Ponsness Warren 375c Duomatic Reloading Press…in 32 gauge?!
Yes, you can purchase an American made reloader in 32ga thanks to the fine people at Ponsness/Warren. The 375 is a time-tested and proven design that produces awesome shot shells. Time to unlock more of the potential of the mighty 32 bore.

Finally got a ShotKam after their recent sale! First time using it and I picked my 16 gauge Beretta SxS to do the honors. The 12 gauge side by side mount worked well with an extra rubber pad for the smaller frame of the 16ga. Can't wait to try it out on live birds!

A very special hunt for me taking out my son for his first time. I shot my dad’s Winchester Model 12 who recently passed. Wish we could have shared the moment with him, but I know he was helping guide my shots (and misses!)
Dive Bombing Dove Limit 2023

Second day of the season hunting with my 32 gauge SxS for the first time ever. The flights directly over my head were insane and if I could have a do over, a short barreled 12 gauge with a cylinder choke may have been the perfect medicine. But the little 32 with its 1/2 oz payload did just fine and I limited in about 1 hour.

Been on a pump shotgun kick as of late. First started shotgunning as a kid with dad’s 12ga Model 12. Recently picked up some subgauge M12s and then a .410 Model 42 and a Model 1897. Gotta love the quality and heritage of these pieces from a bygone era.

32 Gauge Fold Crimps with OMV Smart Press

Fold crimping some once and twice fired 32ga hulls with my new OMV Smart Press from Italy. Had some initial troubles keeping it on my press as it kept falling off and it takes a little trial and error to calibrate the station heights. But otherwise pretty happy with the initial crimps. Still need to play with the final crimp to get a deeper rolled edge. I also might need to increase the RPMs on...

Single Shot 410 vs. 20 Gauge Pigeon and Dove Shoot
hi, how much is it today, thanks
The 375c is $550 USD new, but after shipping it’s really $600. You can find used ones though for about half that. But you won’t ever see a used 32ga one!
$74.99 Canadian for same box of brass🙄
The Magtech ones?
@@pc8649 yup
Name upgrade 👍🏻. New toy 👍🏻. Where do you get hulls for these odd gauges?
Thanks, it’s almost showtime! Ballistic Products actually sells new hulls for 32 and 24 gauges. But I have loaded shells too from Federal/Fiocchi that weren’t too expensive. I love the 32 if you didn’t notice, such a fun gauge.
@@pc8649 Yes, I can tell you definitely like the 32! It’s so close I can almost smell the powder from a freshly popped cap!! I’m prepared for nasty weather this year :)
Never mine….you are ready have one!!!
I don’t have the 24ga dies for it (yet). I have a single shot 24 which doesn’t see much action, so kind of hard to justify dropping $200+ for a die set. But I’d be lying if I told you I haven’t been thinking about it lol
FYI….Ponsness can make 24/32 gauge die sets
Where did you get the green hulls man?
They are older Fiocchi ammo, I don't know if they still make the green hulls. But I've picked up between 6-7 boxes between listings on GB and GI. Kind of a cool vintage look and the overshot cards are a vibrant yellow color. I am always looking for more but have literally only seen them for sale a few times.
Same guy who I bought some of the 32 from also had a few boxes in 24 gauge with the green hulls. I am kind of kicking myself now for not buying them.
Ponsness presses…..they can multiply like rabbits
Very true, if you can find them! Not nearly as common to find used as a MEC and of course you have to wait to get a new one.
Just watched this again as I’m starting to get ramped up for September. I’m convinced I will be an Arizona resident in the future! Haha. This is just stupid fun 😂
@@desertqwest I’ve had a lot of good dove hunts, but this one may have been the most intense and I had never hunted that spot before. Not necessarily the number of birds, but just being right beneath their flight path like that. It was a damn war zone! We hunted it again the next day, it wasn’t nearly as good and the were other people there, but we still got limits. We need to do Yuma sometime, I’ve never done it before but I got some buddies who could point me in the right direction. Or just follow the gunfire 😆
@@pc8649 My buddy shoots Yuma every year and it looks pretty insane! Regardless, I’d like to get out to AZ for hunt and say hello.
@@desertqwest You are welcome anytime! Opening weekend is always the best of course, just have to work harder to find them later in the season. And I’m starting to have better luck in the second season of finding shootable numbers.
@@pc8649 Second season might work well especially if I can find a spot to truck-camp and then meet up.
Very nice, brother 👍🏻 I can see getting one for myself in the future. Seems like my list keeps growing, lol. Can’t wait to see your footage this fall.
@@desertqwest It’s a cool piece of technology and I am a bit of a tech nerd. I’ve used it a couple times at the range and while I think it could be a useful training tool, it seems more valuable as a hunting camera so I am excited to finally have one! One thing is for sure, I’m done buying new GoPros for a long time, I don’t care how cool the latest one is 😆
I don't use standard wads in brass hulls. Only load those "old school" ... black powder, nitro card, fiber cushion wad, shot (bb shot), and overshot card. Then seal with wax or waterglass
I have trouble getting consistent ballistics using nitro cards and fiber wads (but with smokeless powder). I patterned a couple out of these brass hulls and they looked terrible. I’m guessing I’m not seating them hard enough.
That looks great!
Well done Brother!
Nice puddle you have there - Good looking stuff. Thanks for the Father's Day fun! I"m getting the bug already and it's only June!!😫
Dove is only 11 weeks away, be here before you know it!

