While I love the 28bore for quail, grey squirrel and cottontail rabbit, I don’t use it for dove. As 12 ga on fast and high flying dove is hard enough for me and with the super expensive price of 28ga shot shells, I won’t use them anymore on dove. But today I found a clearance sale on 28ga 7.5, Remington Express Extra Long Range” shot shells for $11 per box. They had 6 boxes left and I bought all 6! Score!!!! Usually im paying around $21 per box on 28ga.

I was shooting some cheap Fiocchi shells. They really dirty the gun, but kills doves just fine.

Good video!! I bought a tristar G2 viper 28ga. I use it for squirrel hunting. I also bought a mec 600 jr mark 5 28 ga reloader. I can find ton dove loads. But not many heavy game loads. . I did find some federal 28ga 1 oz 6 shot .

There’s some stuff for 1 Oz loads with a roll crimp, but not much. Plenty of 13/16 and 7/8 Oz data from Hodgdon though depending on your powder. I’ve been satisfied my Turkish auto, I just have to stay on top of the cleaning more frequently.

Without giving the exact location of your spot, where were you hunting? Socal desert? Western Arizona? I’m assuming AZ since you used 7.5 sized lead shot. Thanks.

Yep, western AZ. This spot is far from being great, but its close to me and there are just enough birds to keep it interesting.

Yeah the Weatherby was made in Turkey. I really can't tell the difference between all the Turkish makes and model, but likely came out of the same factory!

What chokes you using in that 28 gauge

Pretty sure this was with a MOD tube, but I can't quite remember. I recently picked up an extended light full choke that I'll probably be rolling with for some of the upcoming season.
