are adults. It was bath or showers, then pjs. Go in the living room for hugs and kisses from dad. Both kids in one bed for story time, only one story. Everyone gets hugs. And kisses from mom, then everyone in their own bed for sleep. Strict during school time but more relaxed in the summer with sleeping bags in the living room and fiends over.
I almost cried when Gaines started getting so upset by the stairs right before bed. Bless her heart! More Cooking with Katie Pie, please!
Aww poor babies! Our little guy had it last year and it wasnt fun! Praying for a fast recovery!
Make sure you boil pacis and cups that the kids use so the don't continue to get it
Tripp&Lowry and disinfect every toy
Poor babies. Hope they get better quick. 💞

Gaines is so articulate when she does things! She is adorable and such a lovey with Brooks❤️
When I was a child, the night time routine was "GET TO BED" lol
HFM is the worst! Unfortunately, you can get over and over again! I had it when my son had it and I was miserable! It felt like some one was tattooing my throat! I work at a hospital Pharmacy and we make the magic mouthwash daily. It seems to work well. Prayers for a speedy recovery. Bless their hearts!
Poor sweet babies. That mess is so bad. I sure hope they get better soon. I just love watching your videos. You have a precious, precious family.
Gaines did so well at the doctors office! Hope they get over the HF&M fast! Those are the best doctors orders! Ice cream and popscicles! 💕

The way Katie talks with kids is so nice .she's doing such a great job.
Me and my partner normally share taking the kiddos to bed, however since i started back at work nearly 2 years ago,(I work nights) my partner has done it the most.... Hoping Gaines and Brooks feel better soon!!!
Yep, welcome to pre school. If it's a germ it will be there. Poor babies. 😢
Hand food and mouth is the absolute worst! My son had it last year and I felt so bad for him. Hoping for a quick recovery for your two little ones!
MyLittleFamily I've watched your videos since Hendrix was born! Love you
My 7 month old nephew had a rash all over his hands, feet, and mouth and was super cranky about a month ago. His doctor said it was just a viral infection, but I'm positive it was hand, foot, and mouth (which is viral). My poor sister in law contracted it from him, so they were both miserable at the same time. My brother agreed after he Googled images of what it looks like. They are both ok now.
I love being right.....hand foot and mouth is painful, bless their little hearts!!! Praying for your family!
Lots of prayers for Gaines and Brooks. Get better soon😷🤒love you guys😍
Bless their hearts! Praying for Gaines and Brooks!
First time ive viewed your vlog BEFORE jktoday. God bless you both and the kids, still praying for great recovery for those sweet babies!💖

My oldest two hand HF&M at the same time too! We were stuck at home for almost 2 weeks!! Poor babies. This one is awful :(
Andddd everyone at preschool probably has it too 😞
Ughh... it seriously is the worst.. You are right too, it spreads so fast and the whole school will get it :(
AND WE DANCE. It spreads SO fast. It's worse than any other sickness my kids have ever had. They're in so much pain. It breaks my heart!
I little had HF&M like a year ago and I'm 12
The same thing happened with our 3 one time. It was terrible! We were stuck at home for over 2 weeks! Praying for y'all... God bless!
I have 3 kids. I usually put the 7 month old to bed. And we both put the 2 and 3 year olds to bed. I'll spend one on one time with our son and he will spend one on one time with our daughter, then we switch. It's the best of both worlds and the kids get special time with both of us :)
That is a true loving family but it does not have to do any thing with the video sorry
I pray the kids get better soon and I pray you and Cullen stay healthy through it all. love you hugs
My youngest (3) I usually put to bed, about once a week her dad will. Oh bless their hearts, feel better Gaines and Brooks!! ❤️
Oh my goodness. Prayers to you all! Those poor poor babies. I'm so sorry. I hope they heal quickly. Love to you!

Kaylee Conti they don't ALWAYS know what is best.
Hannah Schaffer no but generally speaking if that doctor has been working with you and your child for awhile they have a pretty damn good clue about what is best for your kid.
Any decision that my doctor recommends for my daughter I generally agree with because he has seen her since day 1.
Kaylee Conti I don't agree with that but k
I am probably going to switch and see a naturopath instead
Please call the school and tell them that they both had HFM so they can tell the parents.
Kelley Jeavons yeah they will usually spread flyers around the school so people know that disease is going around
Kelley Jeavons good idea . Although, I'm sure they're not the first ones there to have it.
Both my kids had that. It's no fun, but SUCH a relief once you have an explanation for the fever and the rash.
Poor kiddos! Hope they both feel better really soon!
Bedtime routine, was shared equally between us. Every other night was my job, and alternating nights my hubby did it. Worked out great.
Oh no poor babies!!! I hope they get better soon 💖💙
Katie have you ever tried shredding your chicken with a hand mixer? It works amazing and takes seconds
My almost 3 year old just had this two weeks ago. We're right outside of Birmingham and we heard there was an outbreak in preschools around here. Yes call their schools because usually when one kid gets it they scrub all the toys and deep clean the classrooms

Exactly. It was pretty clear that it was hand foot and mouth! I was really hoping it wasn't though.

Hoping they get better!!! My husband had HF&M a few years ago, said it was way worse than having strep throat and tonselitis!
Poor kiddos!! I would recommend staying home this weekend. Traveling while sick is no fun!!
I use that same mouthwash for constant canker sores, and it works miracles!

Gaines you are such a brave little girl. I hated getting my throat swabbed. I hope you and your brother get better😊❤️.
oh my gosh, MG did so well with her strep throat test!!! I was so amazed! what a big girl! I hope they both feel better soon!

Dang! Gaines is a PRO with that throat swab! I am impressed with how she just let them do it! Good job baby girl! I can't do that good as an adult! 😝
I had this when i was pregnant and it was horrible! Poor babies they are too little😢💜 i have 4 kids and my husband and i both work together to put the kids to bed☺

Glad that fever went down. I had a seizure when I was little, due to a high fever. Glad the kiddos will now be on the mend !
Awww poor kids . Feel better soon Brooks & Gaines. Prayers 🙏🏻💙🙏🏻❤️
Love the vlog I hope they feel better soon I have been praying for them both

Magic mouthwash is awesome. I had it during chemotherapy treatment. Though I was required to swallow it so it would help my throat.
You guys are the cutest little family. ❤️
Awww...I teared up watching poor Gaines with her pouty lip! Hope both feel better quick!
Omg I couldn't even imagine MG'S hair thicker she would look even more beautiful

Love you guys. Hope your little ones get better soon.
Praying for Gaines and Brooks for fast healing.
Hope the kids feel better soon and nobody else gets sick.
(that has a lot to do with the fact that they've been in foster care, so knowing what to expect is important.)
Then we sit with the 12 yo and watch an episode of something (right now it's Arrow on Netflix), and he goes to bed.
I love Gaines' bedtime routine 😂💓 I hope both of the kids feel better soon!
