This buils has by far the highest damage but it also requires you to stand still which kinda kills it for me, the only time the damage itself is noticeable is on high HP target (bosses). On trash mobs it's just overkill and I'd much rather go with the Ravage build letting me move around a lot quicker. Sadly I failed on Wave 98 in Tarroch's Tomb but I'm sure this build can clear it just as fine as Ravage, it was more a L2P issue on my side as I first of all didn't play for about half a year but I'm also more used to playing Ravage, Wolfpack was only played for the purpose of these videos.

It appears I lied ^^, I never tried Tarroch's Tomb as Raze since it takes 10min to clear and I ran into some problems with the other builds (1shot on Wave 98) so I figured I'd just not bother.

This is in no way earned in a legitimate way, 3rd party tools has been used in order to speed up the process (or even make it possible) - however the sole purpose of this is to simply create the perfect character. If you'd like to try out my character I added a link down below, I've removed all Cheat flags on the account and also the items as it looks so boring with that on. =]
The video was recorded around 6 months ago but the actual theorycrafting / tuning took place more than 1 year ago so I hope what I say in the video is correct. I don't remember much at this point so I can't really say myself but it should give you an idea.
I got this whole idea from a XKilla on the TL2 forums (forums.runicgames.com/viewtopi...) and I really enjoyed it, although there's some differences in our builds and also choice of gear.
The idea to make the video (and also try Raze) came from a 'Ivan Mornar' ( • Torchlight 2 insane be... ) here on youtube. As said in the vidoe I think I was doing something wrong as the boss should've died faster than he did it considering the big stat difference but all in all I wasn't too satisfied by that build as it's single target making it a lot less efficient over time while moving around etc.
Then there's the Critical Hits Media's Wolfpack video ( • Torchlight 2 Berserker... ) that gave me the idea to try that out, again, with some modifications.
I barely remember the details on how to do what as I write this but feel free to ask about stuff and I'll try to remember - and a last thing, save yourself the trouble from pointing out this is not legit, it's not. To put it in perspective, if I wanted to do this whole thing legit, I'd probably still sit here today trying to get a perfect (4x) roll on the 1st item (out of 12). =]

