Dan transforms this song from a 'pretty carol' to a fierce testament to God's power. I can hear in my head the cadre of angels roaring this from the heavens!
Great comments, brother! I also greatly enjoy what Dan did to this song…the various languages, the key changes, the intensity, the fullness of sound vocally and musically….I love the kettle drum rumbles!!!! The final note Dan hits is POWERFUL!!!! I love everything Dan brings!!! Thank you so much for doing these amazing videos!!!! Have a glorious, joy-filled day!!! 👏🏼😁
Doesn't get any better than that right Viking thank you for hanging out with all of us and playing dance music I love to hear him sing in a different language
Did you ever wonder what the angelic choir sounded like on those hills around Bethlehem that night? Well now you know. You didn't know archangels sing metal? Dan just proved it.
How beautiful, strong and meaningful this is!! It is as Michael himself were walking on the Earth - with his wings of Light folded over his shoulders, speaking in all the languages of men, leading a choir of angels in praise. The entire video was designed to give this impression. He sang in the 4 natural languages of most of his fans, so that the "message" would reach as far as possible. The choir (Latin and Portuguese) was made by superimposing 60 voice channels. What a magnificent work!! Thank you for your reaction. Hugs from Curitiba - Brazil 🇧🇷
I think he sang it perfectly. Four languages with his native language right before the english. Italian, German, Portuguese and English. Dan is so good!! ❤
Hi Viking! Great reaction, man. Listen ADESTE FIDELIS is more power. And FOR ALL ( Roy Khan ). Is so beautiful. Listen to what Dan speak at the end.. ❤ Rio-Brazil
I want to listen Dan´s powerful , beautiful voice this christmas. Dan said in a chat : im coming for Christmas, and christmas comes with me !! Can´t wait ! 😊 Thank you Viking t
I think Dan's version add more weight to the message of this song. So good. By the way, he will be releasing a new Christmas song soon, so save some time for this one, too. We know it will be amazing. Thanks for another great reaction to Dan.
This is the best version of this Christmas Carol..Dan thoroughly enjoyed himself singing this carol.. that's the original BOSS himself! Love all Dan's covers..❤❤❤
Your reactions are always great. Dan Vasc and Tommy Johannson are both my absolute favorites. One of my favorite Dan songs is Confessori ft. DAN VASC -Where the Eagles fly. He wrote and lyrics this song!❤An absolute power masterpiece. Please 🙏be sure to listen. I would be very happy. Isabella😉
I also sing in the church choir. A little church, only 20 of us left, and the choir is just 3 ladies and me. But if I were to ask Him for one "personal/selfish" blessing it would be to have this type of singing voice. I would never stop singing to His glory. For now, I am thankful for the blessing shared with us, that is Dan's voice and talent.
Loved your reaction. I think this version is great. Adeste Fideles is more metal, and it looks like Dan and Gabriel are both having a blast. There’s also a non-metal Hallelujah Chorus, remember, and try to leave room for a new Dan Christmas song closer to the date. I’m enjoying this musical Advent calendar. Good luck with the new job!
What a wonderful reaction. Thank you very much. ADESTE FIDELES - you will LOVE it, and you'll definitely love the power Dan exudes in that one - like an angelic warchief commanding his army of angels. AND - He sings the entire song in latin. Dan also has 'Santa Claus is coming to town', and 'Jingle bells' on his Christmas repertoire - you can find them if you look up Orion's Reign. They are pretty hilarious, and quite metal.
The positioning of his hands (like holding a ball in front of his pelvis) is actually an old yogic technique, which is practiced in some exercises for holding and focusing one's energy in the Hara-chakra of the body just below the bellybutton. Whether that is Dan's intention, or whether it's just his way of focusing himself and his breath is something you could ask him, when you get your interview😉😉
Dan's posture has always made me sit up straighter when he sings, but I also focus on his embrasure on sustained notes to get it just right for the full rich tone he always brings! He's such a joy and so are your reactions. Thank you!
And those angels who were the choir singing over the Lord Jesus' birth in the skies above Bethlehem... they listen to this, and say "Well done, son! We didn't do it any better ourselves!" I bet they love this version too.
Some people turn things metal and ruin them, Dan adds POWER to the songs and thereby improves them. Imagine how many more people would enjoy Christmas songs if they all had this kind of power in them! I, for one, would most certainly not complain. 😉
Dan is amazing! WOW what power! He has so much strength in his voice and such unbelievable talent he is truly blessed by GOD. I'm sure this is the way the song was meant to be sung.
