    The improvements/projects are providing the finishing touches to the place!
    Holy Cow!
    I like the idea of adding a deck above the boat canopy...
    Provides another viewing area/gathering point without blocking the views of the water from inside/the deck...
    Adding the steps to the upper floor helps get up there without going inside...
    Essentially...
    It all takes time, vision, and drive.
    At the end of the day, there are those that talk and those who do..
    You are a doer, James...
    Anyway...
    Enjoy your Sunday, you two & family...
    Here, having to schedule the team for the coming week, so a bit of good work to be done...
    Still time for a swim later, and a little relax time...
    Bottom line:
    Life is good, we are all blessed...
    But, it is based on focused effort...
    Day in and day out, getting done what has to be done, to realize the dream/vision...
    Some people don't understand the term "Delay of Gratification."
    The end result can be better enjoyed knowing you had the internal fortitude to stick it out, to step-by-step move forward, one day/task at a time...
    I know this from my own experience, and it's apparent you know this as well!
    Well done!
    👍😎👍

    Hey James man that new open deck will be so cool if it were mine that's where you would find me when weather permits. Hey a Question when do you have planned to finish that fantastic spiral staircase in the house ??? Are you going to put up wood or stainless hand rails ?? Brother yall have that form poured steps down pat you make it look so easy peesy lol 😆. Brother you keep spending & have been for awhile now I know the labor is cheap and some but not all materials are cheaper there than here . But damn bro your going to have a sizeable investment there when you get finished .
    You can't help but have & I realize the place is now bringing in a money flow now but wow . But Your going to have a Texas size palace there amigo 🤔. It's nice to be the big boy on the block ain't it cuz I'm very happy for yall and it is good to be King !!!

    Wood moves with the seasons, no matter what the finish. This is a fact of life known to woodworkers who build furniture and must be taken into account when designing projects. As for the dirty kitchen, it is one of the best ideas to come out of the PI.

    Pay no attention to the haters they just don’t understand you’re on an island in the tropics almost on the equator. It’s hot. It’s humid and there’s a lot of moisture in the air. It’s really that simple.

    • @TexasFilipino
      @TexasFilipino  6 днів тому +4

      Fact is it gave many people good advice on sealing their doors and sitting them up with tolerance for swelling in humidity. If it is extremely humid when you set them them allow for shrinkage in dry season. vice versa. Don't mind how the topic came along but look at the knowledge that others gained by the topic being opened up. This is why I thank him for that comment because it provided fuel for topic.

      @@TexasFilipino. Hi James, was wondering about what finish you will put on the slab, being basically facing south?.
      I imagine the glare, from the sun, might be blinding if white for instance?.
      Pity , teak is so expensive, it a great look( is commonly used on boats!).
      Another thought I had, was to put a shallow trough along the sides, or at least the right hand side.
      Make a great place to plant salt tolerant, low growing flowering , self seeding plants, sedum for example! Regards to all. Roger

    • @TexasFilipino
      @TexasFilipino  6 днів тому +3

      His child has been in the hospital for over a week and a half. He was with the child most of that time as a "runner" for his wife. If your here in the Philippines you would know what a runner is. These videos are not day by day as some days are skipped. Mak Mak loves to work and wanted to be here. Work takes the mind off of things. I like how your first reaction is to find something to hate me for without knowing any of the facts. Sad state of affairs. Lastly how do know how I paid him? Did you see our labor log book or private conversations. Your just assuming there also. It's none of your business but we helped him with his child's situation and we did not ebeg for it on youtube. The one to be taken back is me by your actions and thoughts. Are you big enough to apologize?

    Unless people live here, they don't understand the value of a utility (dirty) kitchen! In fact, a good percentage of the houses we've been looking at don't have much of an indoor kitchen!
    Living right on the water is going to exaggerate any wood swelling, compared to where I live, 40km inland.
    Sure was a pretty, serene view of the water, until the storm rolled in 😲🌧

  • @airwess3369
    @airwess3369 6 днів тому +1

    Surprised you didn't make your own cabinet doors since you got the Kregg pocket screw jig. They're super easy to make with those. Biggest trick is to make a wooden jig when clamping because that last 1/16th of an inch of tightening the screw it wants to walk the wood out of alignment and the vice clamps alone wont hold them in place. Only downside is the holes are easy to see after filling in if you stain the inside as well. I just bondo them in and paint over and you can't see them. If you only want to stain then Kregg also makes a dowel jig so you make your own plugs and the grain matches better.

      build my own casket and lay down in it. Sitting on our butts is not mine or Mel's style. We both are so hyper. We can't be doing nothing. I will begin building a 50% native 50% modern catamaran and enjoy the process at my own pace. Even if it never sees the water while I am alive I will enjoy the motions. If I do live to enjoy it even better.