32 gauge. It's a first time I've ever heard of this gauge.
It’s a pretty cool gauge, think about it like an overpowered .410. Just wish there were more ammo and reloading options.
Who’s the company that made it? My great grandfather had a box of shell around and would love to find a gun to go with them, but I know it’ll take a while.
It’s made by an Italian manufacturer, Falco Arms. Many of the Italian gun makers can build a 32 for you, but you’ll have to wait and it probably won’t be cheap. Every once in a while you will see a used single shot or SXS pop up but they tend to go fast.
@@pc8649 alright that might make it a little easier
Yup Im getting a classic side by side. Ive made up my mind
They are the best!
God damn it. I need to clean my screen. I swear it god I thought you were letting Birds go by and it's the dots on my dirty a** screen.😅
Most will not understand why we have more than one ❤😊
what are the outer and inner diameters for those shells? thank you in advance!
I’ll see if I can measure it up
Yes I’m curious too, I have an old 32ga and bought some plastic hull stuff from Graff and they are too tight, only chamber half way even with extensive polishing of the chamber.. Wondering if I need to go brass. Thanks
How did you get an orignal Win 97 thats not falling apart for $258!!!!!
I kinda lied, I had a $100 Cabela’s gift card so it was actually $358!
I just bought a winchester 97 made in 1899 with riot lenth barrel for $625
Those are beautiful shells but for $13/each that's a lot of money. I only use black powder in mine so the extra volume of the Magtech is actually a bonus and I don't cry when the BP makes them a little scuzzy.
Last day? Where u from
In AZ, late season is starting back up in a few weeks.
Good stuff, bud. Enjoy the time with your boy. He’ll remember these hunts when he’s older. Those birds got thick at dusk. I was itching to pull the trigger just watching 😂
It was pretty thick! Should have shot a limit but they literally didn’t start flying until about 20 minutes before sunset and I was an idiot and only had 1 box on me.
I used to bring my youngster out hunting like this too. Now he’s 22 and carries his own shotgun alongside me. But when they’re that young and other hunters are close by like in this video, I’d have the little rascal wearing a blaze orange shirt and clear safety glasses for the “lead rain.”
Yeah I got him some of that stuff afterwards. Wasn’t expecting anyone else out there, but always good to be prepared!
I have been at the edge of my seat waiting for your dove vid for this year! Did some 28 gauge woodcock hunting this morning!
Thanks for watching! How was your hunt? What kind of 28ga?
@pc8649 great! Grouse were impossible to see but shot a limit of woodcock with my 870 wingmaster 28
Good choice, love my 28ga Wingmaster!
I don’t remember asking you, but what camera are you using?
Been using a Gopro 8 for a while but just picked up a 12 a couple of weeks ago.
@@pc8649 Nice. I was looking into another camera and have considered the GoPro 12 and dji Osmo Action 4. We’ll see
I love it when that happens!
Nice work with the 32! That looked fun as heck at shooting time. Wishing my openers was half as good. There’s always the next time. Did you manage to get enough for another video? I just watched this from Havasu!
Yeah it was a pretty chaotic shoot, just happened to be right in their flight path. I’ve got footage from a couple of other hunts, just haven’t really looked at it yet. The GoPro really isn’t great with low light or I just haven’t figured out the right setting yet. One of them I definitely want to put together though. What video editor do you use?
@@pc8649 I’m still using iMovie but intend to switch over to Final Cut Pro eventually. Hell, I’m still learning so much that iMovie is good enough for me right now, lol. Just coming up with content to post consistently is difficult enough. Looking forward to acquiring a truck soon and that should add some potential, haha. Anyway, as always, love the hunts you’re sharing. I really would like to make it out there. It’s my kind of hunting. You know me, though….I’d find a sweet spot to make camp and make it a 5-day event, 😂 Can’t wait to see what you have planned for the next video. 🤙🏻
