One does not simply win a copy. But, just in case, how would I win a copy? Also, absolutely love the channel and always see if SwitchUp has reviewed a game I'm curious about before purchasing. Sandrock looks awesome! Loved Portia even though it still doesn't run the best on the switch.
Hey! Thanks so much for your early review of Sandrock on Switch. We're excited to let you know that we've just released a brand new version, V1.2.2 on March, with lots of improvements, particularly in fps and more. We'd love for you to check out the new version. If you're not sure what's new, feel free to visit our page to find out all the updates' details. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!
Very glad you guys made a review for this - I played the prequel quite a bit and was very curious about this one! I also really appreciated the townsfolk and community improving style quests of the first game.
I'm totally stoked to play it! The whole post-apocalyptic, building, and adventure vibe seems super cool. Can't wait to dive into this game and see what kind of quirky characters and adventures await. Thanks for the awesome video!
I just finished the whole thing 15 minutes ago. Totally worth it. For me it's even better than BG3. At least 200 hours of game play. Full of satisfaction at the end.
How did it run on the switch compared to my time at portia? I felt like my time at portia was so lagging n took so long to load it became frustrating and unplayable. One of the few games onnthe switch I have felt that way about
Thanks so much for covering this one! I'm on the fence since I only have the Switch to play it on and wasn't sure how well it would run. I didn't manage to get into Portia so much and it stuttered a bit on my Switch. This one looks like a lot of fun! I love games that let me "channel my inner Wall-E" to gather and build things!
I never wanted to win something so badly at this channel as this game right here. I enjoyed every second of Portia! Which I btw discovered because of you guys as well! Fingers crossed! No...fingers tangled!
Came to UA-cam this AM specifically to see if you guys reviewed this game yet! With the issues when Portia came out, I was hesitant to get this one until I knew how it ran on Switch. Looking forward to losing some hours in Sandrock once it is patched up.
I can see myself sinking another 100s of hours into this one like I did the first game. I trust the devs to patch this one up over time. Plus I always check back for "all patched up?!" Series. Keeps me well up to date on stuff and appreciate you all doing that series. This game very much on my radar to get hopefully soon.
Yay, double review day! What a treat we get to listen to your dulcet tones twice today Mark 😂 Thanks for Azdin for the review! Seems like something to look out for in the future. I hope the devs keep on working on it 💪
This game looks like a lot of fun, and I really like that you get to rebuild the place! That's a game mechanic I'm a total sucker for! Hopefully we see this in an all patched up if the day one patch isn't enough!
I think it will be worth it, especially when they gets the bugs worked out. This dev team seems to be really responsive to the community (they were on the first one) so it will be a good one to see on the all patched up series for sure.
Don't buy it on switch Portia is still a hot mess on there. Pathea are excellent with the game on pc but very slow and will no doubt drop support for console versions alot sooner like they did with portia. As much as I don't like to say it as I love both games but unless you can get the pc version I just wouldn't recommend them.
Loved the first game, the style the gameplay loop, just such a good game to somewhat relax with but if you’re like me you can get competitive as I always wanted to finish first at the end of the year! It was great how much you got to see all the changes you make actually reflect in the world, defo want to get this once I have a few other games off the backlog 😅
Been looking forward to this one, so I appreciate the review! I'd played "My Time At Portia" on the Playstation, but really wanted this one on Switch. I'm going to wait a bit, but hopefully can pick it up in the future.
I stuck with Portia for a long time despite how poor the Switch port was. I am really looking forward to this one! I also read somewhere that at the back of the development of Sandrock, the developers are coming up with improvements for the Portia port, which is such good news. I think the whole setting of these series is so unique and fun, cannot wait to load this one up later today!
Yep. From the tweet they made the switch port of Portia is going to be more optimized with stable frame rate and quicker loading times. They showed a comparison of going into the commerce guild. On the current version is was time as 7 seconds loading. On the new version it’s 4 seconds
@@Shalyn-ln9tu Pathea weren’t the ones that made the switch port of Portia. It was team17. They released a game that was a buggy mess and then pretty much said peace out. So Pathea then had to learn what Team17 had left behind and bring in another studio to try and work on patches- Pringle Studios. After the official release of Sandrock on pc they’ve gone back to the switch version to implement fixes and optimizations that they learned from working on the switch version. The frame rate will be more stable and loading screens are pretty much halved now. They posted comparison videos showing before and after videos where before the fix loading screens were 8 seconds and now they will be 4 seconds. I was impressed
I loved My Time at Portia but Sandrock completely blew me away with how much it improved upon the first already great game. I've been playing it in Early Access and I need it to be super successful so I can get another game!
Appreciate the review as always! Unfortunately, My Time At Portia ran so badly on Switch I never got very far in it. I think i will try this one on Steam.
Thank you for this review. I played 5 hours of "my time of Portia."The game doesn't hold your hand at all. You're alone to do what you do best which is build, and farm. The only problem I have with this series is I am an introvert. I have no friends, and this series makes you have friends with people. I don't like that. I like that I can be a hermit crab. In the first game the game pushed me to be with friends with the mayor to get discounts on the land. I said screw this.
Just grabbed My Time at Portia on Steam this weekend for $7...so I will wait for this one to be all polished up since I am golden for a while. But I do like the setting a lot. Waiting to see if I enjoy the first title. Some new all patched up content in future eh? Thx!
