When ever a guy is having a not so great day. A VGG video comes by and turns that day right around.
Brings a guys day right around "hand gesture" 😅😅
Does it not make you feel a little weird inside when you try yo talk like the dude? I mean its so unique where nobody else has ever been like buddy before so its not like its not obvious. Is just odd, like when old white guys try to act all black n stuff.
@@Z-Ack have you ever watched AvE's videos? Compared to him, Derek has an immaculate speech ;D
@@Z-Ack I've been bitten by that bug and now EVERYTHING is a "make-it-happener"...
Yep takes the mind off the crazy world
Derek, Most important things I have learned on all your videos is that it is OK not to be perfect and mistakes will be made. In either case simply move forward.
That's one of the things which sucks about the TV garage shows. Every single bolt always comes off. Everything fits and they are done in 30 minutes.
Well a guy was about to go finish some house projects, but now I got my peepers hooked RIGHT in. Been waiting for some more on this truck.
I stumbled across your channel whilst recovering from covid here in England. I’ve now watched hours and hours of your stuff and love what you do! You are one of the funniest guys on UA-cam and Your road trips all over the US really make me want to do a big drive myself. Keep up the good work, John from UK
Make sure you watch the one where he uses alcohol laden starting fluid to get a long dead motor running . After he opens the hood and finds a big wasp nest he immediately squirts the starting fluid and lights it with his lighter he barbecued the shit the shit out of those wasps he named that one “the Dewaspilskator-2000J”
"No special tools required" ... Step 1: Disassemble entire vehicle ...
Amen brother preach it, the only thing he didn't do that I would have done was remove the steering wheel and column cause I installed them in cars to the tune of 91 an hour at Pontiac Motor DIV. GM. back in 75 just for the nostalgia . NO...... NOT
Is buying the wrong color paint for the for the firewall a mandatory step or can I just go straight to the the Black?
@@bmacd2112 It's optional, but it adds 2.48 horsepower...
To be fair it takes very few tools to disassemble that truck.
These trucks are built like Lego kits with bolts. You can remove that entire front clip with nothing more than 3 box end wrenches out of a $20 Father's Day special toolbox if you wanted, nothing about what he did to prep for this install was difficult
One thing I have learned from VGG is that you get in there and get er done, even if you can't do it perfectly. Thanks for that Derek!
Love to see that you’re wife helps out on these things. Most guys dream about this!
I'm sure that you're sure of your mistake.
I work on mine to get away from my wife.
Jessica’s a doll, none so fine… 🥰🇷🇴🇬🇧👍🏻
Nice!! I just unboxed a Vintage Air unit and will be putting into a 62 Chevy C20! Great to see a similar installation!
Is it heat and ac?
@@guntherbrauner1940 it is, still haven't gotten around to installing it though! Can't seem to find the time with all of the other projects.
It's good to see the chevy getting some love. It's been awhile.
Just put vintage air in my 67 c10 and was very impressed on the directions and ease of installation.
Have to admit, it’s good seein a fella back workin on this ol rig, but it’s excellent to see Lady Jessica back in the fellers videos 🤠🤘🏼🤠🤘🏼🤠🤘🏼
Please don’t ever give up doing these videos. I’m in the uk and every video has been a joy to watch.
I had the pleasure of meeting and talking cars with the owner and founder of Vintage Air, Jack Chisenhall, at SEMA 2019. You would be hard pressed to meet a more down to earth or nicer car guy than Jack. Great products from one heck of a good guy. Derek and Jack would talk for days about working on cars.
"Cheek Poker." Anyone who has spent time behind a wire wheel can relate to that!
For me it's more like a T-shirt grabber and winder. Also had to pull a bunch of those little wires out of my feet if I walk by the workbench barefoot.
Amen to that.
That's what face shields are for.
@@alwaysopen7970 Thanks for the info! I had no idea. And boots protect your feet and toes, helmets protect your head and gloves protect your hands and fingers, right?
I always appreciate how simply you break things down. You've saved me a lot of money because I've expanded the amount I'm "willing" to work on and greatly increased my confidence.
