    I’m assuming lexus or whatever company reached out to UA-cam and told them you were affiliated with them and had your channel deleted from the blue image in your work shirt? Anyhow, I’m glad you didn’t give up. Your channels and videos were being searched. Just glad it happened earlier than later. Kinda like a problem when working on a car. Hi Viktor, I panicked when went to my link for your RX350 brake video and saw that your channel was shut down! You have helped me do most of my own maintenance on my 2017 RX 350 and I didn't want to have to sort thru backyard mechanic videos to figure out how to continue working on it.. So glad that you have a new channel and that you'll be re-doing your videos. I know it's a pain, but we REALLY appreciate the work you put into these videos and how you show the part and torque values needed! Hi, love your videos and so glad you are back. I was wondering if you also have a video of how to bleed rx450h brakes? I have the annoying "barking" noise when braking at slow speeds. I bled the brakes with dot3 fluid 6 months ago and all ok after that. But now the sound is back so maybe you have some helpful tips on this as expert?

    • @Viktor_G_Automotive
      @Viktor_G_Automotive  3 місяці тому

      I do not have a video of that, but I can possibly make one someday in the future.

    • @MrTvsh2
      @MrTvsh2 3 місяці тому +1

      @@Viktor_G_Automotive , Looking forward to that ;). And you ever encountered this "brake barking" as they call it? Mine is doing it for over a year now and every owner tells me to change the ABS unit. But until now i don't have any errors on the dash and my local toyota dealer told me it's normal and it's just a matter of air in the brake lines. When i changed the brake fluid a few months ago (pressure bleeder, ignition on and brake pedal depressed), it was better for 4-5 months. But now it seems to return. Replacing the abs unit would be the last preferable scenario, especially because changing the fluid helped for a while, which should mean it's not a matter of something being broke inside i assume.

    • @Viktor_G_Automotive
      @Viktor_G_Automotive  3 місяці тому

      @@MrTvsh2 that barking noise from the actuator is very common on Toyota and Lexus hybrids. Bleeding often fixes it temporarily, but usually to fix it permanently the ABS actuator has to be replaced.

    With regards to the slider pins with the ' o ring' : does it matter whether they are on the top or bottom slider. I know you're going to say that's why you do one at a time but what do you do if the person before you didn't follow those instructions and MAYBE put them back wrong.I would think they should be the same. ie both on top or both on bottom

    • @Viktor_G_Automotive
      @Viktor_G_Automotive  11 місяців тому

      On some models the slider pins are different lengths. I can’t recall if this year RX is one of them. If they are the same length, it’s probably not a big deal if you mix them up, but if the are different length, you will run into problems, I’ve seen it happen before.

    Please make on video on removing and replacing the brake dust covers front and rear. Thanks in advance! BTW Are they attached or welded to the knuckles?

    • @Viktor_G_Automotive
      @Viktor_G_Automotive  7 місяців тому

      Hi, the dust covers are not welded on, they are bolted on. To remove the rear ones, you have to take out the rear hub/bearing assemblies and the rear e-brake components. The bearing can possibly be reused if excessive force was not required to remove it. For the front ones, the hub has to be pressed off the bearing to replace the dust shield, the bearing must be replaced as it gets destroyed in the process. I will have a video of the front coming soon, not sure when I will get a chance to do the rear, but we'll see. Thanks!

    Great work Viktor...I'm replacing the calipers now on my 2010 RX350, because the piston boots are ripped...would you recommend the replacement?...also, watching this video, I've seen the bleeder loosened to allow brake fluid to escape when compressing the pistons, so as not to force fluid backwards through the system...does sending the fluid back into the reservoir cause any harm to the anti-lock braking system? It seems like a good idea to loosen the bleeder, allow some fluid to escape, then refill the reservoir, eventually sort of flushing some fluid out...what are your thoughts on this? Thanks and great job as always sir.

    • @Viktor_G_Automotive
      @Viktor_G_Automotive  Місяць тому

      Thanks! The repair manual does not tell you to loosen the bleed screw, but you can definitely do it if you want, not a bad idea. Pushing the fluid back doesn’t damage anything, provided the fluid is replaced fairly regularly and does not have a bunch of wear particles in it. If the boot is ripped, water can get into the caliper and potentially cause the piston to seize, so it is a good idea to replace it. In practice however, I’ve seen people decline caliper replacement for a torn boot, and they often last for many more years without seizing.

    Fantastic video! I have a question: I have a 2020 RX and something very odd happened, I put my car in accessory mode, and then turned off the parking brake, and then put the car in reverse to back it out. Normally, after I hit the brakes a few times they get stiff and it is a bit harder to stop the car, but when I would hit the brakes even just a bit, even just a tap, the car would give me like some sort of power assist, and I heard a winding noise - when I took my foot off the brakes, the car rolled with no noise, and then when I tap the breaks again (ever so lightly) the car instantly gives me assistance somehow, and it slams on the brakes for me. I found this very odd so I recorded, and will post a video with the noise upon request if you have any ideas what this could have been. To make it even crazier, after I started the engine, and then went back in to accessory with the epb off and car in reverse, it acted completely normal (no assistance, no winding noise) the pedal was stiff and the car was “harder” to stop! Any input you have is greatly appreciated. I think the winding noise was coming from front passenger side of engine bay.
