Hmm, well he’d be more reasonable and concerned with the wellbeing of humanity, so no plots to unleash the grail mud on the world, but he’d also be wiser with age, so it would be harder for Tokiyomi to manipulate him.

You know what's really funny? One of the most favorited/bookmarked/liked posts on Pixiv is actually a fanfiction retelling of what would have happened in the Fifth Holy Grail War if Sakura had summoned *Douman* instead of Rider. Rider still shows up, summoned by someone else, but this is a retelling of Heaven's Feel where Douman highlights and encourages Sakura's darker side.
Unrelated, but there's a written fanfic where Shirou summons King Hassan instead of Saber. One of my favorites.

I can imagine the shit show that would happen as a result of Limbo participating in the Fourth Holy Grail War. Oddly, I feel that Gil would hate him with a passion or they would be as thick as thieves.
If I were to write it under the same conditions that you have laid out I would think that Douman would target Shirou as the Lostbelt King and slowly molding him into an autonomous weapon of sorts, that serves as a Hero of Justice à la Mind of Steel Shirou. And, have the whole scenario be about Shirou regaining his humanity after essentially becoming a Divine Construct.
Honestly I can see a Young Shirou, especially this one, actually be a Pseudo Servant Vessel of HinoKagutsuchi given their similar “origins” and how it’d fit Douman’s plan.

Now THIS would be a LostBelt I would 100% enjoy fighting through / participating in. The stakes feel WAY higher, and Ashiya is much more the “big bad” he was made out to be from the outset of the prologue and the beginning of the LostBelts.