You are welcome any time, you seem like you can survive anywhere lol. But yeah a truck would make a huge difference. Do you have anymore vids coming out from this season?
@@pc8649 At least one from opening weekend. It’s really not much but I wanted to maximize my efforts after having my trip cut short.
That is some damn good shooting bro. We had a good opener over in Imperial Valley. Is this in Yuma?
No, this is at a dairy farm in central AZ. Have never hunted Yuma for dove, someday I’ll do it just to see all the commotion!
@@pc8649 hahahahaha. You won’t catch me over there, looks pretty crowded.
The 410 is the one that will give you a good challenge and a fun first Day shoot. Good luck and get them in close.
It did give me a challenge with that skeet choke and trying to take shots that were probably on the edge of my range, but I did manage to knock down a limit with it!
Nice! Where do you find 32ga ammo? Do you reload your own? What size shot were you using and steel or lead? I know 32ga is popular in the UK at ranges. Thanks!
It's available online at various places. I do reload for it though, which is pretty much a necessity if you want any kind of options in 32. But I was just shooting some factory 1/2 oz #8s with a short brush wad for this hunt.
Outstanding shooting Brother. Those guys were coming in low and hot!
Bro vary beautiful 32 gauge I got a rare 32 gauge twist break with vary beautiful gold and silver engraving with 24k gold triggers and beed sight
Oh wow, that sounds amazing! Who is the maker?
Gonna sit down and have dinner while watching this one. I see you’re using the 32 gauge, what load did you go with?
Ended up just using some factory .5 oz of #8s. I should have shown the box in the video, but they are some EU brand with star crimps. Fiocchi hulls. Patterns are so much better out of the 32 than the .410 that 1/2 oz is really not that much of a disadvantage.
@@pc8649 that’s awesome
I have the same case or gun holder
I just bought it off someone, it’s nice!
What??? No Remington 870 pump??😕
I’ve got 3 of them! But didn’t make the cut this time.
Since you have taken it hunting yet, Take that italian 32 ga.
Can’t go wrong with a A5, or a Marlin 55
Don’t have either, but would love a Marlin 55 in 10 gauge!
1908 Fox Philly! Great video love to see folks shooting doubles
Planning on shooting a SxS for the dove opener in a few days!
It’s gets to being “information overload” on the brain. So many dove that the brain can’t figure out which one to focus on and shoot. Been there, done that. I have a grain field in east Arizona I’m fortunate enough to get permission to hunt on every year. It’s like this video on opening day and nobody else around but me, an two other hunting buddies. We’ve been together hunting and fishing for years. Love it.
Yes! So many targets and it can actually be easier to miss. Your mind and eyes don’t know where to go. But I think that’s a good problem to have!
Love me my 28ga. I have a Wingmaster 28ga and I love that gun. I also have three calibers in the same Beretta 687 lineup… 28, 20 and most recently the 12ga. Love my Berettas o/u’s!
I picked up a 28ga WM a few months ago and sold my Express model. The Express was basically brand new, but I had to have a WM even if it was a very used one and I’m glad I did! I shoot that gun very well and it’s so slick. But a couple weeks ago I got a lightly used Beretta 690 field gun in 20 gauge and it might be my new favorite gun!
Great shooting! You couldn’t miss!!!
I definitely had some misses! But some days your shooting really comes together and that was one of them.
That is seriously cool, where did you find that? Wish mine was a double.
Popped up on GI last month. Wasn’t even looking, just good timing and I happened to see it almost as soon as it was listed. So I called immediately because I had never seen one for sale before (folding double barrel, much less in 32!)
Fr
Since when was there a fucking 32 gauge shotgun?
It’s a thing! Actually a pretty old gauge that fell out of favor long ago
Surprised I didn't see a nerf gun logo on that 😂 cool af tho
There’s also a 24 gauge both of us have one lol as well as 32’s.
@@theshotgunscientists very nice 👍 if yall ever shoot em, be sure to save the boxes, I'm sure plenty of collectors would be thrilled to get their hands on such boxes 😁