I think your conclusion, regarding "how much metal" could be added without spoiling the original, is pretty well spot on. This is mainly because the chorus (Gloria...) is exactly the same for every verse. If he changed it up TOO much, the whole stability of the song could have been changed. I don't know if he actually sang all four verses, or if he sang just the first verse in every language. If he sang all four verses, he turned the order around, because when he sang in English, it was the first verse. I would think, then, that he ONLY used the first verse, all the way through. That alone is a huge change-up, because most people who have sung the song in choirs most of their lives (as I have, and obviously you have) would pretty automatically sing all of the four verses, in the order shown below. So...yeah...just adding the subtle metal impact, that is made all the more powerful by the way he lets his whole body react like he does, is about as far as he would be able to go without probably getting a whole lot of people upset! (silly people) (grin) - - - - - - - - - - 1 Angels we have heard on high, sweetly singing o'er the plains, and the mountains in reply echoing their joyous strains: Refrain: Gloria, in excelsis Deo! Gloria, in excelsis Deo! 2 Shepherds, why this jubilee? Why your joyous strains prolong? What the gladsome tidings be which inspire your heav'nly song? [Refrain] 3 Come to Bethlehem and see Him whose birth the angels sing; come, adore on bended knee Christ the Lord, the new-born King. [Refrain] 4 See Him in a manger laid, Jesus, Lord of heav'n and earth! Mary, Joseph, lend your aid, sing with us our Savior's birth. [Refrain] - - - - - - - - - - As for me, I'm thrilled to be able to be able to actually do the glorias without taking a second breath, AND to be able to hit and hold that last note in POWER! I've been working SO hard on breath control, AND getting back up into my highest range, with Dan's concentration and demonstration of those skills to help me, and I listen to this one a lot, as well as "Amazing Grace." - - - - - - - - - - The other two Christmas songs that Dan has on his channel, to date, are "Adeste Fidelis," and "Handel's Hallelujah [Chorus]" (from "The Messiah"). I've sung both of THEM in choir, after choir, after choir, as well. I used to sing the top soprano line from the time I was about five, but I also could (and still can) sing the lowest bass line, as well. In choirs all the way through school, and then in every place we moved to when I was OUT of school (when I'd join community choirs as soon as I could locate them and get involved), I would also help all of the different part singers LEARN their parts. I even got to direct the band and choir, when I was a senior in high school, because our long-time choir leader's husband had been sent to Texas to work...all the way from Alaska, and there wasn't another adult choir leader in our tiny town. So I sang, taught parts, AND directed that year...what fun! 😀 Dan's "Hallelujah Chorus" is all eight parts: top left is three high sopranos. Moving downward, there are three each of the lower soprano range, the high altos, and the lower alto range. On the right side, there are three high tenors, three low tenors, three baritones, and three basses. It's all sung in the usual key, and Dan hits every single note (top to bottom, and bottom to top). It's AMAZING! He calls the project his "journey into insanity." I don't know if you've seen it yet or not, much less reacted to it, but I can hardly wait until you DO! - - - - - - - - - - As for THIS year, from what others have said, Dan has mentioned during two different podcasts, that he definitely HAS selected a Christmas song for this year. I checked, before coming to watch this reaction, but he has NOT yet given a hint about it on INSTAGRAM. I suspect that he will, but possibly not. There evidently will BE one, at any rate, which makes me extremely happy. - - - - - - - - - - Thanks for this REALLY fun reaction! It was GREAT! 😀
This Christmas we'll be on the Dan Vasc versions of Christmas songs, Viking, but worry not for next year. I've got a playlist including Ronnie Dio's God Rest You, Merry Gentlemen, Rob Halford's Oh Come, O Come Emanuel and Eric Adams' Silent Night... Merry Christmas!
Please make sure to include Adeste Fidelis as well in your advent! It’s so good! And he will most certainly release another Christmas song before Christmas as well. Sure to be epic!
I agree the power he projected perfectly in the style he did it. The more metal may have been strong and exciting however I think the emotional power he projects in this version surpasses what he could have gotten in a more metal version. He sang the emotion of the lyrics to perfection. Another one that is cute is Santa Clause is coming to Town with Oriens Reign and Miniva. Keep up the 24….. only 22 more to go and we’re here!!!
I just wanted to tell you that I really love your reactions and look forward to your new reactions. I fell down the Vasc rabbit hole around the same time as you and at the time I was going through a very dark period of my depression that comes and goes at different times of my life. I am 52 years old and haven't had a major episode for some years when a little over a month ago I fell into the abyss. Watching Dan Vasc and people reacting to him really made a difference in days that seemed to have no end. Then I found you and heard your message about your struggles and I felt a connection with you and and I felt for you because I was feeling it hard. It is such a sad place to be that I don't wish it upon anyone. Also, being of Norwegian and Danish decent didn't hurt either. Thank you for sharing your message and I too find joy in listening to Mr. Vasc. To you I wish good tiding and victory in all your battles. Joseph Mallard Idaho Falls, Idaho USA.
There is so much beauty in this song and Dan's added power to that beauty has created a Christmas song with majesty and praise to Him to whom this message is about. Wonderful reaction, Viking!! ♥♥
German is spoken in Brazil - many Germans went to South America after the 2nd WW. When I was in Rio many years ago (1984), a lot of German was spoken, there were also German street names and Hotels. May have changed now.
@@meb8582 Awww, how sweet!! We have a lot more things to see, besides the beaches. Daniel, for example, lives in the hills in the southeast of the country. I live in the "cold" south, in the state of the largest waterfalls in the world (in terms of water volume). Be always welcome! 🙂