Hey, man, my 5 cents here that some people may find useful
Glacial spike base damage is 7100 as per combatlog, besting thunder (2k something) by damage and immobilization and meteor (5-12k i don't remember now) by absence of delay.
Neither wolfpack nor ravage will not benefit from secondary target bunes in Samadow skull, as there's no direct autoattack hit.
Crit damage is softcapped at +450%, and hardcapped at +500%.
Howl and frostbreath are a global multipliers, means it will get you to 1.45 on total damage whereas any stuff like dual wielding or weapon expertise is and additive bonus (if you have 1000% damage bonus it will be 1030% for example). Howl is huge difference. Especially on hardcore builds.
Raze needs cast speed and mana.
Thunder hatchet is bugged since it double increases modifier by str and focus separately or so and resulting damage is way over wolfpack without glacial spike. Also it's cheap, shatters shields and may get a full rage bar in one hit.
Mana steal will not work on both ravage and wolfpack as you show in this video, it needs a autoattack or frostbreath.
Blood hunger has internal cd of 1 sec.
Execution is useless unless autoattacking.
On DR cap battle rage will not provide any more physical damage reduction and damage bonus is additive, not multiplicative. The proximity calculation has some 1 second delay, means if they charge at you from aura radius it will not get time to activate for DR(as per character sheet numbers).
Shatter storm is kinda weird as it's duration counter will stop as the target is in for of war. Means i come back from a town trade through a teleport , move ahead as spot a mob still immobilized.
one point makes wonders as AI will stop doing anything for duration, even war titan from a tarroach tomb.
Rataliation is unknown value to me. It's won't proc glacial spike, it's not working off blocked attack means i direct hit is required. 1 point gives 2 sec cd. Whereas 15 reduce cd and give more dps percentage as base. If i'm getting melee attcked by the same group more then 1 time in a row means i'm doing something wrong as a non tank character. With dual wielding this usually brings a character to low hp. Here i had 1 point though everyone has his own vision.
Red wolf if affected by focus as you have here, since it's flat damage value. No benefit from str directly (for people doing str builds).
Stormclaw works from autoattack only (direct attack) and it is a damage per shot, not damage per second which is better for slower weapons then claws. For casting builds it has no synergy.
Rampage can be activated by destroying breakables and squishing small spiders(was before).
Ice shield has some limit on reflected missiles. It is still possible to be hit through it by a fire trap missiles or erzohir artificer missiles if all of them land even at 100% chance to reflect.
Dexterity bonuses are non linear so offering less value per point with every point invested, the same goes for block chance for vitality. Blocking spell Parma's coalburner shield, enchantments are good alternatives to direct investments (except for what was explained by author). There is no way to reset stats other than console command flagging a player as a cheater.
It took me a month or so to do vanilla enchantments with at least 2 strong ones on two characters back in 2013, no console or mods. Clean characters. Mage got 2700 focus with 5 str and softcapped crit damage later(rambrens) as crit damage was not affecting non dps skills before 1.21. And got my 99 items farming. Didn't bother to do the same for 105s when 1.21 patch came out. Just wasn't worth it.
Top stat enchantment for 99 lvl item is 58. for 100 is 60. 105s will have more.
Dervish 4 and 6 don't share cooldowns so you may use one after another. There is no dervish 5 existing though.
Well my channel was closed cause of background music i was listening to and mixed by recorder, so when i uploaded 3 videos at once drag and drop it was a violation of copyrights and channel closed. So i did it back in 2013 when the game was fresh and gotta tell you mage is superior to zerk in it's perfect form. 3.7M max damage on a single target, 27k life, 65% dr and 75% block, all screen aoe.
DPS for dps part skills is calculated off right hand weapon only opening an exploit where a fast second hand weapon may be used to boost total dps significantly. Hell you can even have a wand or pistol in left hand it only matters what's in right one for a skill melee requirement. Though outlander may have a melee weapon in right hand and cast all but rapid fire, includin venomous hail. The check for ranged weapon "compatibility" goes lefthanded, while dps check is normal righthanded.
Zerk only excels in burst damage however lvl196 war titan may oneshot a character without a shield in elite tarroach tomb and with a shield glacial spike proc chance goes down to 25%. I did him no shield but it's kinda 50/50 win or die: ether i immobilize him and dash behind or he wins. While mage was fine with ice prison on him. BTW haven't seen anyone in Tarroach tomb elite, they all played casual in multiplayer. Oh boy, those glass cannons)
On zerk I used dual iceshard doninators 2k dps (the item itself) and resulting 0.21 speed factor without dervish which was 0.17 dervish speed and fastest clean-up with ravage, even better than maces of retribution (which are best for wolfpack). My highest weapon dps was 57k (character sheet "+" info), whereas outlander only managed to get to top 40ks. Now with four socketed netherrealms maybe it's possible go higher, depending on enchanting luck.
The fastest speed factor i got to was 0.09 (dominators with vastok) and gamebreaking in 1.19 before they nerfed it in 1.21. You could autoattack anything to death, there were no attack animations on character, it would just keep hands still and targets popping.
I also did not go for full Harbinger, got blue belt with -5% all damage for every mob in 6m and when i enchanted it i learned about a delay before actual activation, but i was too tired to enchant another belt again. And Cindermen shoulders for stats.
Pre 1.21 ravage wins, otherwise - wolfpack. On hardcore builds (shields) - wolfpack (hammer of retribution with eyes of basilisk for 10% thunder chance, focus build) or raze/thunder hatchet (shield)
However without glacial spike wolfpack will be way behind both ravage and thunder hatchet.
Also try farming Limoany skulls for DR or Riechliu HP without duplicating - it's freaking hard. And they only drop on same level range maps means you won't find any on 105 maps. Most players don't know this. So for hardcore there's no way to go without capped block rate.
There are few worst killers in game. Traps on NGs+ and reflected missile bug. The first one you can evade, the second one you can't. It's a multiplayer bug where an enemy projectile gets reflected off a teamplayer and gets multiplied by idk how much, probably cap damage plus invisible. This is how it's possible to die in multiplayer with a mess on a screen thinking i've got 20k hp and 50% DR just staying behind everybody in oneshot. As i stopped playing this bug was still there. And there was an outlander's venomous hail bug which can kill teammates, maybe solved by now.
As for single most damaging skill in a game i would think of venomous hail. With top upgraded pistols it 1 shots pretty mush everything. 400k*12 is possible, maybe more if debuffing with a glaive before.
Some people may not know that there is no way to get back to NG once you selected to go to a next difficulty meaning no possibility to play with other people who stay at NG mostly. I had to leave one character just to talk and trade with other players. Strange idea by runic games, literally i had to play all NGs+ alone and if i ever saw a game that was past NG3+ it was on a password.

Any recommendations as to where I can get a deeper look into min-maxing a character? I want to dive deep and get a close to perfection build going in hardcore elite but it's difficult to look for information since the game is rather old by now.
@@ande964a I can't really say, buddy. It's been a while since game's best days. All that data you may find is ether pre 1.21 or post it. Some mechanics have changed in 1.21 like crit damage for "magic" and attack speed cap. So older data may be outdated. You may PM me or look somewhere else. I know good enough embermage, zerk and outlander. I can't say much about engineer though. He used to have some bugs back then idk about now.

