- Santa Fe exceeded all of my expectations! I wish I had more time to explore, but I guess Sherri and I will just have to come back and see more of this wonderful town. The food, the art, the culture, the people... it was all just so wonderful.

I live in Santa Fe for 57 years born and raised here I seen a lot of changes in Santa Fe good and bad Yes it's very beautiful and yes there's a lot of stores in Santa Fe that do not sell made in Santa Fe products a lot of those artists are native Americans they have the right to sell their stuff at the Palace of the governors and a lot of their stuff are actually made at their homes those people are not scammers is mean people think when you see a native at the plaza selling their stuff to make a little money for themselves.
Santa Fe is probably one of the prettiest cities in the state besides Taos, a couple hours north. Fun fact: The capital building in Santa Fe is America’s oldest capital building, dating to 1609/1610 ish. The city is a hub for artists and local restaurants are like gold. If you get red and green chili, it’s called Christmas style. 😅
Just found your page!!!! I’m born and raised in New Mexico!!! So excited you visited Santa Fe!!! Currently watching your discovery princess cruise videos since we will be sailing Discovery this December/January 2025!!!! Let us know if ever come back to New Mexico!!! You’ve got friends here!!!! 😊
Santa Fe has been on my bucket list for a while. This vlog just cemented that
Jordy, it is amazing! You must go!
True locals will tailgate before the Santa Fe Opera. It's a beautiful outdoor venue that overlooks the Jemez Mountains.
I live in Alaska now and dearly miss New Mexican margaritas. They are so delicious. I haven't found a good one outside of that state.
Yum, green chile on anything cheesy is delicious. It's amazing in mac & cheese and enchiladas.
Definitely hike up to Tent Rocks.
I’m from New Mexico! Santa Fe is ok but I love TAOS and all the beautiful places like the Gila, Jemez, etc but go to the loretto chapel in Santa Fe
Yes my two favorites meow wolf and Georgia O’keefe
I’ve been numerous times , it’s one of my favorite places!❤️❤️
Of course you would get red and green chili for your frito pie. Next time just ask for Christmas when your server asked red or green chili.
Yup! Christmas is what I asked for :)
Never heard of Meow Wolf before your video. 1.5 hours and 5 YT videos later, I'm obsessed with visiting one sometime soon. 🤯
Definitely a place you need to take Sherri. It is a beautiful city. So unique!!
Yes! I feel like sherri would LOVE Santa Fe
I was lucky to go several years ago, a group of 3 others friends and I used to go every year until one friend passed away and the other moved to Texas, we always had a blast, we always stopped and ate in Pueblo on our way from Denver. Loved seeing Santa Fe through your eyes. Thanks for sharing!
I love Santa fe too. The Santa fe trail 👣 walk right through Pueblo colorado too. It melted my heart that you are gonna wait to fully experience with your lovely wife. 💞🌶🌻🌶🌻🌶
So glad you enjoyed your time there. I want to thank you for your great Fiji videos. They really helped plan our trip there in October.
You’re so welcome! Glad our Fiji videos were helpful!
Great video! I LOVE Santa Fe and glad you did, too! Maybe I missed it, where did you stay, what hotel?
Thanks for sharing Santa Fe with us!!! My family and I will definitely have to check it out!!! I hope your back gets better soon!!!
Loved my trip to there in 09, first went to Taos north of there to see the pueblos. So much history and arts to see.
Wow what cool city
Glad you had a great time
I 've been once to Santa Fe and I loved it❤ loved going around with you!!
Welcome to the lower 48. Love your Alaska videos. Another video well done.
Living in Las Vegas, I haven’t been to meow wolf yet. You make me want to go.
Love your videos but you are costing me lots of money! We were in Ketchikan this summer and did lots of shopping at Woodlands and then I realized I could order online from them! 😮. Next summer we are traveling Route 66 and Santa Fe is a must do. I am so excited to explore and of course shop that beautiful city.
Took great notes on this one. Thank you!
❤
You’re so welcome! Thanks for watching!
Love your vlogs from your friend in Illinois.
Glad you were able to explore. 😊Yes, it does get hot in NM and pretty cold in the winter. It does snow in NM😅 lol. The lights on top of buildings are called luminarias. They are normally out during Christmas. San Juan College has a big display of luminarias (4000+ lights) in December. People drive or walk through the lights😊.
In Santa Fe we call those lights on the buildings and along sidewalks Faralitos.