Im inspired ...(more like shoved) to take on more stuff than normal "mantenance."
@@mikepraed4623 same. I don't feel the same trepidation I used to since I joined this channel
Love that old School Dash with upgraded controls and gauges! Sweet Ride Derek!
You do a great job of balancing instructions and dialogue with time lapse stuff… keep up the great work!
Great to see Jessica helping out again - what a satisfying upgrade on this awesome truck
If my wife worked on vehicles like that I'd love her twice as much.
a feller sure knows how to keep his topics new and interesting.
And also he does great work and makes me laugh many many many times! This Feller is a real cool guy
@@MrCrazyking81 COOL GUY AND A/C AR AR AR AR
He finally found his calling, he was a horrible boss and a total douche..lol
@@amdath84 I'm guessing you may have worked for him at one point? He seems real cool on camera! At least you still watch his videos.
@@MrCrazyking81
Yeah...why the hate?
Nice work Sir! It's nice to see the wife helping out. A family that fix's together sticks together!
Been wanting to see more work on the old '74 and dropped right before lunch? Pure gold.
That's awesome Derek I love this truck and build! That looks really simple to install and looks so much cleaner! Those gauges are sweet to!
"Sight being behind a guy" at the paint scene got me
Hey brother. I'm loving the channel!!! A ton of us up here in Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦 watch your channel religiously. Could you please do a series of you finishing the white Cadillac you pulled out of the field. I'd love to see it restored and painted so that it on perfect running condition. It's a great old car and deserves to be restored. I guarantee it will get you a ton of views and likes!!!!👍👍👍. Thanks Derek🙂. Keep up the great content
I quit my job to watch this video. Worth it
I skipped court to watch to the end. Probably going back to county now. No regrets.
You dont make me laugh out loud that often but “put it on recirculate my bad foot smell” got me
got me to lol
Vintage Air for years it's been a great value investment for older cars.
Specially as more traffic on the road and sitting in traffic keeps it nice and cool without overheating.
I sure do like your content Dereck , this is by far one of the best channels and one of the reasons I’m moving back east. People are just better in the middle of America . Y’all rock and I hope to be more like y’all.
Nice clean install, looks great. Good point on the economics of replacing the whole system.
Thanks David
I just did one of these in a 1978 K20 that came from the factory as a non A/C truck. Awesome kit. Fits in the truck very well and works great
Yup got that done too. Perfect. Keep up the good work Derrick.
With cars going electric, guys will be watching your videos for a hundred years to keep things running. Good job.
mind bottling how VGG always has the best music.
Indeed. googled the track and bought it from Amazon D/L
Track is... They Fall - Break the clock
Wish all the music was listed in the description
@@jamesoutlaw2043 Oh, I've always wished that!, fella has always had some killer tracks going right back to the start!. Obviously has a FINE taste in music.
Yeah, some killer jams on VGG. 🤘
@@jamesoutlaw2043 I've been streaming it to my TV, and keeping Shazam on standby lol
Great Video!!! My wife and I love all your content. Keep it coming!!! Thanks!!
This is going to be an awesome weekend! Got my cold snack, there is a new special from The Grand Tour, going to pickup a parts engine this sunday and to top it off VGG has a brand spanking new video! Cheers.
I was just talking with my neighbor about vintage air. I have a 73 stepside 3 on the tree with a not so much horse 250. I didn't realize how much is involved. Doesn't look to bad. Great video. 👍
This guy just knows how to put a fella in a great mood! Loved the video!
god bless you and your family, getting all this old iron back on the road.
Fellers, it's always a great idea to go that xtra step when fix'n on your rig. Vacuum out the floorboard, clear the bugs off their windshield. Customers notice these little bits. And it only takes a couple minutes!
Vintage Air is great stuff , I used them when I put a GM LS engine in my 68 Cougar. One phone call to them and they supplied me with all the part #s this fella needed. 👍
WOW! Was cruising the UA-cams and look at this gem I found!!
I’ve used these setups before they are a great product with great customer support.
After years of watching VGG, I still laugh at his likeness to Red Green.