How do you get your health back? 1 point into hunger semse low? Ive been trying to lvl with this build setup on Elite Also with My friend so 2 Times difficulty. I often die 1 shot ko caus i literly have No hp? And i have No other means in how to get My HP back other then using potions 24/7 . Any advice? Should i try get a weapon with health leech on and start stack HP stats on armor?
I believe the health return on the skill is % based on the damage dealt.

If i cant find these weapons what weapons should i go for? You spec alot into focus talents but can i get strenght weapons or dexterity weapons? Do i need weapons that has some sort of elements in Them? Why choose focus talents?
I honestly can't remember much. Best with a Million Eyes is probably a solid alternative though as far as weapons go.
Question, how is the early game of this build?i play on console so i dont have anyway to respec. Is there a variation of this build that doesnt rely on focus
I think the build is strong no matter the stats, the weapon ice proc dmg is really good iirc. But of course it won't as insane.
Focus just amplifies the proc dmg. Ravage = a lot of hits = a lot of procs.

Hey, I really can't remember sorry (this was how many years ago?), I used some mod to guarantee some roll thing (really can't remember) but to answer the question, yes there are mods/cheats whatever you want to call it, this is not a realistic representation of what you can achieve normally due to the insane RNG involved but rather see it as a guide / showcase, a bit like what a TAS (Tool Assisted Speedrun) is for normal speedruns. So the build can still be made, just not as insanely strong (without console etc). I think I went through this in the commentary or description? Can't remember. There's 3 videos iirc.

Hey, i'm really wondering if shred armor is really that good ?
I can't help you with that sorry, feel free to do the math / DL my character and try it out. I haven't played this game for a long time now.
Well the math is armor is technically simple, it adds or remove flat damage. It means you will be able to do +678 dmg/hit and you will reduce incoming damage per 227.
So even if it stacks up, it's pretty weak compared to the kind of damage you deal and of the kind of damage you're capable of tanking :)
That would be the math, but since i see pretty much anyone playing that skill, i'm still wondering... :)
If that's the case, it's pretty much worthless. ^^ Where would you rather put those 15 points? Shatter Storm (got math for this?), Frenzy Mastery or Blood Hunger perhaps?
Well i'm not sure... I'm not even close of having your DPS... So yeah, any of those i guess, i don't like casting the storm hatchet so i did put them in the frenzy to have a longer Frenzy (and add quite some speed for runs)
Yeah, just playing around on the calc a bit. Frenzy Mastery 15/15 would bring it to 13.5sec which is a bit more than double duration. One can argue if Blood Hunger is worth (12% up from 5%) but I think it's not, as you CAN survive if you play good regardless, might as well get some more dmg (if dmg / efficiency is the goal). Shatter Storm, not sure how much more damage we'd get here (-75% to Ice Armor) but afaik the current enemy has to explore to hit enemies nearby to affect them and stuff kinda gets instagibbed anyways so I think Frenzy Mastery is defo the way to go. Not sure how much damage Red Wolf gives (if its like tooltip or smth else). Not sure what else to swap for though. More abilities isn't really needed, and while Battle Standards and Shouts are nice you just get slowed down in the end of the day as everything you look at just die anyways. :D Maybe something to consider on a legit character with "normal" stats.

Lulleh a second question, what pc did you use back in 2016 when you upload this video, cause your game looks so smooth, like not fps drop or what so ever, I'm trying to understand whats the magic behind ? nowadays on windows 10 + ryzen 5 1600 gpu gtx 1060 , i get 120fps-150 fps but drop to 60-48 and even 13fps in combats with many monsters..

awesome build I just wish you explained what skills are best to take in witch order I am waiting for the game to unlock in an hr on the switch going to try this ravage build never played the game before.
Oh, I wish I remember. I haven't touched the game since I made the build. 2 things though, if I were to start again I'd totally go for this build again. Also, as explained, this build is pushed to it's limits that won't be reached during normal gameplay (cheats and such was involved due to the extreme rng otherwise required to get the stat rolls)(I'd still be trying to this day most likely) so it won't be as potent but focus on the build as well as getting those weapons specifically (it's all about that ice proc). To answer your question about order, you'd want to get down to Ravage asap. I can't remember if there's any level requirement on the skills but a general rule of thumb I'd use by just looking at it now is to put 1 point in most things to "enable" them. Leave Cold Steel Mastery for when you get the weapons for example since the ice damage is useless without the ice proc. The stuff you'd want 1 point in (asap) would be Battle Rage, Stormclaw, Blood Hunger (for the healing), Rampage (leave this for later since it's just 5% so might as well grab something that is 100% (Active skill) or higher %), Savage Rush for mobility, Shred Armor and Red Wolf. And of course get Ravage asap.

