Home Free is known for their great harmonies. Adam (beatboxer) arranged this (as you heard) and he is an amazing beatboxer. The guys say that Adam’s arrangements are the most difficult. I was surprised the ice castle didn’t fall during Tim’s lows. Tim has an amazing range - 5 octaves. Try Angels We Have Heard on High, Mary Did You Know, I’ll be Home for Christmas, What Child is This, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. 😍😃
Great reaction 👍 I like homefree's full of cheer video and homefree silent night and away in a Manger. If you want a good video chris Rupp on his channel called what child is this where chris sings with all of homefree please check it out. It is a Christmas song.
Thank you for your great rxeaction to another fantastic Home Free song. Their How Great Thou Art and Austin's Bring Him Home are Amazing so if you get a chance please do these as well. Your idea for the children stuck in Hospitals is a fantastic idea anything to bring a smile to a little one. Look forward to your future reactions and your decision on starting up the gifts for the children.
A VERY rare Adam Rupp arrangement. This is a favorite Christmas song for most HomeFries. This was shot at an ice castle about a mile from my house in the twin cities MN USA. Anyone who knows Tim knows he HATES the cold. He thinks this one damn near killed him😉. It was ~ -20f. So cold even by winter MN standards. Thanks much for the great HF reactions!
Yes, southerner in the snow was great. The story of him first joining HF and trying to push their snow stuck van in slippery cowboy boots is also funny. He ends up flat on his back in the snow staring at the night sky evaluating his recent life decisions 😊 We all know how it ultimately turns out but they had some rough road years touring the upper mid-west before the sing off.
You say you enjoy Austin's voice then I truly hope you listen to Austin's solo "Bring Him Home" from the musical Les Mis. You will see really quickly just why Austin is so good with this group.
This is one of my favourites from Home Free - Adam Rupps arrangement and a beautiful performance. Try Snow Globe (written by Tim Foust the bass) or Winter Song - just beautiful.
Amazing, wasn't it? I love Everything about Home Free! If you enjoy sentimental Christmas songs, I believe you will like their " Warmest Winter " if you haven't heard/seen it. Austin had a big part in writing it and he takes the lead on it. Warning: Bring a tissue. It makes me smile and cry at the same time. Thanks for the Home Free reactions. Can't wait for more.. as someone who has lost a child I appreciate you considering a way to make the lives of children who are ill a little happier. Thank you.
This is done prior to 2016, because Chris Rupp, Adam’s brother and co-founder of the group, appears in it. He’s the one wearing a hat, and he started out singing the bass part while Tim took the lead. Chris left in 2016 to follow a solo career.
Great imagery and reaction. Wonderful idea. Adam Rupp, the Beatboxer, grows his hair out, then when he gets it cut, donates it to an organization that makes wigs for children undergoing cancer treatments.
Adam Rupp deserves some kind of award for this arrangement. Just *SO* good. The 4-octaves-in-4-seconds round mega-flex is great fun, as is Austin's quacky Strat-no-caster funk guitar line, & that Stevie Wonder -esque key twist towards the end is #ChefsKiss :) I'd love to see your thoughts in a double reaction vid to Dire Straits' "Brothers in Arms" sometime. Ideally listening to the original... then take a minute to wonder how an a capella group can cover a Mark Knopfler guitar song... then let the Home Free version wash over you... it's a *trip* !! Oh, & if you're interested in deep knowledge, then you could optionally take a look at the excellent Finnish group Club for Five doing their version of it. Tim contacted Tuukka to ask about his arrangement as he was looking to do something similar with Home Free, & Tuukka sent him the full arrangement & wished him well! Very generous imho. ;)
Hi Viking! Love your reactions! If you liked Oh Holy Night and this one then you'll really enjoy this one Home Free - Angels We Have Heard On High. It's a whole different arrangement. Have a great day!
I’ve never cared for this, found it boring and repetitive. Home Free has made me love it. I have to suggest “Angels We Have Heard On High”. Angelic Rob leads off. The arrangement, to me, is quite sophisticated and beautiful. And one that is a “hidden gem”- Home Free at the Hosanna concert 2013 singing the carol “Joy to the World “. It’s a jazzy, funky arrangement, and Gospel Rob really gets to cut loose. There’s also a beatbox breakdown that is fantastic.
Absolutely my favorite Home Free performance. Best arrangement of any Christmas song, ever. I saw them in concert last night and they sang both O Holy Night and this one. Amazing.
Some of them do have solo work Tim's "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow / Stay" is absolutely epic. Austin has a version of "Bring Him Home" that is spine tingling. The work they've done with Peter Hollens as a group and individually shouldn't be missed as well. Welcome to the Home Fries Rabbit Hole.
Great reactions to Home Free's Christmas songs! My favorite is their version of Mary Did You Know?, for simplicity of sight but a heart-steal for sure in there. I hope you will look at it too ❤
Such a wonderful change up on do you hear what I hear! I love the ice castle I love the rangement that Adam Rupp the beatboxer did! I am love the reggae type of beat to this! Sometimes I think the beat that I don’t put on the song has change the beat of my heart to match it!! This is beautiful… I love the Middle Eastern riff Austin adds in the middle! Tim singing THE CHILD in his bass brings you back to the meaning of this song!! Create a reaction to an amazing song! Merry Christmas!!
For me one of the best arranged songs, or perhaps the best, of Home Free. So impressive! The phenomenal beatboxing/vocal percussion , the overwhelming bass(notes), the great harmonies, the sound effects, colors, etc. in such a beautiful but cold scenery. I could listen and watch this all the time. A lot happens, but not that it is disturbing. Just amazing.
Enjoyed your reaction! This is my favorite Christmas carol by HF for too many reasons. Adam's arrangement was brilliant. HF sang this song when I saw them 2 yrs ago, and my ear still remembers Tim hitting that massive low note in "Gold." And Austin's angelic voice floating above the rest... 😊
I have another Home Free song for you this season. "Angels we have heard on high". I really think that you will love what they did with the harmonies on that video as well. Enjoy.
They all add their sounds to make it awesome. I've also heard Tim beatbox and once when Adam was singing Rob took over the beatboxing. They can do it some, maybe taught some by Adam, but Adam has perfected it with those drum sounds. They do call him a human drumkit.
Such an exceptional arrangement by Home Free's own wizard and incomparable vocal percussionist, Adam Rupp ⛄🪄🎄 And such a nice treat to hear Chris Rupp's smooth baritone getting some focus❣️🎼🥰🎶♥️ #HomeFree #HomeFreeDoesChristmasBest