So happy to see the truck build series kicking into gear, all those pieces a guy has been stacking up for a long time finally get to come together and make an amazing going to town rig
Gonna be the coolest tow rig ever when it’s done. No pun intended
This is gonna be a cool build. Excited to see some progress on her.
Morning Derek!!! Cool Vintage Air AC video!!
God Bless!!
That’s going to be a awesome rig when it’s done.👍
I've done dozens of these kits there easy to install and work very well.
I'll tell ya a guy was starting to go into withdrawals waiting for a new video, as always I liked it, thanks and keep them coming
I’m hooked, picking up a 74 GMC Sierra Grande next week, thank you for the videos and the inspiration to finally build my own square body. 🇺🇸
I should probably go do some yard work instead of watching this, nope , it’s fine
Love seeing progress on all the projects. Ready kick my cancer’s tail so a guy can get his LSX S-10 going. Thank you for the videos and keeping my spirits high during my treatments VGG! Fan forever!
A guys faster than a fat kid tackling chocolate cake on this one😂
Unless it’s “Fuffy” the comedian LOL 😂 🤣😂🤣
I told my wife 2 years ago when I first started watching you that you're either going to be on roadkill or have your own show you're there buddy good job
As a kid I was told Chevrolet stood for Can Hear Every Valve Rattle On Long Extended Trips
Can Handle Every Vehicle Right Or Left Every Time
That was probably taught to you by Ford guys. Ford: Found On Road Dead
@@CattleRustlerOCN I was told by a guy "fixed or repaired daily"
Yeah like the rear struts on my Grand Am. Oh wait that's Pontiac. Well they use the same parts anyways 😂🤣
Not true at all, but you can bet those Fix Or Repair Daily pieces of junk is the truth. Chevy's Rule.
I don't think you could find a better assistant than Jessica ! She doesn't seem to be afraid to do anything and appears to be very capable
That's waaaaaay too neat of an installation, it looks like factreeee, it's sure makin' a fella nervous now!
A fella and a fellette make a great team along with the little fella that takes care of the fella that came to collect the jack!
Who's Jack?.
Great job Derek, I put Vintage Air in my '71 C10 with "Factree" air for the same reasons. Here in Tucson A/C is not a luxury, it's necessary to support human life!
Derek I owe you an apology, like many I came across your channel In the suggestions box. I would watch a couple of minutes and think this guy is off his head. The number of subscribers you have can't be wrong! Once taking the time to watch a complete episode i now understand. Sir you are a genius, love the channel. I know nothing about 🇺🇸 cars being from the UK but I'm hooked. Love it.
Nice to see that rig comin together Derk and the Mrs helping some.
You'll all surely be able to cruise unnoticed..😎
"A little too nice for a feller, but that's how Jessica wants it." Happy wife, etc ya know.
Not happy wife happy life. Happy spouse happy house. Us guys deserve to be happy too.
And she do a lot of work ..wish to have a girl like that
Pretty slick system. Gonna be a sweet ride!
a guy should learn to WAIT when Jessica is on her way to help.. Love watching her Mechanical Ability's in action too.. in any event Still an Excellent Video.. thanks for sharing..
Derek and Jessica are a lovely couple. A guy probably thinks she’s hot which is why the AC is rocking.
@@MotoRestoFL i won't deny any of that statement BUT she's the ultimate woman.. She cuts, welds, grinds that i've seen on top of the normal woman skills of cookin, cleanin, and properly Raising them little ones.. BOTH are perfect Role Models for parenting AND Auto Repairs..

I love that crew cab we need more square body videos 👍👍
Man, a guy sure has easy access for this with that big rig. How good are you to know what to clear out before you even had the instructions?
Easy, he just cleared out everything that might be in the way!
Wow, this is way easier than I thought it would be. Looks awesome!
"I've cut too many corners and had some regrets" (5:50) sounds like the title of a hit country song... Love it!
Sounds like the title of my autobiography.

Thanks for the video! I always want a classic for a daily driver. The thing that usually stops me is NO AC! This was a really useful video. Like all your stuff though. Keepem coming!