I played the first one thanks to a certain pair pointing it out in a video (thanks guys 😁) and although it’s a bit clunky I just love it and find it so relaxing, can’t wait to get lost in the second one too!
Loved my time at Portia, highlighted as a Zeldaesque (it’s not) game, when I was looking for something to fill that Zelda void. So ready for your (Ashtin’s) review, glad it hit the mark and is a more complex tale/game mechanic. Defo the next physical pick up
I never got around to purchasing and playing Portia but i was always interested. This looks like a good place to start. Action RPG with SIM elements? Sign me up!
I really want to get the switch version, but i just don't trust them with the performance patch. Portia on OLED worked... ok... until you reached the fighting stage -- then it was just mad pixels and delays lagged by delays. If they didn't fix that (still!) then I think I'll stick to PC version.
The first one helped my brother well still be alive today so as his bday is soon, definitely need to pick this up for him as he detests his bday for good reason so the timing on this is perfect, between Jupiter with Picross and Pathea with these, they've easily kept him around for 3 years I feared he wouldn't be here for.
Sunk many hours into this on steam deck and enjoyed every minute. I have a switch and yes can highly recommend. Just hope the patches fix any bugs and glitches would be a shame to not play this game at its full potential.
The first one was really good. It had a lot of bugs they they fixed it really well. This game looks to be running better at launch and I'm sure they can get it fixed up really well. I'll probably pick it up on sale at some point.
I played the first game, My Time at Portia, on my docked Switch and the game crashes every couple game days. The only solution is to turn off the game, go back to the main menu of the Switch, and restart the software. It also crashed sometimes when I did dungeon runs and when upgrading my property. So, I hope Sandrock will TRULY be patched to not crash like the first one did. Also, doesn't it seem like the item placement limit is kind of low? (see notes)
Excited to try out this one after having bought the first one! It also looks like some of the downsides can be fixed with patches so it might be a diamond in the rough for now.
I really liked the first game, despite all the bugs at launch. So I will likely grab this one sooner or later. And while I get frustrated with bugs, I thank the developers for staying hard at work to fu=ix the issues!
I have the first one and I played it a little. I remember liking it and I'm not sure why I stopped. Maybe I should go back to it while I wait to see if the day one patch fixes all those performance issues 😳
Why do developers release games in a poor performance state? I don't understand do they not test their games? Sorry could somebody explain this to me as i am completely confuzzled 🤔🤔
Hey! Great review&I enjoy them,I honestly don't mind hearing your reviews on games that idk about or even care about lol I just enjoy your perspective it honestly sometimes makes me want to check some of them out even if I didn't know anything about them!👍🏿👍🏿
Great review. Definitely seems fun and an improvement from Portia. Will most likely get it physically or if it goes on sale (or if I win one of those codes lol. Unlikely but not impossible 👀)
The switch has actually made me fall in love with life sims And intake you guys opinion as they seem pretty spot on to my taste, took you up on Dave the diver and I’ve been absolutely loving it, this one is 100% going on my wish list
Wow didn't even realize they made a sequel, playing through Portia right now.Hopefully it plays better than Portia. The frame drops and errors are frequent in the first one.
I have no doubt My Time at Sandrock will be amazing and cant wait to give it a go, also just to point it out there SandRock had to be one of the coolest Gundam in the Gundam Wing Series. Awesome review like always guys really enjoyed it appreciate you guys !
It's a good games, play it on PC. Switch port is not worth the performance and graphical downgrade. If you guys wanted to play on the go, i recommend it to play on PC handheld like Steamdeck, Asus ROG Ally or Lenovo Legion GO. I personally play it on ROG Ally and it's nice
It funny, there's a few games coming out this month that are almost sure pick ups for me, but I'm excited to see your guys' review of them none the less.
Have been looking forward to this one, enjoyed My Time At Portia and hopefully with this one the patches will keep making the game better. I know on PC they’ve been hard at work and this game has changed quite a bit in response to feedback, so fingers crossed that carries over now post release
A shame as I was hoping this one would run and look much better than Portia, especially with the original dev team working on it (and constantly flaunting that fact). I'll probably grab on discount and after several patches.
Portia took me a long time to get into the swing of things and the inventory navigation can be a little overwhelming to start with. Other issue is occasional crashes but once I got into the swing of things it was very enjoyable. It did have a lot of good mechanics. Hopefully they improved with this one
I cannot wait! Had the first on pc then got it on switch (never had any problems with it thankfully) and ive played it more on switch then pc but still havent finished it. Going to finish portia before sandrock and hopefully by then the performance is patched! I love playing portia on switch
Bit of a rough time for this to release. Some names crowding the window but i genuinely hope My Time at Sandrock does well. id love a copy but my money is otherwise engaged already haha
Thanks for the review! Very much looking forward to playing this, after they fix it up a bit. Is there any way to make combat easier? I’m not great at real time combat. I avoided it as much as I could in Portia, but it sounds like it’s more prevalent in Sandrock.
I got addicted to the first one, but then put off by the performance issues, which seemed to get worse the more they patched it. I’d love to give this a go but it looks like it runs pretty badly in the footage.
I havent touched sandrock yet but i enjoyed the hell out of portia. If im gonna be real this is stardew + harvest moon on steroids. Far better in every aspect in my opinion
Hey SwitchUp Family, want to win a copy of this one? Good game for sure I enjoyed the first! Mark