Please keep us posted on your idea for gifts for children in long term care. What a wonderful idea. Home Free is known for their charitable causes. Enjoying your channel more and more with every reaction, thank you for the joy.
Do not apologize. It wasn't just a rant. It was a very thoughtful idea. Bless you from one who was once a child in the hospital for far too long, herself. I hope it comes to be a reality for your child and for others.
Have you heard the old expression freeze the balls off a brass monkey? A brass monkey was the pyramid of cannon balls stacked beside the cannon. Home Free has a cover of 'Mary Did You Know' if you need another Christmas song to react to and haven't done it yet.
This is an amazing version of this traditional song. Yes, Austin does help with the beat with the guitar in two different places. I truly enjoy watching your reaction to these guys. Your idea for the kids is an absolutely amazing thing.
What was that before you started 😮? This is completely different from what I used to hear from Home Free, but I do like it. Also agree that Austin nailed it, but without Tim,'s bass it couldn't work.
Hi Viking really enjoy your reactions. I'm not religious but love Christmas carols, my personal favourite is silent night in German l had to learn this at school for a show and still remember it,that was 57yrs ago,
I love Homefree and everything they do! I’m also a massive Dan Vasc fan, so your reactions are right in my lane! There is a live performance (in Phoenix, 6 years ago) from the group “For King and Country” performing Little Drummer Boy that you ABSOLUTELY have to include in these advent days as well! It is awesome!
I really hope that you are able to go forward with the children idea. I'm greatly looking forward to being able to participate in that. HUGELY WONDERFUL REACTION to this (my very favorite Home Free song). I watch it off and on, all year 'round. Thank you VERY much. I can hardly wait to see what the next day holds. 😀 Edited to Add...Adam is my favorite beatboxer, also. I think it's because he LIVES in the music. It's so very much a part of him. That's me, too. Music is a hugely ESSENTIAL part of me. I think that's why you like his work. In this one, the whole thing came out of Adam, since it's totally his own arrangement. Just so wonderful!
The singing & harmonies (of course) are terrific and Adam's arrangement of the sing & his beatboxing are simply outstanding! Adam & Rob are both from Minnesota, so this was their home turf. BTW, they all can beatbox (not to Adam's extent of course). Watch their videos "9-5 Beatboxing Breakdown", "Joy to the World Hosannah" and "Mayday Live" - all 3 are mind-blowing.
Just love your warm taught for all the kids who have to spend their childhood in hospitals. Viking, you are spreading kindness and I truly thank you for that.
Hi Viking, thanks for reacting to this great performance by Home Free. They sing it so well. I was at their show in Utrecht last september, it was amazing
Absolutely amazing. Thanks Viking. I am sending this to my daughter. She likes punk music. 🤣. I am such a mean mother😊 I will convert her one of these days. ❤ from a 🇨🇦 Grammy
You reacted to the top two of my favorite HF Christmas songs from a ridiculously LONG list. These two songs are so different yet still just breathtaking. Thanks the reaction was amazing. ❤
What a wonderful heart you have. Besides your Home Free reactions which I love, you are a wonderful soul. I subscribed because of that. I most often only listen to Home Free reactions and I look forward to many more from you. We Home Fries love it when creators begin to go down the rabbithole of Home Free's talent. Thank you.
Awesome reaction. These guys are SO talented that I really enjoy hearing someone really appreciate them. Each one is a great talent then all together they are phenomenal.
I absolutely love your idea of giving to children in a long-term care for illness. It is a very generous thought, and I would love to stand behind it. I do home health and I know that children do tend to need those things even more in facilities where they may, by necessity, be separated from some of their siblings or friends while they are getting treatment. I love that someone is thinking of them, especially at this time of year. I wonder what Home Free would think if they knew they had inspired such a thought. Anyways, I loved your reaction to this video and have to agree that they picked the perfect spot to record the song s it just fits the song so well. Wow are they good!!!
Love Home Free and have for 10 years!. This is one of my favorite Christmas songs of theirs! It’s such a cool arrangement (yes, Adam did a very fine arrangement)! I can see that you really think highly of their talent! I believe I will subscribe after leaving my comment!
This was an older one with Chris Rupp. I miss him. He was amazing. I love Adam Chance, who replaced him, though. Chris is Adam's (the beat boxer)'s brother.
Also - Please do not apologise for the "side topics" like that. First of all - it's your content and so it's your right. Second - It's a very noble and up to time side topic - possibly the best of possible topics.
Yes the sound is chilly in my head as well, the reverb off the ice really adds too the overall impact of the music. I hope your family is well, when you’re ready I’ve got something for your charity efforts. ❤❤❤😊
Please don't feel like you have to apologize for going off on tangents! I just consider it part of the reaction--what thoughts the music sparks, where your mind goes with it, that kind of thing--and I very much doubt I'm the only one who enjoys them. (Plus, you ain't got nothin' on Mortius. 😂) And I think your idea is wonderful. It pretty much exemplifies what I love about your reactions (aside from just having a really good ear and picking up/pointing out things that many other reactors tend to miss); your comments are always insightful and it's clear you put a great deal of thought into what you say and how you say it, and you stay respectful of both the artists and your audience. (I have what I call an overly sensitive cringe reflex, and you've never once set it off. It's such a relief to be able to just relax and enjoy the video without feeling like I have to brace myself, and I can't even begin to tell you how rare that is, particularly with male reactors.) I kind of feel like you're a kindred spirit, despite being a complete stranger who lives halfway across the world, and that's a really cool thing.
Thank you for your reaction! If you want a fun Christmas song that doesn't get much viewing try "What Christmas Means to Me". A Home Free cover of a Stevie Wonder song.
If you watch Tim , he usually gives away where he is going with the bass with his right hand , Thank you , great reaction !!
This is my favorite Christmas song from Home Free!!
Home Free is known for their great harmonies. Adam (beatboxer) arranged this (as you heard) and he is an amazing beatboxer. The guys say that Adam’s arrangements are the most difficult. Anyone who knows Tim knows he HATES the cold. He thinks this one damn near killed him😉. It was ~ -20f. So cold even by winter MN standards.