Santa Fe is such a uniquely amazing place! Been there once and would like to go again, but I would acclimate to the altitude cuz I was sick the 1st 24 hrs! We went to see the OKeefe Museum, Bandelier National Monument were cliff cave dwellings were made. Also saw the Loretto Chapel with the spiral staircase. Did you stay at a Worldmark resort?! That's where my family stayed in 6 different units! I want to check out some of the galleries!
We have a friend who is an artist that lives in Santa Fe. I wonder if you saw his work there! Love the metal sculptures!
Oooh, how fun! There were SO many galleries that I missed. You could do an entire Santa Fe trip just focused on the art in the city
Oh gosh, you need to quit traveling, my bucket list is getting bigger 🤣. My girls keep sending me Meow Woof videos from Las Vegas, I had no idea there were more. Of course, I googled it and now I am getting a ton of ads, lol. Santa Fe looks amazing, isn’t that where they have the big hot air balloon festival?
Balloon Fiesta is in Albuquerque, about 50 miles south of Santa Fe. About the second week of October.
I went to Meow Wolf Omega Mart in Vegas and it was so awesome and fun!
Going to the Santa Fe location definitely made me want to go to all of them!
Fun to trip balls(LSD) in Meow Wolf house..😝😝😝
I live near Santa Fe. It is beautiful. Be careful what you buy. A lot of scammers and not New Mexican made.
It's good to be cautious but it doesn't happen in Santa Fe that much. I've worked at two shops near the plaza. If you're really worried about authenticity, I suggest buying directly from the Native American artists that sit under the porch at the Palace of the Governors
Very cool area, but also very expensive from all my travels.
Which did you like better on your pie, green or red?
❤
If you have never tried Navajo tacos they are a must.
I’ve definitely had them and they are amaaaazing!
@@LeggLife there is nothing like southwest fry bread. That is definitely the real deal.
I live in Los Alamos. Did you make it up the Hill?
I think taking pictures of the art is not the main reason why you would be disresoectful, it's photos of the artists. I believe it's because photos take some of their positive spirit away. You would have to look that up, but all in all refreshing to know the culture.
With the Meow Wolf people with epilepsy or anything else that flashing lights and lights cause bad things to your head this is definitely not a place for you
So beautiful- just having a bit of a crap day thanks to 4 Individuals who like to test me. Two of them have made it so worse for them. I’m done
I have studied Georgia okeffe at school in art as a teen.
I hope your day turns around!
@@LeggLife Thankfully the hamsters help as a distraction. I need to make some phone calls to various people about them. Some of them cause so much anger and stress etc. Today I had a chirping very happy daisy winter white ham. They also give kisses too.
Went there in april 2020. Was towards the end of the covid farce. Was not impressed. Food was expensive and never had one meal that was what i would consider 5 out of 10. Very much a tourist town. We did enjoy Meow Wolf. That was the main reason we went. There is so much history in Santa Fe which also makes it worth the visit. Once was enough for us. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
... the beginning of it?
@@norabradley9108 not 2020 it was 2021
You complained about it being a tourist town. Going to Santa Fe to see meow Wolf is the ultimate tourist activity. I would hope people go to Santa Fe to learn about culture and history and art. There is so much more to Santa Fe than meow Wolf. If you’re not impressed with Santa Fe. I don’t know what to say.
@@pamelabassett7778 Nothing was open besides Meow Wolf. All the galleries were closed 1 year post COVID. We already had the trip planned when we found out that everything but Meow Wolf was closed. Food sucked!!!!!! Service sucked!!!!!! Enjoyed the history as I said in my comment, otherwise it sucked!!!!
The elected officials not governing our city is creating chaos for the people visiting and people living in Santa Fe. The loud cars that take over our city day and night and the speeding cars and running red lights is an embarrassment to this city and the tax payers. There is no police presence to control any of this. In short, Santa Fe is going in the wrong direction. The officials are more interested with making the rail and art district another Disney park and not fixing problems at hand. I moved to Santa Fe over 14 years ago and love it, but the last few years of increased noise from the modified car mufflers have taken over the sound scape and is causing noise pollution that's unacceptable for most cities. My family and friends will no longer visit due to lack of sleep either in hotel rooms or at my place due to the noise. There are laws in place to curb the illegal cars but it's not being enforced. This is unfair and I don't know to approach it. I have contacted the governor's office and never received a reply, same with the mayor. Do our elected officials ever step outside to see what's going on in this city? This has been going on for a long time and there's been more than ample time to fix this.
You're in public dude, if they display their shit in public, you can photograph it. Downvote.