Oh man! I've been waiting the whole year for this one. Thank you for the great review as always!

Fab looking game in a sea of cosy farming games that hit our pockets this year. I like the different take and focus of this one. I would love a copy.
This looks highly addictive, after patches I could see it being worth a good few hundred hours 😂

What I enjoyed the most with the first game was the music, so relaxing. I hope it's like that in this game.
Man, farm sim enjoyers are eating good in the last half of the year!
Thanks for the review! I'll be keeping my eye on this one!
I’m soooo excited for this one!! Easily going to be a day one pick up for me
Never got to try Portia, but this one looks to be better (always was a sucker for westerns).
Looking forward to a future All Patched Up video!
Never played Portia but this seems interesting! I LOVED Stardew and ever since have been looking for a good farming sim with action aspects to it.
Wow didn't even realize they made a sequel, playing through Portia right now.Hopefully it plays better than Portia. The frame drops and errors are frequent in the first one.
what you should have done in the first 5 minutes or so, talk about the difference between My time at portia and this

My times in Portia still need many fixes! How can i trust the new game when the old one pretty much barely receive any proper updates on the switch?!
I have been so excited for this game for so long!!!!

It runs a lot better than Portia
Oh yes! So freaking excited for this one! Loved my time at portia!!!
Portia I always felt was a flawed gem . Will be happy to pick this one up
Thats a solid three star review! Thanks! I've considered getting Portia because it's said to be "smaller" I think I'll stick with this one though.
What an interesting review, keep up the amazing work, SwitchUp!😊
Cant wait ti play. Been eyeing this off for a while now
Been waiting for this one, winning a copy would be just ridiculous. Cheers!

Really loved the first game..bummer I wasn't able to play the switch version, but the mobile port was so good!💯💯
I agree. I always recommend the mobile port of Portia
