FUEL Series 30 Min Dumbbell FULL BODY TEMPO Workout | Day 14

  • Tempo… it’s going to be a fun 30 minutes! Slower-paced reps, isometrics, movements requiring explosive drive and others more momentum and plenty of ‘deadstop’ movements involving control to lower, a temporary release of muscular contraction before bracing & driving through the movement!
    For this session, you will need some dumbbells, your mat, a yoga block/small stepper/wedge to elevate heels and also that front foot during lunges.
    A box is also used during this workout for step ups so an alternative is a stepper or stable chair to step onto. Every step up is bodyweight so you won’t be holding a weight.
    The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 2 x 15kg each. I also use 1 x 10kg for the shoulder pressing!
    The timer will be on for 30 seconds per exercise within each superset so essentially 60 seconds of work before a 20 second rest!

    Am I the only getting crazy fit with this series 🔥😳? Not only having a big impact on muscular definition but also on cardiovascular endurance. Summer wasn't ready for fuel ⛽!! Outstanding work on this one Caroline !!

      Yes! I haven't worked out seriously in a few years, but this is massively increasing my energy and strength. I hiked a very intense waterfall trail over the weekend and killed it! 💪

    I was feeling so tired today I figured there was no way I could train. I pushed myself though, because doing these videos with Caroline always seems to make everything better. Did it with 10 KG when regularly I would have used 15 KG but made it all the way to the end and feel restored and with more energy that say, lying on the couch taking the day off. Caroline you are so the best, I love you!

Step ups were amazingly intense on the quads and glutes and hamstrings. 30sec may sound easy, but with tempo - wow, heart pounding and sweating.     Tempo training is always so interesting to do...and it’s a while since we’ve done it...so I think we will have a really fun Friday full body session today! And we get to do step ups too!       Yes totally agree these are fun to do as well as intense and leaving us sore. Today I am taking rest day after doing day 10 yesterday last week I didn't take rest day after restarting this again . I just listened to my body . Enjoy your workout and have a nice weekend...

      Morning, Matthew! I agree. Tempo training is superb for mind and muscle connection and in top of that it is always interesting and fun to do. After a rest yesterday I was rearing to smash this one. What a session. From the deadstop chest press which totally pre-exhausted me, I knew this is going to be an intense one. Push ups were hard after that. Step ups has quckly became my favourite and I enjoyed them to the maximum. They provide such a good burn in quads and glutes. I didn't look at the description box before and during shoulder press I thought how fun it would be to include snatches- careful what you wish for 😅.
      The finisher was crazy. The first round of slow squats was fine but the last 15 sec of the second round was pain in the ass. But I am so proud that I could manage both squats and push ups for 45 sec. Deadbug abs were enjoyable.
      Time to rest now. Dumbbells and burpees are just around the corner👀

    I really enjoyed that one. The workouts are actually starting to feel a little easier.....not easy by any means but I feel like I can get through them now without dying. At first I thought I must be doing something wrong but today it dawned on me that they might be easier because I am in better shape now. Thanks Caroline!!

    Wednesday’s glute workout has been my favorite!! I got to admit bridges are not my favorite 😬 so I really enjoyed the other options we had with Wednesday’s workout. Thank you Caroline for the variety! Today’s workout looks great also. I love doing step ups!!

    I absolutely love these shorter workouts like in the IRON and FUEL series. My body also appreciates the two recovery days. I think I get 'done' a lot during rest :)
    I wonder, Caroline if you could come up with a series of workouts that use travel-friendly equipment only, such as glute and resistance bands. I am on the road for long stretches at a time and have no access to a gym or dumbbells. So these kinds of series of workouts would be ideal for all the nomads out there.
    Anyways, thank you for the great quality workouts and for kicking our butts :)

    I started following caroline just a few weeks ago with the iron series. Now I'm working my way through fuel. I am getting stronger and lifting heavier than I ever thought possible! It's crazy!     Another great session 👏 surprisingly the Deadstop Press followed by the Press were the most taxing using 20kg DBs. Those Set-ups were great as a mini staple and really enjoyed the shoulder section. Finisher was great nice to get another go at the slow Push-up which showed me O need to get back to practicing my pushup holds. Happy weekend everyone.

    Really enjoyed this mornings workout. My favourite was definitely the snatches. I can see an improvement in strength; I used 10kg for the single arm upper body moves and the snatches which usually I would've opted for 8kg. Felt amazing. It's the Little things ✨️

    Such an intense full body session today with an amazing variety of exercises! When I got to the finisher my muscles were already depleted :D; my last slow push-up wasn't as slow as Caroline's, but was slow enough for how fatigued I was at that point. Thank you, Caroline! This was awesome! Wishing everyone a wonderful Friday and weekend when you get there!

    The variety of the fuel series has been amazing! The workouts are fun and the time flies by. I feel accomplished and fantastic after each one! Like Caroline has said before... if you could bottle up that feeling when you've completed a challenging workout 😊

      Hi Jenny...I’m the same with momentum rows...it feels like I don’t have the dumbbell under proper control! I often just do ordinary rows instead! I really loved thus too...I loved the tempo changes and I always enjoy step ups! Have a great weekend! Matthew

    Super sets ! Full body Friday are often my favourite workouts - this sounds interesting with some tempo play. Have a great workout everyone and congratulations to us all for getting here the third full body of this series! Right time to put that coffee on and get my towel I’ve a feeling this one is going to get a little sweaty - the heat in London is already climbing ! 🥵

    Congratulations on completing Day 14 !!!!!!
    A small little update - I wore one of my old t-shirts today for today's workout, and notice that it was a little tight around the shoulders and shoulder blades and biceps, and that made me so happy and more motivated to workout today because I realized that even though I may not be able to see it, my body is definitely changing and getting stronger.
    So don't lose hope if you do not see any visible results instantly, I promise your body is getting stronger and healthier.

    Day14 Smashed! Awesome Sesh! Loved the tempo, variety, staple, rows, snatches, finisher... Toughest were the half rep Step-ups and Finisher. Oof... Legs and Arms were shaking. Also did the add-on 12min. Deadbug DB Ab wo where limbs and chest still shaking. Feeling Great after! 🤩

    Edit: All finished!! Endorphins through my body are crazy! Most sweat of all the FUEL workouts so far! Killer Finisher! This is Caroline's challenging level! I'm so proud for finishing especially today! A good shower right now. I managed 12.5 KG and x1 10 KG which I am super proud of! With Quality over quantity, you can do it!!

    Day 14 done !!! The volume this week is amazing ! I have been tracking my volume to see how well I do and I have been doing progressive overload .
    Week 1 - Volume 33,189 lbs - Average workout time was 43 minutes ( I was taking a lot of breaks )
    Week 2 - Volume 32,893 lbs - Average workout time was 38.8 minutes ( Not taking too many breaks and I pushed myself more)
    Week 3 - Volume 33,966 lbs ( I have not even done day 15 yet) - Average workout time - 38.75 minutes
    I love your workouts Caroline !!! Thank you so much !!!