@@_mr_.God. did I have to use potion here? Iirc it's a set bonus on the Aristocrat set as well as another one. Can't remember if it's the one I use, the name stuck somehow. It's also rare quality. One is a 2 set bonus, the other a 3 set.

Why are you maxing red wolf which does focus based damage and at the same time storm claw which does strength based damage? Also you build a melee zerker without shadow burst, seems somehow strange to me, also I'm not sure why you prefer battle rage over howl.
I honestly can't remember. Isn't it the other way around though? Stormclaw seems to be elemental based and Red Wolf seems to be physical based? Just read the tooltips of the skill tree. Short answer I can give now is that having both is better than 1 (compared to if you'd spend the points elsewhere. Iirc having more skills to press would not make sense since you'd want to just spam Ravage while having the Active buffs up and I guess there was no other worthwhile Passive skills to take either.

I'm wondering how do you do that enchantment stats.....
I used some mod that made them proc 100% of the time. In addition to that I duped the items after each time I got something I wanted. So doing 10x enchants was a lot faster. Then delete the bad ones and keep the good one, dupe and repeat. Til 4x desired enchants was obtained.
By any chance. What mod did you use? How will I know if the StashNinja will update?
Oh, I can't remember that. Just google something that gives 100% proc chance on enchants.

Setbonus from Legs/Ring. Inquisitor. 1% Mana Stolen. That's 1% of DMG dealt btw. Considering the dmg is so high, even 1% is more tan enough to fill the full Mana Pool instantly.
@@Lulleh2503 so for this to be viable,do i need % mana stolen, or fixed number mana stolen is enough early game. Im talking about level 50 to 60 though. (Im talking about ravage build though)
@@Tommy_turner_Probably % still. The Mana Pool is so small so you'll fill it quickly anyways. I haven't played the game for over 4 years but iirc there is another set called Aristocrat, with 2% Mana Stolen. Although that was a 3 piece bonus and not 2 piece so I ended up going for this one, since 1% was more than enough anyways (the set itself is shit so the fewer pieces the better).

I can't remember exactly but the idea was to reach certain caps with DEX and STR and put rest into Focus, to boost the proc from the weapons.

How I can remove the skill points?
There is a cheated item called "potion of respec". You can spawn them as much as you want. First, you need to activate the console and then you have to use a command to spawn those potions.

Sure. I have a non steam version ( I downloaded the game from epic) So keep this in mind, perhaps it does not work in the steam version.

1) find where Torchlight II stores your save data:
• My Documents\My Games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2
2) Inside this folder you should find a file named settings.txt and change
"Console:0" to "Console:1" and

To spawn the respec potion:
1. (upon activating console) Press the "Insert" key to open the the Console.
2. Type "ITEM RespecPotion" (without the quotations, of course) and press "Enter" key.
The potion will appear on the ground. You can repeat this line by simply pressing the "Up Arrow"key in the console, which will copy the last command you inputted; this allows mass production in a
short time.
3. Pick up and use the potion.
That´s all
Also, keep in mind 2 last things:
1) you need to be in sigleplayer to spawn potions of respect (just to spawn them, then you can use them whenever you want, even in multilpayer or lan games)
2) The player you use to create potions will be tagged as cheater. (just a little warning icon for other players when they inspect you). It is not a big thing, but maybe you care about that.
If you happen to care, you could avoid this by creating the potions with a random character, then transfer them to the character you want to respec.
Have you tried to get this character using a fair ways? I believe that the real damage and toughness are far away from this variant. Going to make similar character without cheating and doing some stuff with a console so I`m asking just for the confidence that I`m not wasting my time using this "build".
I have not, when I played the game it was not that many people playing it and I figured I'd still sit here as we speak rolling those stats if I tried the legit way. As for how it would preform using "normal" gear I am not sure but I can tell for sure I'd go for the same setup even if I would have to do it legit. The Weapons are not too hard to get iirc and they are like the most important thing so they should be prioritized. You would probably not get the same overall clear speed though as you'd do less dmg meaning killing stuff would take longer and in turn exposing you to more damage which may get you killed, as you said toughness etc would be lower as well. It's either this (high risk / reward(speed) or the Wolf Pack build is the slower but safer approach (got a vid on that too).

Why put almost point into focus ? I think Berserker deal physical damage. Why not strength or dex ?

Wolfpack or ravage ????
I'd say Ravage 9/10. Wolfpack does more damage per hit and would have higher if you were to stand still and fights would be like WoW bosses, HP wise. But it's not, since you're usually always on the move I found Ravage a lot more enjoyable. And the damage numbers shown here are also quite overkill so doesn't matter if you deal 1m or 5m dmg per hit if whatever you're killing has 100k hp, for example.

@@ZEGCHAT Can't remember that. I think there was some sweet spot for Str and Dex though, then dump the rest into Int. Check the video around 7:00, think I might be talking about it there.