The new hvac install looks good. Since the front end is empty I wonder what motor and transmission will be installed at a time in the furture?
BB I hope 🤞
Favorite channel, hands down!
A feller has been following this build since before airbags came out in cars...
Nope, but it has been...a while
Anywho, keep it up, 98.273% looking forward to seeing this rig get cookie tested.

It's gonna be a going to town rig once you've finished it Derek .
Great video Tons of space saved nice work Derek @ViceGripGarage
It’s the perfect show truck, new modernized tech on a ol truck gives it a new look!
Did puddin fab shop asked you to borrow your floor jack?
Nice work and great video. Great how they can make such a compact unit and make it easy to install. Be safe and stay well.
Derek, that bratwurst without the cheese couldn’t been a mortal error. Thank God you survived.😂
Hmmm....I've never had Bratwurst with cheese. I'll do that today!
@@andytaylor1588 doesn't matter. All brats are great.
Watching your catalog of videos (as I may be doing in binge fashion) is so nice. I know very little about cars so seeing your auto yard, fixes, and the condition of cars is like looking at a kickass library when you can't read BUT I'm on board for it. Maybe one day I'll "learn how to read" and be fluent in Sparkalator 📖😊
Curious with that being the crew cab how many BT of U’s the more compact unit will provide. Give us a 1 to 10 later on comfort level with family aboard on a hot day.
The vintage air in my 52 chevy 3100 is barely adequate for that tiny cab.
@@mitchelpinion1852
Yikes! That's not good to hear...
Yeah, I'm thinking he's going to be a little disappointed... That's a big space to cool and that's a tiny little unit that went in...
I was wondering the same thing. I would think they have to size them somewhat close though - you spend that money and get poor cooling - not happy.
The old crew cab square body is looking great ! Glad to see it back on the channel and closer to driving it 👍☝️👊
Had a ‘76 Crew cab dully camper special, 454, same burnt Orange body but with a kind of a butterscotch roof and side accent panels. It was 2 years old when we bought it and had 46000 miles on the counter. Drive it it for 10 years and traded it off for something.a little more economic on the gas.I paid the fellow who I bought it from almost double what he originally bought it for and when I sold it after 300,000 miles I got more then what I paid for it. It is as a great truck, loved every mile of it.
The words of wisdom: "That's how the lady wants it, and that's how it's going to be."

@@gailynbrock5204 Only the right lady can get a guy to say something like that. heh.
Great piece of work! Can’t wait to watch next segment!
"No one puts gloves in there anymore." Me, "That's where I left my gloves!"
Beginning of every winter. They are always hiding in the glove box of my truck. And I normally forget that.
Awesome video 👍👍👍👍👍...
Glad to see the square body CHEVY getting worked on...!!!!
As usual, I come for the comedy and stay for some learning. Just spent $1,800 on getting the AC fixed in my van but, it's a cool ride now.
“Over the Top” greatest movie in the history of the Universe.......go Sly.
Come on ! . Siscal , Ebert only gave it one star. It wasn't even the 5th best Sly movie....but I'm diggin the enthusiasm...
Dude. Over the top was the greatest movie in cinematic history. That brand new truck and the truck driving in general inspired me to be a truck driver. Through becoming a truck driver, I also developed massive muscles in my right arm (loneliness). I'm heading in for the arm wrestling circuit next.
Will always be a underrated movie!!!

So a guy got his femur snapped in a car accident back in December and had to have surgery. I found your channel while laid up from that and every time I hear your intro song it brings me back. Your channel really got me thru a crappy few months! Great stuff!
i had a vintage after market ac in a 65 buick skylark it sat on the floor between the drinker and the captain it blew ice chips clear to the back window the best ice maker ive ever had in a car.luv your show
Why not just make one big hole instead of separate ones in the firewall since the block off plate covers everything anyway

Seen this truck in the background of many a vid great to see it progressing, love the era and design with the wood grain gonna be the dream rig once finished.
How's a guy so worried about the air conditioning when the old truck doesn't even have an engine?