That;s what happens when a Texas boy comes North in the winter.
Southerner In The Snow was hilarious!
Yes, southerner in the snow was great.
The story of him first joining HF and trying to push their snow stuck van in slippery cowboy boots is also funny. He ends up flat on his back in the snow staring at the night sky evaluating his recent life decisions 😊
We all know how it ultimately turns out but they had some rough road years touring the upper mid-west before the sing off.
Funny how he can't stand the cold, but still stands there, coat open and no scarf. 😂
Suffering for his art😉
Adam's arrangement is absolutely genius 👏. Home Free. The best of the very best

I really like them too. Most especially Austin Brown.
Did you see PTX just released a MV of their cover of O Holy Night? It's beautiful
The setting and arrangement of this is gorgeous.

They can all beatbox to some extent. Austin was doing the guitar sounds.
Aaand so the Xmas playlist has been actualised. Thank You. ♥
Great reaction Home Free is the group the more you learn the more you like them.
Saw them perform this LIVE at their concert last night (December 9, 2023) and there was barely any difference compared to the video!!!
I hope the concert was great. I’ve seen them 7 times so I chose to see The Blenders in Mpls instead. The Blenders also put on a fantastic show.
Love ur reaction ❣️ Got to check out Home Free covering "How Great Thou Art" it is awesome. #homefries

Have never liked this song before. Home Free does this to me all the time. Revelatory.

My favorite Xmas song by Home Free……and Pentatonix Mary Did You Know. Chills all day and tears runneth over
My favorite arrangement from Home Free. Adam needs to step up with another.

Well Mr. Viking, my personal favorite Home Free Christmas song has to be Mary Did You Know...Best of the Season to you & yours!
This is one of those songs that you hear something new everytime you listen to it!

This was an older one with Chris Rupp. I miss him. He was amazing. I love Adam Chance, who replaced him, though. Chris is Adam's (the beat boxer)'s brother.
Love #HomeFree ❤, Great Reaction
Whoever produces their videos, is a genius. So many of their videos are PERFECT like this one. Great reaction, as always. Happy Holidays to you, sir.
I think Chris has said that it was 20 degrees, and it was the warmest day!
Brilliant 👏 #HomeFree 🎄🎅
Enjoyed the reaction and thoughts

You should do “How Great Thou Art” it’s so good.
I am glad that you love Home Free but please may I ask you to listen to them singing Mary Did You Know It will wander into your soul ......
New sub for more Home Free!!! Great reaction
Thank you for your reaction! If you want a fun Christmas song that doesn't get much viewing try "What Christmas Means to Me". A Home Free cover of a Stevie Wonder song.
