Very clear video. Thanks for that. I'm missing one thing though. How to set up aspect ratio. Snes360 and Mupen run streched, Genesis looks like the original 4:3, which I would prefer. Most people have a strong preference for either option. Is there a way to change the aspect ratio?
There are a range of settings in each of the emulators. You'd need to have a play around. It's really down to what the developer managed to code for the application. Homebrew applications are mostly hobby projects.
I just put FBA Next on my Xbox 360 and I was able to open it and it scanned all the roms but I have a problem. None of the roms are showing up on the menu even though it says a number of them are available for the set. When I move over to other sets, the number changes (x number of sets available out of y) but there are still no titles showing! What am I doing wrong? It says “Showing 0 of 6047 sets [47 unavailable sets]”
That's an odd one! The idea behind this package is that it will connect everything up for you. I'd try deleting the folder from your Xbox and then re downloading and installing it. It looks like something has been corrupted or missed off from the package. The other option is to use the Mame emulation in RetroArch.
Allow me to answer this one: Fusion, the official Xbox emulator by Microsoft themselves. While select Xbox titles have been whitelisted to run just like they should on original hardware (as long as you have a 360 HDD with that partition), homebrew efforts have circumvented that emulator's white list to run ANY Xbox title to ever exist, but software behavior will vary substantially from title to title.
While using retroarch, whenever I try and load a core it instantly freezes and goes back to the main menu. I'm using the same version you are using (1.0.0.2)
Thanks for your time help and kindness but what about 3do Atari Jaguar, PS1 and 2 and PSP, Sega CD and 32x , and other Nintendo emulator s game cube, wii
There are a range of emulators for the Xbox, but again these are all developed as hobby projects by dedicated fans. It's really down to having someone willing to put in the effort to port or write an emulator for each system. Plus the Xbox has a limited processing power so PS2 etc just won't work on it. Have a look in the emulator lists to see if there's one for the system you want. Otherwise you'll need to drop onto the PC to get an emulator.
Thanks for making this tutorial! Gutted the Amiga360 rom link doesn't work... "The item is not available due to issues with the item's content." Hopefully there's another one out there somewhere!
I did it. It was a great info. My emulators didn’t automatically get added. Also when I put the path manually the covers are not there and also I cannot see any of the game demos. Did I make a mistake somewhere? I can still play the games
It's really a matter of making sure you get the files in the correct folders and making sure the emulators etc. are all looking in the correct places. If you follow the setup I used in the video you should get things clicking into place. Some of the game covers etc. need an Internet connection. Hope you get it working!
@@BytesNBits I got it to work. I manually put the file path for all the emulators. However I notice some games doesn’t work. And some games makes Xbox restart back to aurora . Is that normal?
@@shafi420 I get the same with some games. These emulators are really someone's pet project to see if they can get them working on the Xbox so we're not looking at commercial production software. What they've achieved is fantastic but will have some bugs.
@@BytesNBitsI went back and got the previous version which was same as your instructions. It works. Thanks for your instructions. So many games But there are some games that doesn’t work.
Some of the emulators have a settings file which lets you specify where it will look for the files. I think I go through editing one of the files in the video.
Make sure you have them in the right format and in the right folders. Quite a few of the emulators need the roms to be extracted from any zip or 7z file that you might have downloaded.
make sure that the version of the emulator you're using has the favourite function. If it has it might just be a bug in the code. These programs are maintained as hobby projects by the developers so don't always have every feature fully tested.
I was wondering if you could help with a new problem Pokémon emerald for GBA white screens on load up I looked up how to fix it and it says to change save to flash 122 or something similar to that , do you know how to do that on the emulator or how to fix the white screen ? Every single game I have for it works but that one and I’ve tried different downloads to 😭
I'm not sure what flash 122 is, you'd need to research that. Unfortunately some games just don't work in emulators for various reasons. This may be one of those games.
Very good video...many thanks. Is there any other links that you may know of to the FBA Next package download. I am on a speed of 100mbps, but it is telling me it will take 3 days to download the zip...cheers from Australia.
@@BytesNBits many thanks for the reply. I have now got it...THANKS...I resorted to installing a download manager, and that did the trick, as the zip file kept stalling after getting to either 2 or 3 gb's each day.
Hello, i wanted to ask how did you managed to run 0.993 version of Mupen64 on your Xbox 360 ? Because i only able to run 0.96 version. Is it because you are using a FAT32 USB ? Please explain as it is very important for me
I basically downloaded and installed the latest version I could find. Using an FAT32 USB drive was really the way suggested to install it so it all worked fine for me.
These emulators sometimes have a settings file in their folder. Make sure it's pointing at the right folder for the ROMs. If that's all OK you'll need to look around on the forums to see if anyone else is having the issue. The apps tend to be fairly self contained.
Hi ! Bob This is Mr.Big D. here , I got a 500gb drive from Amazon . I put it in the X Box 360 It see it ! its a Hitachi drive . But i did a drive check on it ! and it clean every thing off of it , Now the 360 dose not see t any more . I was trying to set it up for Xbox Games . Needs some help 1 here ! thank You !
The drive needs to be formatted in the Xbox. I think it uses its own formatting system so the drive won't work in other computers. You'll probably need to set it up again from scratch.
I think there is an Amiga emulator. You'll need to look it up for yourself. Try installing the Homebrew store - ua-cam.com/video/VDlosDULLFk/v-deo.html
Nice vid as always
Glad you enjoyed it

Which among the emulators allows playing the OG Xbox games on the 360?

Not on the 360, it does not have the overhead in power needed, They do work on Series S/X in developer mode.

where did you get the n64 game roms? it wasnt inside the folder.

Hi ! Mr.Big D. What is a 16 bite console ! is that on a 4gb as well !!!!!
16bit consoles are a range from the 1990s which used 16 bit processor chips. Your Xbox will be able to emulate these.
Can someone help me by explaining how to get the ppsspp emu running because when I start it it just reloads Aurora
I think you need to copy the game iso into the PPSSPP folder on the internal drive, but it needs to be renamed to psp.iso.

Since you only have so much space and memory, when is enough is enough? Meaning, there has to be a limit!
You're right. There's always a limit to the resources. I guess it's down to what you want to do and if it works or not.

How do you install ps1 games
It's there an emulator for the ps1. If so you'll need the bin/cue files for the game. The emulator should be able to use those.

Just use a raspberry pie
Personally, I prefer MiSTer FPGA, but as I have some spare storage on my RGH Xbox 360 why not throw some emulators+roms on there?
The Raspberry Pi will give you more and better emulation, but if you've got the XBox plugged into your TV why not use it.
