    I'm glad I found this. I've never heard that term "self concept" before. I always never quite understood what self esteem was until it was explained like this.

    Wow, this notion of self-concept and self-esteem is so powerful. I always saw myself as a disciplined and organized person and somehow I also associated these traits with all the success in my life. Now, no matter what I achieve, my achievements don't make me feel successful when I am not organized or disciplined.
    I watched this video twice to understand my current sense of self and self-concept and what shift needs to be there in my awareness.

    Replay🙏 I have signed up for a recent pre-training on the self-concept model and got a few texts coming in on my mobile and tried to reply but it wouldn’t send out several times so I’m not sure how to go about this because I didn’t get anything in an email either🙏

      I’m unsure if it is low or healthy. When I say this I refer to how I acknowledge I’m not fully satisfied so I must do more, and that I’m capable. I understand that I do not understand or know everything, so I must go through others whom so graciously do if I genuinely ask them for their guidance and help. I’m justified for my curiosity, and sad at the thought of lacking a stronger purpose given how much I feel it’s tied to a need for validation that goes beyond myself at this point. I acknowledge I don’t fully love or respect myself but because of this I have been rebuilding myself and changing who I actually am to what I know I’m capable of. With this, I want to learn to love myself more but to increasingly inspire and strongly influence everyone I contact with a feeling of inner empowerment too. I’m a strange one, a people person who doesn’t feel proud of how I’ve lived and I’m upset with how this world is. So, I take up arms with my greatest gift I’ve got, my mind and belief for more. If I myself am not worthy than my objective I am to follow and dreams surely are, as I will not fail the people I do dearly care for if I cannot love myself to the extent I need to. Then again though, I’m still a newbie to self improvement and getting better with self care everyday. Sir, I hope you could point me in a few directions on the future if you’re willing. Thank you so much for what you’re doing as well as I’m all about progressive mindsets and humanity learning to master itself and love itself to truly accomplish so much more. I wish to be an instrument of great change that’s inescapable and blooming before me and others like you, and I hope to learn more from you and many more!

    I have been reading the book Transforming Your Self by Steve Andreas. The thing that strikes me is how fluid the members of seminar audience referenced in the book are able to have such rich and vivid representational examples of their qualities. My experience with the people I encounter in my world and myself, we don't have the strong images, feelings, and auditory renditions of our database elements as the seminar participants represented in the book seem to have, let alone the manipulation they have of the aspects of their examples with the facility that they do. Am I missing something here? Incidentally I do agree with you that the Self-Concept is very powerful. I am autistic and have been able to find a modest facility with attaining the "other" perceptual position now, emotion and all. I also found, concerning the quality of gratefulness, that I was not demonstrating my appreciation fully to those people that were kind to me in a way that they could understand.

    Hey Damon, can we use the self concept to fix core wounds such as ' i am unimportant' , we then look for expeerinces where we felt important? I always thought of the model as just adding traits instead of fixing wounds? Am I right in that? Thanks for everything

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  2 роки тому +1

      Yes you can indeed heal yourself with this model.
      Self-importance is a trap regardless if you feel unimportant or important. You feel unimportant because you don't believe you are the qualities that you value. Start doing values elicitations and then cross reference them to qualities of who you are. Are you those qualities in a certain and solid way? Answer honestly. Once you're able to see what are the qualities you value most that you don't believe you are, use the Self-Concept Model to transform into them. Self-worth and self-important issues will burn out. The idea of being important or unimportant won't make sense to you anymore and that will be a wonderful moment for you.

    Hi sir I would like to ask that how does Self-Concept influence Self-esteem, academic ability, motivation and interaction with peers? Thank you 🙏

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  3 роки тому

      That's a big question that requires a big explanation but I'll try to give some useful short answers.
      Self-Concept is the generalization you make about who you are. It's a generalization because you couldn't possibly know everything there is to know about yourself so you generalize based on what you do know and what you tend to focus on. How you feel about that generalization is how you feel about yourself. If you like that generalization, you will have high self-esteem. If not, you will have low self-esteem.
      Academic ability is most likely linked to your self-concept by how capable you believe you are. If you believe you are not very capable, you won't try things. You'll accomplish less and succeed less because you don't believe you're capable. If you believe you are highly capable, you will do more, try harder, take more risks, and as a result you will succeed more and accomplish more etc. The same goes for interacting with peers are anything else.

    nice.. what is the the way of changing conspts/self belifes? reframing, working on the emotional drivers off belifes (like 3d mind) or somthing else?

      @@DamonCart humm.. :) well the jest of my question is: What is the method of change in your method and what are you changing with it? I ask as I am qurius and i am trying to find out if the method/process is new to me or a version of something I alreaddy know :)
      I know and worked with the clasic NLP stoc change methods like reframing or methods like fobia cure, but also an of shoot method caled 3d mind from essential skills that is also mutch centerd on selfbelifes/shcema like i understod youres to be. Simplyfyde that method is done by finding the hindering belefes and the emotional content/drivers inside of it and by changing the emotions in them, (done with balencing them with drivers from posetive belifse) you change the belife/reality.
