Totally missed the best part of town. I've lived here for 12 years, I live where he says "Beto's Corner", just turn left there. I love it, have great neighbors and it's beautiful and green in my neighborhood.

for real! Or check out our recent police shooting(last night,) the circle k shooting(out of towner) the mavrick shooting (out of towner)
The way they are building, Camp Verde just isn't the same. It's people visiting that ruined our fossil creek and now we have to pay to swim in our own back yard. It's the visitors that caused so much trouble at Childs. They blocked off twin bridges, we can't even drive up and fish behind bashas because of the new subdivision. Won't be long until we're Cottonwood

Thanks for the tour! I just discovered this town on the internet. Looks like a nice place to flee if the politics here in L.A. make it unlivable. I saw a crusty trailer park right on one end of the adorable Old West main street. Something called a 'studio apartment' is being rented for $750 which doesn't sound bad. Until I looked on google maps and saw that it was HALF of a single wide trailer. Yipes.

Sedona is gorgeous, but its beauty and desirability make it much more expensive. If it's so much better, why do you choose not to live there? Perhaps "we" should all move to Sedona.

@@myoldvhstapes I was born and raised in this town it already sucks cause Californians, constant tourists,
      Drug availability and homeless people
I think I can speak for the rest of us when I say "we" don't want you our retirement home is full and would probably cost to much for to live in anyway

I made the mistake of moving to Camp Verde, AZ! After recovering financially from a divorce, busted my Ar$E to get another home, HATE paying rent! Moved to Camp Verde thinking it would be a GREAT retirement area! Sedona, Flagstaff, Cottonwood, Prescott and Phoenix an hour and a half away! I bought a cheaper mobile in a section of town that was just annexed by the city from the county. Was promised the city was going to pass ordinances making some of these people clean up their trashy property and WAS planning to take the mobile home out and build a nice retirement home! Well, 10 years later and wasting a lot of time and effort, my white trash neighbor still let's his grass grow up to 5 foot, he's a drunk and is a total nightmare of a neighbor, his property should be condemned. It's NOT just him, in about a 3 block area, at least 50% of the properties are run down junk yards! Waist high grass, junk cars, piles of trash all throughout their property! Bunch of good old boys around who care NOTHING about cleaning up their town, increasing property and resale values! The city government is a joke! The politicians care only about one thing, appeasing these losers just to get their vote and care NOTHING about growing and improving their communities! You DO NOT want to invest your hard earned money and retire in this backwards dump of a town! I've met with the Mayor, several city council members and got nothing but excuses and lip service!

Thanks for your comment. I was researching about here because a friend suggested it but now it's down to maybe Prescott Valley or onto Cali or Portland. I'm from Houston and Camp Verde sounds like a micro H-town LOL.

@@pjrichards3974 Smart move, this is a great location, it's just the City Government only cares about the downtown area and keep it spit shined and landscaping is impeccable! When I tell the Mayor and City Council members WHY can't MY NEIGHBORHOOD be held to the same standards and they RUN the other way! It's pretty sad that we have such pathetic people running our town! It could be one of the best area's around if they just stood behind the good citizens who want to make it better! Bunch of backwards cow pokes who could care less about your property values!

@@pjrichards3974 I think camp verde would be a nice place, but just don't settle for a mobile on a lot, buy a few acres with a small house. I 'm from Houston too, I saw some run down areas on the side of the road, like the lady above was talking about. It still seems llike a nice place.. Some people get into the habit of collecting non working cars and just let them sit. But the town has some much history with the cliff dwellers and everything.
