That grandfather exercise sounds like something Tony Levin would be playing on a KC album

The grandfather exercise sounds like something from Super Metroid. Closest to "Mini Boss Confrontation" I would say. I'm a fan of the sound of it.

Dude! You've been playing this thing for 3 months and have already inspired me with new approaches to melody and harmony and I've been learning the Saxophone, piano, and guitar for decades 😄👍 Great video as always!! Thanks for the insight :)

Exactly! Shawn's progress has been insane!
I've recently started with piano. As a music noob, It took me ages to memorize chords and scales, but Shawn has them down so soon.
The difference, I realized, was that Shawn practices *intelligently.* I focused on these fundamentals too late. Even tho it's a completely different instrument, looking at these videos have inspired me to start looking at the keys more efficiently too.

Thanks, Shawn, for posting this up. I'm using your videos with Markus to learn my touchstyle guitar (a Krappy Guitars model).

You do an awesome job explaining how you practiced in your switching to left handed drumming video. I'd love to see some more detail on how you practiced the exercises you've been working on rather than what you've been practicing. For instance, in the example of familiarizing yourself with major intervals and triads, what did that look like in the practice room? Did you use slow tempos, build to target speeds, 10 minutes on and 5 off, or maybe some notes on challenges you faced or your headspace when practicing?
How did you implement the exercises you're talking about in the vid?

I'd love to see a run-down of your signal chain. That tone in the drone improv is super pretty

I am glad your progress videos include music theory I am finally learning anyway. I went looking for this one, because I hadn't seen anything on the touch guitar since the 1st month. As a guitarist, I would love to be able to get a touch guitar.

@@ShawnCrowder the new version has tuning presets, I know nothing about this instrument but I could easily add a preset to set up the diagrams in the correct tuning and number of strings in one click if you can point me to where I can find the most common tunings for this instrument, I think it would be a useful addition to the app.

Listening to you play reminds me of stuff like Devin Townsends ambient jams and Chords of Orion. I highly recommend looking up ambient guitar stuff like that if this kind of musical artistry intrigues you. Chords of Orion has a facinating youtube channel dedicated to it in particular.
Also bravo on the progress so far!
