    I had this experience when the "Break Dance" craze hit us and could not do any of the moves. Because of being ridiculed and laughed at I stopped dancing completely and avoided clubs and house parties. I absolutely love the metaphor of the Japanese soldiers. Now I need to go find my general. Thank you for sharing. 💖

    Damon, I am truly enjoying learning from you. Listening to this lecture reminds me very much of IFS parts therapy- we all have parts to us, none are bad. Our "managers" try to prevent our "exiles" (painful experiences and feelings) from coming out. They are trying to protect us and we need to thank them before asking them to step back. Keep up the amazing work!

    Thank you for making this video Damon 🙂 You are one of my favourite NLP people to listen to and you're extremely knowledgeable and your videos are very entertaining. I will have to do some parts integration with myself but this video really refreshed my understanding/memory of the concept.
    If I may say so I am really interested/excited to watch your newer videos as well as your videos on Steve Andrea's self-concept model (as well as your interviews with him). Your praise of the self-concept model definitely has me intrigued.
    Again thank you for making these videos and I wish you lots of further success. Greetings from Western Australia!

    Very therapeutic, I found a part who was rebellious. Turns out she was rebelling against her parents. (As you may or may not remember I had rageaholic, abusive parents). I tapped on what she is feeling, releasing the blocks. The process came out great, SUD is down to 2. Thank you, I have often said to anyone and everyone online, you are one of the top NLP people I know. I will give the top spot to John Grinder, I well never go near Bandler.

    Hi Damon, thanks so much for this explanation!! I have a client who’s currently struggling with moving out from her childhood home so I plan to use this technique with her as there’s a part of her who wants to leave and a part of her who doesn’t want to leave. Once I’ve integrated the parts - is the goal to help her strategize a path forward that will satisfy her highest intentions?

    "Don't get angry at me" haha Love it. Thx for explaining HOW it works as well as step by step in the other video. Really helps it sink in when I understand why the steps are as they are and what is actually going on.
    Also, This was so well explained and it actually moved me emotionally just hearing the way you explained the story about the soldiers (which I had heard mentioned in past).. but hearing it applied it to parts or conflict integration really painted the picture for me.. and the part about thanking the part about what it's done for us as it was just following orders from us.m Profound.
    I'm so excited to help others with this and also notice it within myself as needed and make the shift because I now understand this far more than before.
    Thank you!

    Hi Damon, naci video! After this video, one question keeps spinning in my head ... Can I look at each of my negative reactions as an inner part? Do all our internal blockages stem from autonomous inner parts?

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  3 роки тому +5

      All behavior, regardless of whether it's positive or negative, is an attempt to fulfill a value or set of values. When we behave in away that we don't like but can't stop, it's usually an isolated part of you. It's still trying to manifest something positive but because it lacks connection with the rest of you, it appears to your conscious mind as a part of you that's trying to sabotage you.

    Damon - I've just spent the afternoon on a day off watching your video. It is bloody brilliant how you explain this. I am 3/4 way through my Diploma in Master Coaching and you explained this concept to me far more comprehensively - and memorably - than any of the material I've worked through on the topic (lots of webinars). Thank you! Also - the story about Hiroo Onoada blew my mind! Firstly that actually happened - but they you used that as a metaphor. So good! Thanks again. Will be working on the next video you refer to, tonight :)

    can it help with stuttering?

    • @DamonCart
      @DamonCart  Рік тому

      It's possible a divided self could have the symptom of stuttering. All sorts of physical symptoms can arise from mental divisions and pain, but stuttering can also be rooted in other issues that are not mental. Doesn't hurt to give it a try though. There's no harmful side-effects from parts integration, only positive.