Hey Viking. Dan was phenomenal, powerful!!! Bravíssimo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 He's amazing in any genre of music!!! What a powerful voice!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I loved this version, It was glorious✨️ Thank you for sharing this excellent job by Dan. I love your reactions;)
Viking, as always I love your reactions, so spontaneously fun and sweet! Hope you are able to do the 24 Advent Calendar! Blessings and good luck with your new job! 👏🏼🙏🏼🤗😉🎄🎅🏼 The power that Dan possesses in every single thing he touches is nothing short of incredibly EPIC!! I listen to this at least 2x a week, along with his Amazing Grace and Adeste Fidelis all of these just put me in a great mood to tackle my day. That being said there truly isn’t a song that he does that doesn’t lift up my heart and bless my soul and also bring tears at times! The MaN is deliciously amazing in all he does!!😉🤗🧔🏻♀️🫡🫶🏻🤘🏼💪🏼🎄
A saw others mention this but I’ll add to it…….Dan’s Adeste Fideles is fantastic! Dan doing Dan things of course. Someone else said he is dropping a new Christmas song soon.
He is doing a new Christmas song this month. If he was dropping a hint playing Halo with Fear the Beardo about four months ago, it may be Ave Maria. He just randomly started singing it a few times.
As a Pastor, and one that had literally died from a series of Pulmonary Embolisms, heard from The Lord and God Our Father… and still to this day; hears quite clearly…… I will give you something to bring a lot of joy into hearts… This rendition, celebrating Christ Jesus, as well as The Heavenly Father… is Amazing !!! (And it is not just my own opinion🌹) Bravo !💫 GOD Bless 💜🕊💜
You can just see the triumphant song of the angels announcing the Christ's birth! Not passive. Heavenly hosts filling the skies with power and majesty!!!! How many layers did he overlap to make his choir? Incredible. Thank you for your reaction. ❤
If you're looking for other Dan Christmas songs (other than Adeste Fidelis), look up the band Orion's Reign. Dan sang with a few years ago and there are videos for Jingle Bells and Santa Claus is Coming to Town (as well as one for Thunderstruck but that's not very Christmassy lol). The Santa Claus is Coming to Town one is epic.
Yes i agree, it´s Orion´s Reign feat. Minniva ! Dan was the vocalist of Orion´ Reign from 2016 -2017 ! Santa Claus is comming to town is my favorite too. So funny ! 😊
Great reaction as always. In your Advent Calendar reactions, don't forget to look at Dan's metal version of Adeste Fideles - it's REALLY metal. As for the "choir" behind Dan in this one, he recorded 60-something separate tracks of himself to create the men's choir behind him. And you thought 24 Dans was a lot when you reacted to Handel's Hallelujah Chorus!
I intended to go to bed after this video . However you introduced me to Dan Vasc and I am in love. Never mind that I am 78 years old. Thank you. Gotta watch more videos of him tonight. I see that you do a lot of him. Cheers.
We have faith in your ability to handle 24 reactions in 24 days AND a new job! Especially with motivation like Dan's music to help you get it done! Hope you will also be reacting to his version of Adeste Fideles - even more metal!

