That's why i don't like self motivational books they normalise you by telling everything is alright which is not. Revenge is a must. Not on anyone but on yourself on what wrong you have done and not to repeat that.

When you seek revenge you and power of the individual that you seek the revenge on they become part of who you are they make you do different things they make you think differently if you are getting a divorce if you’re moving on from a relationship it’s because the relationship is Rose corset it’s over so why would you continue that relationship to arguments because it’s not over

The opposite of love is not hate when I got divorced I was completely different to my ex-wife we just had to work out the issues with my child and that’s the only conversation we needed to have she couldn’t do that and no circumstances could she do that. I paid her alimony for five years, and I paid 15% above the required child support requirement
And she still called me every day arguing and wanting to change visitation I told her the only way I would communicate with her was through email I wouldn’t even take her text messages because they never ended so then I decided the only way I will communicate with her was through my new wife and I sent her all the paperwork I sent her phone numbers and emails and from that point forward everything was done to my new wife and that was only done because my new wife did not believe some of the things that she would say in her text messages or in some of the voicemails that she would send me and that’s the only way I was able to get that aspect of my life under control

Is there a case to be made for justice? Let's say a stranger attempts to kidnap one's children. Shouldn't one seek revenge in the form of retribution? Isn't ones "revenge" justified?

True... to an extent. Never underestimate the value teaching a lesson to those that deliberately wrong you. But, you're right if wrongs are accidental. The choice is whether or not you are the best person to deliver the lesson.., at a particular time. Rational Revenge. Will it bring about less damage in the long run, rather than allowing someone to continue harming others? But then, we're no longer talking about revenge, are we? We're talking about proactively dealing with a perceived, and proven threat. Semantics...

Being a stoic is good for sports, warfare, when you face adverisity but it sounds alot like being a door mat in daliy life which to a certain degree we have to be now a days because of our modern society.
Maybe thats why Marcus Arelius kept on suffering cues.
Because he was percieved as weak and had no backbone.
Thats just human nature, we seek to challenge that which is weak, but most importantly take advantage of those that are weak.
Idk I still like the philosophy it has its place, it most definitely has its place in modern society for sure though.
    Just my two sense.

Very true. I don't need to get revenge and it's easy to just suffer fools gladly and walk around everybody. But one thing I despise is envious people and frankly, I've had enough of it, so I'm in war mode each and every day and put anyone on the spot who even dears to look at me wrong or think they can challenge me. I don't need to do that but I do it for "fun", because I want to, and because they don't deserve any better. If you stand in my way, I will destroy you.

@@CC-mj3zq Of course it is. When someone does you wrong, you want to do the same to them and then some. It's the most natural feeling in the world. What finally convinced me to turn a new leaf is when I gave myself an honest chance to ponder over a question: do I want to live a life of destruction or production? Destruction is easy. It's much easier to burn something down than to build something up. Frankly, I'm just too highly productive a person to allow vengeance to ruin my life.
As cliche as it may be, the best revenge really is living well. Actually, I'll modify that a bit: the best revenge is to achieve despite everyone who served to be an obstacle.

The best revenge is actually NOT responding to petty enemies. They want you to get angry, and when you don't and forgive them instead, you win. Killing your enemies with kindness is often the best solution. Also, choose your battles carefully and never ever fight people if you don't gain anything valuable from them. Ignore the small fish and focus on the big sharks instead. Life is war, and you win by strategic long-term warfare.