Absolutely fantastic reaction 🤘🤘 Dan and Tommy Johansson are by far my top fav singers. Btw you should definitely react to one of Tommy's songs too. He made 24 Christmas songs last year including "Christmas Truce" from Sabaton. Maybe you could check it out 😁😁

Can you imagine if Dan was in your church choir?!? The church would be packed every Sunday. 😱

My thoughts exactly. He truly is an angel and I agree this is exactly how the angels sang this song. 😊❤

I was going to suggest Adeste Fidelis too, lol!

Dan's singing is such a tribute to the power and joy of faith in God. Thanks for your reaction!
Hey Viking! Thank you for your Reaction! If you look on line, there's a house with x-mas lights that blink in sync with this Dan version, way cool!

Viking, I loved your reaction to this cover. I do believe this is one of my most favorite songs of Dan's. Can't wait to see your next reaction 😊
I'm looking forward to this one, because it shows a lot of Dan's talent. And I'm also curious about your reaction Viking. I certainly do love it ❣🧑🎄

1 Angels we have heard on high,
sweetly singing o'er the plains,
and the mountains in reply
echoing their joyous strains:
Refrain:
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
Gloria, in excelsis Deo!
2 Shepherds, why this jubilee?
Why your joyous strains prolong?
What the gladsome tidings be
which inspire your heav'nly song? [Refrain]
3 Come to Bethlehem and see
Him whose birth the angels sing;
come, adore on bended knee
Christ the Lord, the new-born King. [Refrain]
4 See Him in a manger laid,
Jesus, Lord of heav'n and earth!
Mary, Joseph, lend your aid,
sing with us our Savior's birth. [Refrain]

😮😮😮
Love this one. Dan just shows us how Christmas should be sung. With joy. Just Dan can do it this way. Awesome. Love your reaction ♥️
Hey Viking. Dan was phenomenal, powerful!!! Bravíssimo 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 He's amazing in any genre of music!!! What a powerful voice!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I loved this version, It was glorious✨️
Thank you for sharing this excellent job by Dan. I love your reactions;)
Wow, wasn’t sure I would like him, but that was amazing.
Viking, as always I love your reactions, so spontaneously fun and sweet! Hope you are able to do the 24 Advent Calendar! Blessings and good luck with your new job! 👏🏼🙏🏼🤗😉🎄🎅🏼
The power that Dan possesses in every single thing he touches is nothing short of incredibly EPIC!! I listen to this at least 2x a week, along with his Amazing Grace and Adeste Fidelis all of these just put me in a great mood to tackle my day. That being said there truly isn’t a song that he does that doesn’t lift up my heart and bless my soul and also bring tears at times! The MaN is deliciously amazing in all he does!!😉🤗🧔🏻♀️🫡🫶🏻🤘🏼💪🏼🎄
Thanks for a great review!!
As a Pastor, and one that had literally died from a series of Pulmonary Embolisms, heard from The Lord and God Our Father… and still to this day; hears quite clearly…… I will give you something to bring a lot of joy into hearts…
This rendition, celebrating Christ Jesus, as well as The Heavenly Father… is Amazing !!!
(And it is not just my own opinion🌹)
Bravo !💫
GOD Bless
💜🕊💜
You can just see the triumphant song of the angels announcing the Christ's birth! Not passive. Heavenly hosts filling the skies with power and majesty!!!! How many layers did he overlap to make his choir? Incredible. Thank you for your reaction. ❤
Definitiv 😂
If you're looking for other Dan Christmas songs (other than Adeste Fidelis), look up the band Orion's Reign. Dan sang with a few years ago and there are videos for Jingle Bells and Santa Claus is Coming to Town (as well as one for Thunderstruck but that's not very Christmassy lol). The Santa Claus is Coming to Town one is epic.
Nicole, I laughed all the way through that with the guys dressed in black and in their metal stances singing silly stuff. Fun to watch!😅
Yes i agree, it´s Orion´s Reign feat. Minniva ! Dan was the vocalist of Orion´ Reign from 2016 -2017 ! Santa Claus is comming to town is my favorite too. So funny ! 😊
Not a Christmas song, but, Dan also did Elan (Nightwish cover) with Orion's Reign, and it's awesome ... better than original. 😊
Omg this is one of my favorites and I am so excited to see your reaction to this!!! Love it!!!
How do you guys find out this stuff?
Se non ti dispiace Viking potresti reagire a Everdream, Dan è super !
Yes, love it!
I just loved that!❤❤
I intended to go to bed after this video . However you introduced me to Dan Vasc and I am in love. Never mind that I am 78 years old. Thank you. Gotta watch more videos of him tonight. I see that you do a lot of him. Cheers.
Dan 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Incredible AS ALWAYS! Can't wait for the new one this year! ❤❤❤❤
We have faith in your ability to handle 24 reactions in 24 days AND a new job! Especially with motivation like Dan's music to help you get it done!
Hope you will also be reacting to his version of Adeste Fideles - even more metal!
Check his Christmas songs with O'rions reign.
Great Reaction
I got strong Pirate King vibes from Pirates of Penzance, should he ever decide to have a go at Gilbert and Sullivan.
Getting to enjoy him this is the third time I have listened to him rock out. Wonderful voice.
Fabulous! Love his incredible voice.
Enjoyed your reaction. I love the power and beauty of his voice.
This is. A fairly early video, I think.
Absolutely fantastic reaction 🤘🤘
Dan and Tommy Johansson are by far my top fav singers.
Btw you should definitely react to one of Tommy's songs too. He made 24 Christmas songs last year including "Christmas Truce" from Sabaton.
Maybe you could check it out
😁😁
I second this. 🎶
For another original take on an old carol, check out God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen by Geoff Castellucci!
He sung this song in 4 languages! Italian, German, Portuguese and English! 😮
Dan do you want to adopt another mother. I would be proud
